ActionScript 2.0 :: Import Video As Frames?

Oct 28, 2011

I want to control this imported video with UP and DOWN keys, to play forward and backwards, but it's not smooth at all, and it lags when in reverse - I read that I could import the video as bitmap sequence, and so I tried exporting the video as bmp image files from After Effects, but there are like 2108 images, and Flash crashed after importing them!

Is there a better way to import a video to Flash, in frames, so that it acts just like a movieclip and runs as smooth as one?

XFL Import From AE CS4 Limited To 1000 Frames?

Jul 22, 2009

I'm currently working on a JibJab style project where a third party agency have done an animation. Now we have tracked the head motions in AE CS4 and done an export to Flash using XFL, and the motion does not work.

Before this we have done several tests to see if this method would work, so we know it actually does work, but the tests where only a couple of 100 frames long, now the project is over 1500 frames.

The final animation is 60 sec, 25f/s, and after importing the motion into FLASH using XFL nothing happens. The motion is there if we look in the motion editor, the image is there, but nothing happens when i scrub back and forth. This all worked like a charm with the test projects. AND if i try and rightclick the picture or motion editor FLASH freezes, so i know something is REALLY wrong here.

After four hours of bug hunting i have isolated the problem to the number of frames you try to import into FLASH. If the end sequence is more than 1000 frames (exactly!) a extra keyframe is added on the first frame in the motion editor, so there is TWO keyframes on the first frame, where there should only be possible to have one. This happens only if the sequence is more then 1000 frames. If i take the same sequence and export if from AE so its less then 1000 frames everything is fine.

I have attached a screenshot of the extra keyframe that apears in the motion editor. It's allso noteworthy that this extra keyframe can't be changed or adjusted as it does not actualy "excist".

I would like to have this bug confirmed by someone and if someone has a solution? Right now im looking at cutting up the export into "999 frames" sections and then patch it together again in Flash.

Jun 30, 2011

I have a 30 minute mp3 I need to embed in an .fla so I can export as .mov for conversion to .fla.I tried adding frames, but you can only add so many at a time. At 30 minutes, I had added the max frames (going to the rigth) about 15 times and it wasn't enough.Is there a trick to automatically adding enough frames to cover the entire imported mp3 on the timeline?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Import .mp4 Video In CS3

Jul 6, 2009

I had another question, for some reason, my flash file won't let me import this movie I have that's an mp4. If I put it there, the sound will play but the screen is just white, and I tried converting it to other files using different programs but it always messes up the video. I made this video in after effects, it's a demo reel, and I lost a few files since I made this months ago, so I can't just go back and render it out in another format. Is there anything I can do? I just need the mp4 to play as an embedded video

Flash :: FLV Cue Point On Video Import?

Feb 23, 2012

I'm having trouble with a simple AS3 (CS5.5) project I have imported a video encoded through Adobe media encoder as a FLV file and have added a Navigation Cue Point at the end of the video as I would like the video to simply go to a frame number when the video has ended so it doesn't stop on that video.

I have used a code I have used on many occasions in AS2 which I put on a keyframe at the top where the video runs under and give the video an instance name of vid:

[Code]..

Ideally I just want the code go to a frame number when the video finishes instead of staying on the video.

Flvplayback Imported With Video Import Wizard?

Dec 16, 2009

I imported multiple flvplayback videos on my file via the Video Wizard Import. After that I removed all videos except one. But it's still trying to load those old video and the skin of their player when I preload the file. I am sure there's no player on the stage except the one I need. And when I need to play the file, it's working well, the only problem is the extra loading for 6 skins that I don't use anymore and the time to look for 6 videos that are not there. So here're my questions;

1-When you import a video via Wizard, it there a script hidden somewhere that can be found? 2-When you import a flv to the stage, there's a loading bar saying getting metadata. Is there a place to edit or erase this metadata ?

3-Any other ideas of where I could look to find this hidden data or trace or ghost that needs to be remove from the file ?

Professional :: Import Two AVI Video Files & Convert To One FLV?

Feb 17, 2010

- I can import a single AVI video file and convert it to an FLV video.

Problem: I have two AVI video files... one 4GB (20 minute) long and one 2GB (10 minute) long... and want to combine them to have a single 30 minute long FLV video file.

Question:

- Can I do this in Flash? When I "convert" a single AVI video to a FLV using the File, Import method... I can't really see the video on the Flash time line.

- I tried doing a File, Import for file-1.avi and then doing it for file-2.avi... but the two were on top of each other... and not end to end.

ActionScript 3.0 :: MainTimeLine.as Class & Import Fl.video.FLVPlayback?

Jan 6, 2010

i am creating a package, MainTimeLine.as, to extend my main timeline.  i use the FLVPlayback component under the package.  however, i get the compile error:

1172: Definition fl.video:FLVPlayback could not be found. so i added the "import fl.video.FLVPlayback;" line to my MainTimeLine.as file, but flash gives the above error. now i had this problem when i added this code directly under a frame of the main timeline until i added a FLVPlayback instance to my library.  now, i am trying to simply embed all of the code under the MainTimeLine.as file and have the as file encapsulate all of it.  but, i still get that error.

so, how do i get flash cs4 to recognize and use the import properly

Image (Reducing The Size) Sequence Or Import Video?

Feb 11, 2010

I'm building a Flash site that features a three-dimensional interface and I'm facing a significant file size problem, which will mean serious bandwidth problems when the site is online. I don't particularly want to go the route of actually bringing a 3D object into Flash, mainly because my object features transparency (it's made from glass) and papervision3d confuses me to no end. So I have two options: import as video or import as image sequence.

So I went with the image sequence idea. It was easy for me to give the viewer the ability to scrub back and forth through the looped animation and click on certain things at certain times (using invisible buttons). This gives the appearance the viewer is in a three-dimensional word, albeit on a fixed path backwards and forwards, much like a roller coaster

There's also an array of buttons down the bottom of the website that you can click on, and it will play through the image sequence (either in forward or reverse). So that works great, but even with high compression of jpegs and a low 12 fps, the swf file will be somewhere between 10 and 30mb, which is quite ridiculous!

Possible solutions include reducing the amount of images I use in the sequence, squishing it down to half the amount of images. Reducing the size of the images down to something smaller, like 800 x 600. But do you think I would get better results if I can import this as a movie instead and try to control the movie? Can I have the same control if it's an actual video file and not an image sequence?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Getting Different Frames Of Video?

Jul 2, 2009

I need to get random frames of a video on request. I am using bitmapdata.draw(video) for this. But the problem I am facing is that I am not getting the snapshot of the exact frame. The video is there on localhost so I suppose the problem cannot be of Enhanced seek.

What happens is that when I do ns.seek(someTime), the videoContainer displays the required frame but the snapshot is taken according to ns.time ( which is not changing upon ns.seek(someTime)). So, the snapshot is something else and the videoContainer is displaying something else. Wierd!!

The code is:

ActionScript Code:
function manageData(str:String):void
{
var frameno:int=int(str);

[code]....
