Do I have to use Flash Media Encoder to capture the audio? Is it possible to capture the audio without the need of installing the Flash Media Encoder and somehow stream it to the Flash Media Server?

May 22, 2009I'm having a bit of trouble with flash cs3 video encoder. I'd like to encode some mpeg files to flv but I keep getting errors when trying to encode. The mpeg files are raw imported from my dvd video cam. I'm guessing they are mpeg-2 720 by 480 res. Quicktime files encode fine but I haven't tried any other video types. I thought it was a codec problem as all I use is vlc for video. So I tried k-lite codec pack nut no success, same errors. Just wondering if anyone had any advice. I suppose I could encode my mpeg files to mov first? But what encoder would I use to keep high quality?

Sep 18, 2008I'm trying to compress a video into an flv for my flash file. When I compress the video using flash video encoder the video shows up white but I can see the audio. The original version is compressed using H.264. I don't know enough about codecs to know why its not showing video.

Jul 20, 2009I am currently using Digital Rapids StreamZ to encode video for Flash media Server. The guys who look after the equipment have streamed to flash media server before using RTMP addresses without any problems but ustream doesn't seem to work.
Would there be any reason why the encoded signal would not get through or display on ustream? The StreamZ software is not showing any problems or error messages so we are assuming the encoded feed is being sent correctly but Ustream doesn't detect that there is a flash media stream available for that channel.

Sep 3, 2009Allright, so i'm searching for information on how to write plugins for FMLE 3.0, the reason is that i need to extend some functionality regarding the metadata injections. So, does anyone here know of an API/Framework/SDK like paper that is a good place to start reading? Any input will be welcome, except "nay sayers" because i know it's possible to make plugins, ive seen one or two out there, just dont know where to start.
PS. I have plenty experience in writing DLL's for windows applications, but i would rather refrain from reverse-engineering FMLE to use windows hooks and insert dll's at run/loadtime, would rather have a more or less "intentional" framework to work with.
Professional :: After Encoding In Flash Video Encoder (with Adobe AIR) The Interlacing Does Not Appear?
Feb 1, 2010I am having an interlacing issue when I load my .flv files up to my site.The strange thing is that when I watch them after encoding in Flash Video Encoder (with adobe AIR) the interlacing does not appear. I can't understand why the interlacing issue would appear once the videos are loaded up to the site and yet they look perfectly crisp and clear when I watch the completed .flv's in AIR. I didn't de-interlace the videos the first time I created the .flv's but that shouldn't matter since they play fine in AIR right? Of course I can go back through and de-interlace them, but I want to make sure that this is the problem before I take the time to re-encode them all.

Mar 30, 2011I have installed the Authentication Add-In on a FMS 3.5.5 Development version, running Windows 2008 Server.I can easily get to the users.exe command prompt and add users with no problem.BUT, when I open the Flash Media Live Encoder and go to enter a username/password when connecting to the server, I keep getting "User Not Found".I've went back several times using users.exe and tested for my user credentials and it always states that the user is there.

Everything works fine.I need to know when Flash Media Live Encoder 3 is off-line. how i can do that FLVPLAYBACK detect this action and the client is disconnected. i try using buffering but i don't know, how take a time for it. for example is 5sec in buffering do another action or is there some function that detects when there is off-line?
