i have a question to ask, and im really new to this script. i try my best find this solution but i didnt have enough information about Flash AS2.0 Connect with RESTful Services. i have server link "[URL]" if it WSDL link i know how to connect it using Webservices Class on Flash COmponent. but to this RESTful Services what actionscript code to connect with that link. any information about this action that can share with me?

UPDATE: Now I've moved the AMFConnection var declaration to outside the functions in Main, and commented out some trace() commands, and now it gives new errors:

I'm trying to connect to AMFPHP on a server (with Flash AS3), and the swf borks when it reaches the .connect() stage. To make things easier (?) and more reusable (?), I've put all the NetConnection mechanics into a separate class, AMFConnection, which I call from the Main document class like this (details changed):

AMFConnection actually starts the connection and calls the AMFPHP service with the function gogogo(), and here's where the connect() NetConnection function just won't work. Here's the main section of the AMFConncection class

It also fails to display the stage, instead showing the loading dots. Now, eventually I'm going to move this application to the same server as the AMFPHP service, but even when I try it there with a relative url, instead of an absolute one, it still breaks down at connect(). I've tried changing the publish settings from local only to network only, to no avail.
I am trying to make a real simple "Connect four" Game without any KI, just for two people taking turns to klick.Sounds easy, but I just can't get it right. I found a .fla in the internet and tried to modify it, but there's some mistake in the script that I just can't figure out.

The documentation ([URL]) has more around WebSession - but the example I have which is closest to what solution I'm trying to implement uses JSSession and it looks like I could avoid all of the JavaScript pass-through & ExternalInterface calls I'm making. It appears that the benefit of using this new ActionScript Facebook API is to avoid having to make all of the Facebook calls via JavaScript.

The client writes to the socket and the server seems to accept it. In short, the server / client rig works. Now I want to re-create the client only this time, via Flex 4 / Flash Builder 4. How do I go about making my Flex 4 app connect to my custom server?

With that type of approach, the server doesn't seem to be receiving any connections at all. And also, even though I set the requestTimeout to 5, my Flex app seems to continuously try to connect to the server because I rigged it so that the button when clicked will call this HTTPService also that certain button would get disabled and it will get enabled again after it the connection successfully connects, returned an error or if it timed out.
So with all these said, I want to ask you, what is the best approach to making my Flex app connect to my custom made server?

I'm trying to make a link from my flash .swf to call a JavaScript from the html document. It looks like this:

Does this looks correct? Are these ' ' symbols placed correct? The problem is that someone else is doing the connection to actually pick up the JavaScript callArticle function, so this code is all that I do.
I'm trying to link a button to the next scene. But the problem is that I can't give an action to the button in the scene, because in the action panel appears: 'Current selection cannot have actions applied to it.' So I have to make a framelabel I guess but doesn't work eather, what's the next step?

I'm just picking up flash and I am trying to make a new menu of buttons in the template and I will be changing the menu that is already there, but it isn't using conventional menu coding. This is the piece of code I am trying to use for my button to lead to a different movie clip to a different frame than the one the buttons are sitting in, a separate movie clip.

Of course there are more buttons, this is just one. Customhomes is the frame label, customhms_btn is the instance name. It tells me that customhms_btn is not defined. I have this code sitting in the movie clip that the buttons are in by itself in the first layer.

I've been sent a swf file for a banner that needs to be linked to a url. I am adding this to my client's website and my client has been sent the swf and javascript to add to the page. The problem is that the javascript code is overly complex, and I'm wanting to use Jquery and Unobtrusive Flash Objects (I've not yet updated to swfobject on this site). Can I use Jquery and/or UFO (or indeed swfobject if I have to upgrade) to make the swf file link to an external url (preferably loading in a new tab/window)?
