ActionScript 1/2 :: Programmatically Responding To The Replace Existing Item Dialog In JSFL
Jul 19, 2006
JSFL includes a nice command named addItemToDocument. This allows the script to add components from the component panel to the stage (and library). If the component already appears on stage and the addition is newer than the version on stage, a dialog appears with the question 'One or More library items already exist in the document.' That is a rather inconvient happening for automating this task. My main goal is to update the components in many files after I update a component. I don't want to manually respond to that dialog.
I'm setting up some auto build scripts with ant and jsfl for use in Flash CS4. I have a few files that have some missing fonts. For these I just want to have the default mapping selected since the text content in question isn't displayed. I think CS5 may have an option to not display the mapping dialog, but CS4 doesn't. Anyone know if there's a jsfl method to targert this window and just select 'OK'?
var tmpDoc = fl.createDocument(); /*..some logic...*/ tmpDoc.addItem({x:0,y:0},item);
My JSFL has the above code.And on the 3rd line, I get a dialog box :which has title : "Resolve library conflict"two radio button options : "replace","dont replace"two buttons : "ok","cancel" Due to this dialog box, I have to manually monitorthe script execution and click on a button. want to either :1. Suppress these kind of dialog boxex altogether.2. or programatically provide a default option to these kind of dialogs
Is there a way to programmatically close an open file dialog?
My current problem is this: I have a small file download program. When the user clicks a button, it will pop-up the Save As dialog. The problem is, if the user closes the Firefox window, the dialog stays open. And when the user wants to close that dialog, he or she can't anymore. It won't respond. The only way is to kill the plugin process (on Linux anyway).
So is there a way to monitor opened file dialogs?
I've tried to get the browser to notify the Flash app that it's closing, which works great. The problem is even if the app knows it should close the file dialog, it can't...I've tried setting the FileReference to null, using delete on it, calling the garbage collector, etc., nothing seems to have any control on that dialog.
I want to be able to select a item (image, movieclip etc) that has been added to the stage in Flash and access its file name.
So if I drag a image called 'imageOne.png' onto the stage, I want to be able to access its name, 'imageOne.png', and pass it to a Extension for Flash that I'm building. I know I can get details from the library, but not from the items selected on the stage.
Can anyone tell me how to access this information using JSFL.
I need to programmatically set the selected item in a combobox. I've got a combobox like this: <mx:ComboBox id="MyComboBox" change="puzzleHandler(event);"prompt="Make a Selection"> <mx:ArrayCollection id="myDP"> <mx:Object id="first" label="Label 1" series="2" pageTitle="Title 1"/> <mx:Object id="second" label="Label 2" series="7" pageTitle="Title 2"/> <mx:Object id="third" label="Label 3" series="9" pageTitle="Title 3"/> </mx:ArrayCollection></mx:ComboBox>
I've got a function that regards deep linking. [URL]. They'll be taken to the appropriate part of the site (without having selected Label 2 in the comboBox). How do I set the comboBox programatically, so that it corresponds with what the user it looking at? In my function's switch statement, I want to set the comboBox to the label that corresponds with the view. If "view=2" then the comboBox should show "Label 2" as selected.
case "view=1": MyComboBox.selectedItem.label="Label 1"; parseUrl(); case "view=2": [Code] ..... I tried this: MyComboBox.selectedItem.label="Label 1" But it's not working.
I have this MenuBar control in Flex 3. How can I programmatically change the toggled property to false? <mx:MenuBar labelField="@label" itemClick="itemClickHandler(event);" left="0" right="0" top="0" id="menuBar"> <mx:XMLList><menuitem label="File" data="top"> <menuitem label="New" data="file-new"/></menuitem> <menuitem label="View" > <menuitem label="Grid" type="check" toggled="true" data="view-grid"/> </menuitem></mx:XMLList></mx:MenuBar>
The selectedIndex is associated with an HSlider, but that is not the problem. My issue is that I would like to automatically select a certain "preferred" element from the list (only initially...to guide the user).
I tried to do that in a creationComplete event but my data hadn't shown up yet...setting selectedIndex didn't work..
Is it possible to execute a jsfl function from a jsfl file instead of a full string with MMExecute? And above of that how can i change the base class with jsfl? i created a panel to create certain displayobjects but i really need to change the base class instead of the normal class name.
I'm having some real trouble getting .replace to actually replace something. Here's my code...
[Code]...
I can trace both newFiles[i] and keywords[i][whatever], but the replace doesn't replace anything. The regex is valid as well. I'm using regexr to test it, and it works perfectly there... but will not for me and I don't know why.
What I want to do is, when I select an item in the datagrid, the selected item of the dropdown should be the correct one (the one which has the field idCompSuperioara equal to the third element in the selected datagrid row).
I'm creating a mobile app in which I need to show a calendar with months at the top. The months are part of a component that extends from SkinnableDataContainer (and has some custom scrolling/behaviour - which is why I did'nt use a spark list). I need the months to be shown as a 'trapezium' shaped tab and so I'm using a png image as a mask in the item renderer for the component.
When the mask is not applied, it all works well - the months render, the list/data container selection works when I click on a month and so on.When the mask is applied, it renders well, scrolling and everything else seems to work well - but when I click on a month, nothing happens visually. And from the trace statements in my code, it appears list item selection is not changing. Looks like mouse clicks are not working.
Code:
public class TopCalendarMonthRenderer extends LabelItemRenderer { [Embed(source="/assets/trapezium_alpha.png")] private static var TrapeziumMask:Class; private static var trapeziumMaskInstance:BitmapAsset;
I am in search of finding a way to display shopping cart items in a flash 8 datagrid in the order it was chosen by the user & also to ability to delete an item if the user choses. Currently I have the items displaying however they are displaying in a position as it is stored and called in the array. [code]
I have made a drop down menu with 7 items but as the invisible bottun around each item interferes with the item besid it, when i try to roll the mouse from one item to another, the invisible bottum dont work and the dropdown remains open.
I have used states in my application.The thing is I have made the first item in my list to be selected. so I gave like this,
if(itemIndex == 0) this.currentState="selected";
this works fine.The problem is when other item is selected the first item does not change its state,it remains in the selected state until its clicked.My code looks like this,
I want to be able to select an item from my list component and fire a function directly related to selecting that item. list is called "tidlist" function is "selecttid(n)" the "n" needs to be replaced with the index number... so if run my swf and the list component displays my items... when i select one (the third one for example)... i want to fire "selectTid(3)".... cant seem to grasp.

A Flash program is connecting to WCF web service hosted on a server without anti-virus and without firewall and windows server 2003 64 bit environment.[code]...
im using this method to load movies and create transitions between them for my site.. I have read the technique thoroughly and im fairly sure the code and structure I have used is correct however the loadMovie function called from an embedded swf is not doing anything and I cant work out why..on the main timeline there is a container movie that the swf files are loaded into, the intro sequence is loaded through an action on frame 1:
this works no worries.. but when the container is targeted from inside the introsection.swf movie nothing happens, this is the code used:_root.container.loadMovie(_root.currMovie+".swf")I have tried variations with this and nothing works.. the container movie has the correct instance name and the code works from the main timeline but not from within another swf.
My flv files won't run if I move the folder where I have all the contents. How do I fix this problem so that I can run the flv's no matter where the folder is? I know this isn't exactly an actionscript problem since I imported them directly to the library and from there to the stage,
I an trying to get the _root node of an FLA via JSFL. A co-worker wrote a script that uses _root via actionscript. I was trying to wrap that code into a panel. I have all the trace functionality running and everything running accept I can't seem to access the "_root". I have tried _level0, and almost everything I can think of... I am looking to have JSFL return the _root object from the current file the same way can can hand "_root" to a function. (IE: myfunction( _root ); ) here is my current attempt:
Code: var doc = MMExecute( "fl.getDocumentDOM()._root;" );
