ActionScript 2.0 :: Thumbnails Tutorial Adjustment For Thumb Width

Dec 18, 2007

I'm wondering if there is a way to tweak the tutorial for the thumbnails slider (link below) to allow for thumbnails of various widths: [URL] Currently the script creates the spacing between the thumbs by taking the width of the first thumbnail loaded and adding a value of 5 to it. However, in my instance the first thumb is the widest, so this creates odd spacing (This is for a product selector that runs from largest thumb to smallest).

ActionScript 2.0 :: Funkycode.de Screen Adjustment - Bottom Section

Mar 21, 2007

was looking at former sotw winners and i came across funkycode.de, which has the bottom section of its page adjust within flash depending on the browser, and not just the resolution. for eg; if you resize the window the bottom nav will just flow upward and follow (until you hit the 1024x768 boundary in which case the bottom doesnt exist anymore) speaking of which, dont you think it kind of sucks that sites have to be made in consideration for 1024 when you can do so much more with 1280

ActionScript 3.0 :: YouTube Chromeless Player Ceases To Enlarge Up To Full Screen Width In Full Screen Mode?

Jul 9, 2011

I tested my skin for YouTube Chromeless player, and seems it worked properly.All graphic elements, including TLFTextFields, are stored in external SWF, all the AS3 code - in loading SWF.I use ProLoader class to load SWF.However, when I tried to attach Player skin code to my Home Page code, I immediately bumped into two issues:

1. TLFTextFields ceased to display proper font;

2. YouTube Chromeless player ceased to enlarge up to Full Screen width in Full Screen mode, whereas all publishing settings were kept the same...

Although I managed to cope with TLFTextField bug by replacing instances with vars in loaded SWF, I have no the slightest idea what to do with those paddings in Full Screen mode... Neither removing all children on stage before loading YouTube Player skin, nor compulsory resetting player's size can't make it work...

ActionScript 1/2 :: Image Slideshow - Getting White Screen?

Apr 8, 2009

I found a tutorial online to do a Image Slideshow. [URL]. But, I can not get anything to work. I am new to this and unfortunately do not have time to do any formal training right now. Probably when this project is done. When I "test movie" I just get a white screen w/ nothing on it. I should be getting a box 500x500 w/ a box that is 400x400 for my frame. I just finished step 3, and I do not get my frame box like a should.

Here is what my .xml document says:
<slideshow width="400" height="400" speed="5">
<image url="images/1.jpg" />
<image url="images/2.jpg" />
<image url="images/3.jpg" /> .....

And here is the action script.
var myShowXML = new XML();

myShowXML.onLoad = function() {

ActionScript 2.0 :: Stretching To Screen Width?

Feb 14, 2009

I know how to set the box._width = Stage.width; which will give me the available stage width but it automatically sets it there before the animation takes place. is there a way to make a movie clip where the box starts at 200h 200w and ends with 200h Stage.width

IDE :: Matching Width To Screen Size?

Jun 2, 2009

I'm sure there are a million posts on this, but I cannot for the life of me figure out the wording under which they are classified.I am trying to get my site to scale so that the width is 100% the width of the screen, and the height, if there's more than can be viewed, is cut off. No scrolling. If I simply use the 100% width property, it seems to also give height at 100% value, so this way the whole site fits on the screen, but there is empty space on the right and left which is not what I want. Does this make sense how I've worded it?

Professional :: Adding Text And A Slideshow Instance Skews SWF Off Screen

Jul 15, 2010

I have a third party slideshow instance (SlideShowPro (SSP)) and have used the following code to allow SSP to resize to screen:

import net.slideshowpro.slideshowpro.*;
import flashx.textLayout.formats.BlockProgression;
stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;

[Code]....

It all works fine.  However, I am trying to put in links on the stage outside of SSP (i.e., Home, Gallery, About, etc.) as shown in this example website [URL].  When I do, the stage is truncated and part of SSP is skewed off the page.

How do I make sure that my stage containing text and SSP is captured as the SWF?

this code continusly loops 2 MovieClip instances.  When I set the frame rate to 40 this command this.stage.frameRate = 40; it moves along pretty fast.If I set the frame rate through a slider componet I have to set it to about 300 to be the same speed.  This seems strange I thought 40fps was 40fps.

I dragged the Slider component on stage, gave it an instance name, and configured with component inspector.

I am trying to animate an adjustment layer in Flash with Photoshop. The only way to describe the effect I'm looking for is if you apply an adjustment layer to an image/photoshop file (i.e. Hue/Saturation) and move the slide bar from one side to another. This effect works well with pictures that have multiple colors. I might be able to provide a video of this effect if my description is confusing.

ActionScript 3.0 :: BorderContainer - Get The Width That Is Visible On The Screen?

Jun 1, 2011

I'm programmatically creating a spark BorderContainer in ActionScript and filling it with a few labels. After I make it visible, it's width is 298 pixels. However, I only know this because I'm taking a screenshot and measuring the width. If I trace() the width, or explicitWidth, or measuredWidth, or getExplicitOrMeasuredWidth(), or getLayoutBoundsWidth() ... ad nauseum ... the reported width is always 42 pixels. Without fail. how the hell I can get the width that is visible on the screen? It's absolutely ridiculous how easy this should be, but isn't.
