Jun 17, 2010if it's possible to smoothly reverse the speed of an FLV streaming from the web (HTTP, not Flash Server) - that is, play the video backwards. I am using a Video instance to play a NetStream streaming the FLV. I'm waiting for the whole thing to load before playing the video (the video is paused at start), so it would be nice if there was a way to access the buffered data and then play it backwards.

Oct 27, 2009Anyone know how to vary the playback speed of video in Flash? I'm looking to implement this in an educational website where users can slow down the video or breeze through it by changing the playback.
Here's an example of what I'm looking for: [URL].. Except that this is a PC application, .exe. I'm looking to vary speed WITHIN Flash. I think FLV is not an option because you can only jump from cue-point to cue-point. With F4V work? MP4?
ActionScript 3.0 :: Controlling The Speed Of A Video With A Slider?
Mar 8, 2012I've been following/combining a few tutorials across the Internet. I'm looking at controlling the speed of a video with a slider. I've currently got the slider working and the video on stage but I'm a little unsure as to the algorithm required to make such a slider work. The video I want to control needs to move from half speed, 0.5-1 on left half of the bar and to double speed 1-2 on the right hand side of the bar.

Jul 19, 2006In my flash movie, I've imported a very small video file. When the video is done playing, I wanted the user to be able to click a button and the video would play in reverse. I've gotten this to work with the _currentframe and _nextframe properties, but when I play the movie in reverse it's not as smooth. Here's an example of what happens: [URL] Once the movie is done playing, click on it. When it's playing in reverse, you can see it gets a little choppy when the guy gets towards the top of the rail. Has anyone found a way to play the movies backwards without having the speed affected? Maybe I shouldn't use the _currentframe property??

It uses streaming over a hosted FMS $50/month account.Some users are complaining that the video doesn't play at all.ith one of these users, we had them go to a speed test website and it was determined that they had a very slow connection which we are assuming is what is causing them to not be able view the video.So before we try to load the video we want to determine their connection speed. Then if they have a good enough connection we will play the video and if not then we will do something else like play a lower quality video or simply display a message and not play a video at all.

Aug 7, 2010I want to add an animated .gif file to my movie. So I created a new symbol and then imported the .gif file to the stage. This created the symbol containing the animated .gif.I dragged the symbol onto the scene where I want it. However, the animation seems to play at a different speed (fps) than normal. So I changed the fps of the symbol (at bottom of Timeline where it says "fps"). But for some reason this changes the fps of the rest of the entire movie.

Mar 23, 2010I have a movie clip on my scene which has a speed applied to it making it move across the screen. This is duplicated when it reaches the other end of the screen.On my scene I have some action script which is acting as a timer. After a set time I want it to increase the speed of the movie clips, making the game become "harder". I seem to be able to manipulate the alpha of my movie clips but can't seem to trigger the speed increase.If i use a setInterval it seems to trigger the speed increase but it does it each time the movie clip is duplicated (so the delay resets, it does not change once and apply throughout)However, where I am changing the alpha I cannot seem to change the speed.

Jan 27, 2012I have built a very simple flash player using the video component and I used cue points in the flv, then I used simple buttons and find cue points code snippets to make my buttons go to a certain part of the movie. All that works very well. Now what I need to do is when a certain que point portion is playing have the button stay in a overstate and once that portion of the video is done or another button is clicked the first button return to upstate and the new portion or the new button have the overstate.

Oct 5, 2009I have embedded a flv video into my timeline, it uses the flv playback component to play and the SteelExternalAll.swf skin. I would like to control this flv using buttons that I have created that are postioned next to the video player. Ideally, these buttons would be thumbnails, similar to chapter thumbnails on DVDs and would serve a very similar function. As these thumbnail buttons are always present, I want them to change while the movie plays, I think a border around the currently playing would suffice.
The video is nearly 3 mins long, I have made cue points from Sorenson Squeeze.

Oct 8, 2010I have an external video list (array) that is set up to load and play in an FLVPlayback component. The client wants individual audio control buttons: 1) Up volume 2) mute 3) Down volume. I have AS on each of the buttons but it's not controlling the volume of any of the videos. The only one that works is the mute or "stop all sounds." I'm unsure on how to go about getting what I want.
