The buttons are contained in a movie clip.When you click the button, it starts the movie clip and makes the page "flip".Problem is, if i click back to page 1 and go back to page 2, it now takes two button clicks to start the movie clip.I put this action in the button where "page2" is the instance name of the movieclip:[code]
View 12 RepliesWorking on the following site [URL] On the "What we Do" page (one click to the right) each company logo is linked using the Action Script 2 below. Only the "Zipfizz" button works though. The rest of the buttons only work very rarely. I made a stock button from a white box then turned the opacity to 0. Put one over every logo with the proper dimensions and gave them the right instance names. If you click the logo repeatedly in different areas the link will sometimes work. Anyone have an idea what's going on? I not very familiar with AS2, only AS3 but the site was built by another designer awhile ago.

I am creating a navigation bar in Flash (which will then be used in Dreamweaver). When you mouse over each topic in menu (ex. Products), i want it play a movie clip (so it shoots out a sub-menu underneath). so far so good, but the only thing is, the sub-menu won't stay open in order for me to click on buttons in it. For each button, I assigned it the Behavior to go to a url. Also, I tested the buttons within the mc and they don't seem to direct me to url. do you think maybe it's because it's nested within the movie clip?? Is there an easier way to go about this?

I have a movie clip with 15 frames. Each frame has buttons on it (mc's)... I was going to put the actions on the main timeline/stage and navigate within the MC from the main timeline. Is that possible? I can get the buttons on the first frame of the MC to work, but I can't seem to figure out how to target/make the buttons on the other frames work? I was thinking I could identify the path of the MC with the frame labels, but that doesn't seem to work. like: _root.RMChanger.(frame label).buttonOnFrame = function
I have to move a text box in and out over the MC backgrounds on the main stage... which is why I was thinking to do it this way? I've been switching back and forth bwtween AS2.0 and 3.0
I am having trouble with a job I am doing at the moment which has an mc with buttons within it. I want it so that when I roll over the mc it tweens from a small version to a larger version, and on this mc there are some buttons. At the moment I can get the mc to move but the buttons remain inactive and also the rollover states on the buttons don't work. I have attached a simpler version of what I am trying to do to this post.

I am using Flash CS4 with actionscript 2 to create an interacitve portfolio.I have 2 text buttons that work when I test them with "enable simple buttons." When I publish to IE these buttons won't work. I have created over 50 buttons using the same methods, they all work.

I am trying to add a simple "getURL" type of functionality to a movieclip so that when it is clicked on, the user is taken to a url. i have tried 3 or 4 different ways to do this that all work when i test the movie clip in flash. However, when i embed the swf in a webpage, the click function does not work.I created a function:

In my simple flash file, on stage i put a symbol button. I have named it btnclick.

ok it work! If I apply the graphic on symbol with cut and paste from Adobe Illustrator, it doesn't work. The error is :

When I played Pogo Payday Freecell, if I'd right-click on a hidden card it would show that card. Now (on Flash 10.3) if I right click I get a pull down menu with show card - press space bar, Global setting and Adobe written.
I've also noticed on a number of other sites that right click now bring up this pul down menu with Adobe written on the bottom. How can I change the settings so they work like they used to?

When i click the movieclip, i call a function that return an array, then i create amovieclip (mc_container) with a number of textfield (number based on array lenght) on it.Now, if i click one time only i get the mc_container without any textfield, while if i click twice i get the mc_container with all the text field. How come?

View 4 RepliesI am trying to build a website that uses the XML menu in kirupa tutorials. However, I am trying to customise it but I am having problems trying to solve this impossible task! Basically, instead of it being a drop down menu, I am trying to make the menu work on Click instead on RollOver. When the user clicks "on" a link, the link will keep an on state. And when the user clicks on the sub link, that sub link will keep an "on" state.
However, when the user selects a different menu item on the main level, the other "on" states will turn off. So basically I am trying to set up perhaps a variable that remembers which menu item is on and loops through the same level and automacally switches the other items off. Is that confusing? I AM!
having trouble getting some nav bar buttons click-able. two of the nav buttons have submenues that hold two buttons each. these are the one that won't click.

I have a movie clip on the stage which contains buttons and actions for various things. This works fine on its own...I have another button on the top level that does other things... This works fine on its own...What I need to do though is have a button over a button eg. When I press the button on the stage the single click actions both the button on the stage and the buttons in the movie clip.I know you can�t have two buttons on top of each other on the stage, so how can I achieve this through AS2.I click on one button and a click is replicated on the other button.

View 8 RepliesOften, but not always, the first few clicks on the "Allow" button on the Flash camera permissions dialog are ignored. This is very frustrating for users. And for me, when I'm testing code! I'm afraid I don't really know what else to say about the problem to give more insight. My hunch is that it has something to do with getting focus on the embed element, but that is merely a guess.

I've used flash like twice in my life, but I think I know how to make a button. I'm working on my artists portfolio online and I'm making it in flash. Basically it has buttons which link to photos and videos. There are 5 videos and 5 photographs. Now the problem is when you click on a button and watch a video buttons 1-3 of photos don't work. But the 4 and 5 buttons for photos work. It seems to only happen after you watch a video. The same actionscript is on all of them GotoandStop is the command I'm using for the photos and GotoandPlay for the videos.
View 3 RepliesI had all of my code working, then I moved all of my main movie timeline into a movie clip (body_mc)Main movie now has 1 frame.My body_mc has a navigation menu, one button is portfolio_bttn which takes you to that frame label. It persists through all frames of body_mc. This button works fine.I seem to have everything working except 4 buttons on the first frame of body_mc. They should all perform exactly the same function as portfolio_bttn. They exist only in frame 1.They work the first time you click one (any one).Navigate back to frame one of body_mc and all 4 buttons will no longer work.
