Professional :: Get Text Links In Flash To Work With A Single Click?
Jan 13, 2011I have created static text links in Flash (CS4) but they only work when published with a double-click.How do I get them to work with a single click?

Oct 12, 2011I tried searching for an answer but did'nt have much luck. I decided to finally learn how to do a web page in Flash and everything is progressing except for text links. I'm importing a .psd file and I keep the text as editable, the page has 5 text links plus a text logo, the logo text link works when tested (returning to the home page) but the links to the other pages do nothing.
I have tried each one seperately, pointing to both the intended page as well as the home page with no luck, the only one that I can get to work is the logo text. I have also tried grouping the text for links seperate from static text in Photoshop. I'm sure it's something simple and I'm probably over thinking things but whatever the case I can't get it to work.

Jul 24, 2010I have a huge problem. I have a menu in Flash MX (AS2), it's pretty straightforward: It's a list of links but each time you mouseover one several related ones highlight (the client really wanted this). The code on each button is:

This works fine in IE8, it works fine in the preview in flash, but in FF/Chrome the rollovers work but the link is not clickable. Nothing happens on click. I thought this was perhaps a plug in issue, but when I loaded the movie in FF but not embeded into html it worked fine, it's only when it's embedded into html that the links won't click. Apr 17, 2011Is there any way I can embed HTML in flash? I know I can do this with text boxes but is there any other way I can do it? If not I know theres is the load feature where I can load text from a text file. With the html text box editing, Can i link that to the text file?. As in when you edit the text box with html could i have the textbox's instance name equal to the text file? With this my issue is with the <a href> in one textbox, I would like when i click those it open another text file in a different text box.
Clarification: I have two text boxes in my flash file.One has current products. And the other is the description of the product they select. I would like a way to edit and change the products in the first text box without having to keep using the FLA file. Which is why i am using this code

The contents of myText.txt are <a href=(not sure what to put here)> Product 1 </a> But all that does is put it in the text output section in flash.It does not show it in flash. I need help getting it to show up in a text box.That is the first part But the main problem is im not sure how to code the a href correctly so that when i click it, another text file opens in the second text box.So that when a user clicks on a product ,like "Product 1" It opens the correct description text file in the second text box.
Links Will Not Work Under Flash?
Jan 14, 2009I have a flash movie launch over my webpage when the page loads what the problem is is that when the flash is completed and unloads in the area where the movie showed up the links are not clickable. I have my wmode set to transparent and even have the unloadMovie at the end of the movie, this problem only occurs when using firefox how can I fix it?

Professional :: "Single Frame" Inside Nested Movieclip Doesn't Work, Always Changes The Whole Thing
Sep 6, 2010I have a character, every body part is a movieclip. Now I wanted to put a movieclip for the eyes inside of the headmovieclip so that I can change them independently from the mouth. So in the eye-movieclip that is inside of the head-movieclip I put two keyframes, one for opened eyes and one for closed eyes. I put it to "Single frame" in properties. Now, whenever I make a pose and I change the frame number under properties so that it displays the closed eyes, it does that for the whole movie, not only on the frames that I changed it.
I wanted to use that to control things like eyes, ears and the mouth individually but like this it won't work, it changes it for the whole animation.

Jun 20, 2011When I played Pogo Payday Freecell, if I'd right-click on a hidden card it would show that card. Now (on Flash 10.3) if I right click I get a pull down menu with show card - press space bar, Global setting and Adobe written.
I've also noticed on a number of other sites that right click now bring up this pul down menu with Adobe written on the bottom. How can I change the settings so they work like they used to?

I'm putting the text into external text files (HTML formatted), so I can change to text without affecting the rest of my project.The problem is I want to have text link (i.e different colored and underlines words) in the text that takes you to other parts of the resource (similar to a hyperlink in a web site). I want the text links to move the movie to a different area of the timeline.

Jul 12, 2011i have datagrid filling from mysql successfully.But when i click on a checkbox AND scroll down, i found one more checkbox selectd. Even the same number of extra checkboxes are get selected that i select manually. for example if i select 10 checkboxes and scroll down there will be 10 more chekboxes selected.
I used the bellow cellrender class for checkbox to show in datagrid.

If you can walk me through step by step how to do this,I have a Flash (AS3) intro homepage, the index page is already written and setup. A Mask and fill approach was used to create the animated effect in which the text gradually appears. In order to do the fill, the text 'Home' 'About' 'Works' 'Contacts' are all broken apart text (i.e. (H)(O)(M)(E)) Here's what I need to do and would not even know where to start. How do I convert each of the words which are made up of broken text, into navagation buttons as hyperlinks to the other documents in the page (i.e. convert (H)(O)(M)(E) into HOME which you can click on and be taken to index.htm)

Apr 6, 2011I have a flash accordion embedded using SWFObject. The SWF and related XML file are hosted on one domain. I have about 10 sites embedding this SWF from it's hosted location, both the SWF and the XML. The accordion links to various pages of my domains. The domain in which the SWF and XML file are hosted, the links work as expected. The other domains that the SWF is not hosted on, the links do not work at all. I verified it's a cross domain issue by placing the SWF and XML files locally on each domain and they worked, but this is not how I want it setup. I attempted to use crossdomain.xml and allow access from all hosts but that didn't work either.

Flash - Make A Projector Movie That Links To A Pdf. Im Able To Get It To Work On A Pc But Not On Mac?
Aug 25, 2011Im trying to make a projector movie that links to a pdf (in the same folder) on a CD that needs to run in both windows and mac. Im able to get it to work on a pc but not on mac. here is the code for the button i used in the projector.

and bat file open a pdf file.so i want to do the same thing for mac, that is using the fscommand to open up a pdf in acrobat. I read messages here that use applescript but i dont understand it too well so what id like to know if possible is the applescript, what it does and do i apply it to the button in my projector or do i tell the button to look at the applescript or what? I guess thats it for now.

Nov 23, 2010Working on the following site [URL] On the "What we Do" page (one click to the right) each company logo is linked using the Action Script 2 below. Only the "Zipfizz" button works though. The rest of the buttons only work very rarely. I made a stock button from a white box then turned the opacity to 0. Put one over every logo with the proper dimensions and gave them the right instance names. If you click the logo repeatedly in different areas the link will sometimes work. Anyone have an idea what's going on? I not very familiar with AS2, only AS3 but the site was built by another designer awhile ago.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash 9 - Dynamic Menu Links Do No Work (Get Undefined)
Oct 21, 2009I have a dynamically generated menu populated by two arrays, "menuTitles" and "menuLinks." Everything works great except the onRelease command. I get "undefined" instead of the contents of the array element (should be an HTML link). If I hard code the array element (menuLinks[1]) it works, but as it is, I just keep getting undefined.

Aug 30, 2010DId things change in regards to publishing scenes? I know I can publish preview a scene with the option-command-return, and that still works, however it does NOT replace the swf file in the location chosen in the Publish Settings.
I have an old .fla I need to get swfs published from each scene... this used to be a piece of cake.
