My dillema is that on my site when you load a video on one page then click on another page the audio keeps playing. I've had a look around other topics but nothing seems to work for me. I've put in things like videosname.stop() with no success.
View 25 RepliesI'm designing an interface for a class, and the buttons that I am using all have multiple functions.For example, when the story button is clicked, I need the mc to stop playing and change to text (in the same window/screen, just no mc playing). The mc is 31 frames long, but if there's a way to just make it loop continuously until told not to, Currently, my code looks like this:

When I click the button, the mc does not stop playing and the text does not show up.

I got it working fine, but was wondering how to program a function for another button to stop stop playing that sound?I tried a function with snd.stop(); but that seems to be incorrect.
I really just need help automatically loading one swf once the other is done playing without a button click.a.swf has several buttons. When a button is clicked an animation plays within a.swf. If button b is pressed, once it's animation plays in a.swf, I need it to automatically jump to b.swf.I have no idea where to go.

I'm trying to get a button to toggle playing or stopping an mp3 if I click it or hit the space bar. The code I have does that but it does something funny I don't understand. This is the code:

As you can see I've added two event listeners on the button, one for the mouse and for the spacebar. Thing is everytime I hit the spacebar, my function for the mouse click fires up. I don't understand how this is happening.Also, how do you have the event listener listen for a spacebar event without having to first focus on the button by clicking it with the mouse?
I have an image of a target on stage, that moves left and right. In the center of the image is an invisible button, occupying the centre circle of the target. The idea is you click the invisible button on the moving target and this starts another movie playing. Seems to me the action script should reside in the button, and be something like this:

I have a map of the US and each state has a rollover that changes the color of the state...what i am trying to figure out is how to click on the state and have text appear to the side of the US map and have that text stay up until the user clicks on another state.
View 16 RepliesI created an FLV of my movie and am using the Slideshowpro for flash component to play the FLV in my SWF. (Not the built in FLVPlayback component) The video is about 2 minutes long.At the end of the video playing I would like a button to pop up that people can press to send an email to request more information. I have no idea what the best way to go about doing this would be and I do not know AS well at all.Currently my only thought is to make my player.swf (the one that plays my video) as long as my video (appr. 2 minutes) and then fade in a button towards that people can use. This would probably work but it is probably not the most efficient way of accomplishing this.Does anyone have any suggestions? I have been searching for things like adding annotations to flash movies just as YouTube does but have not found anything so far.

The trace function works but when I try to insert "movie_flv.play();" underneath the trace function, I get this error message: 1120: Access of undefined property movie_flv.

As you can see that code made the multiple ball go to left and looping over and over again. So here's what I want to do. I want to make a button and when I click the button it'll change direction like click and it change direction to right. I click it again and it'll go left again. How do I write the code for that?
We have imported our video into flash cs4 (we are using presentation mode to mimic a powerpoint presentation), we have gone into the component inspector and altered it so it doesn't autoplay. When it is on autoplay, it plays the audio throughout the entire presentation. We want the video to start on click (hit the spacebar or return or anything).

I have a custom video player that loads videos from an external xml file. It uses all actionscript to control the video using the attatchVideo(ns).
At present the video starts playing as soon as the video opens, I would like the video to only start playing after the user clicks the play button.
What is the actionscript I need to achieve this?
* all the actionscript for all buttons etc. is on one layer called actions. Videos are external not on layers.
I am trying to create a little website in flash.. I have some video that plays automatically once the user goes to that section (I am using frame labels to navigate from section to section of the site). But, when the user clicks another button to go to a different page, the video is still playing because I hear it..How can I stop the video from playing once another button gets clicked?

View 1 RepliesI am still new to swish and flash and the script confuses me at times. I am doing it more for a hobby and to create interactive programs for my daughter to help her learn. I have made a parking ticket machine to help her tell the time and to count money. The problem I am having at the moment is that I am trying to make one button add 30seconds to a text box total every time it is clicked (for example click1 = 00:30, then click2 = 01:00, then click3 = 01:30 and so on). The problem I am having is that I have made an else/if statement to do just this but every time I click the button it just jumps to the last else/if and shows that total. I am trying to think logically but I may be making things more complicated or maybe the scripting is wrong and I need to try something else. Here is the script I have made for you to see and hopefully someone can tell me what I have done wrong.

I have a button to increase the scale of few items. It's suppose to increase the size with every single click. When I click the button continuously having the mouse unmoved and over, it wont increase the size. But if I rool out of the button between every click, then I works. I need to make button function with every click.

i put a code in to Flash AS3 to go to another frame when the play button is clicked, and it has worked successfully. But when it goes on to the other frame and i click, the play button comes up and keeps making the game i've made restart. Does anyone know how i can stop the function after it's gone onto the next frame?
