View 1 RepliesWe have a flash object and when we use blockUI or some other overlay div with opacity < 1, it doesn't make the flash area transparent. However, it do hides the flash object when opacity is 1, but I want to have the overly div transparent which make the flash area transparent too like it doing for other HTML objects.
Here is the code expert:

For overlay div we are using jQuery.blockUI and FancyBox (when we need to some popup and block the UI). We also tried to overlay the flash object using a div with z-index. It overlays and hides the flash when opacity is 1 but not when it's < 1.
Here is the screen shot:

I've got a small table populated with information from a database that I'm trying to deploy as a table above a flash movie.
Here's the DIV ID for this:
However, no matter what I do the table keeps displaying BEHIND the flash images. The table is in a layer set an visability at 1 while the flash is set at 0.
And if you information for both mac and pc platforms even better.
I'm working on a page that has some ads on it. One of them loads in an ad with wmode=window.I don't have the ability to change that flash code. I need to put a modal box on top of that flash element, but every combination of using z-indexes and iframe shims has failed (both manually and using bgiframe). Is there a way to place html content on top of a flash element with wmode=window? I'm testing this in chrome so far.
View 2 RepliesI've just started working on a Flash-based annotation tool. How it works is I place a transparent flash movie in a DIV over a HTML page and draw on it.Now the drawing part turned out to be fairly simple and I found numerous examples to get me free-form drawing. Its the erasing that's driving me nuts. All the examples out there I looked at either cleared the entire canvas, or let me click on specific drawings to take them off the canvas. I need an MS-Paint style eraser that just rubs things in its path.I could draw in white to simulate erasing, but that wont work. I have a transparent flash movie and the background HTML needs to show through.Here's the script for the drawing bit I picked up from Adobe, and on which I'm trying to build the eraser.
Code:
init();
stop();
function init() {[code]....
[url]...would it be possible to integrate HTML pages into this template using AS3.0. Specifically, I would like to put the HTML page inside one of the modules, and have it appear and dissappear just like the other modules, except the content would be HTML driven.
I would like the HTML page to load with an animation like the module backgrounds do, but the content can be easily customized because it's HTML.
I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
a:link {text-decoration: none;}
a:active {text-decoration: none;}
a:visited {text-decoration: none;}[code]....
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.
Wondering if anyone can tell me whether it is possible to take an excel spreadsheet with its equations and all and place it into a Flash file so that it can work within the flash presentation.
Or would the only way to do this be to code the whole thing into flash from the start?
My website will have a logo on the header that will play as a flash movie (animated flash movie .swf). I am looking for code / algorithm that will display an image with the same dimensions as the flash movie if Flash is not installed or enabled for the current user accessing the site. How do I do this?
View 2 RepliesI was wondering if anyone has came up with a way to float html elements, with some content, over .swf without triggering any flash events.
In my case the problem is I have flash map, and drop down menu on top of it.
I simplified this into the following example:

If you mouseover any elements in gray box, you will see that stuff behind it, in a flash file, triggers hover effects.
new using flash, is it possible to load an html or htm file in a flash movie clip?
View 1 RepliesCan you place php varibles in the html wrapper for a swf, that could be read into the swf when it loads?Perhaps using a param?
$myVariable = "$var1,$var2,$var3";
like this with php in the html?
<param name=FlashVars value="$myVariable" />
or perhaps ?
<param name=FlashVars value="myVariable=$myVariable" />
Then perhaps in the swf with as3 using something like this?
var myloader:URLLoader = new URLLoader()
myloader.load(new URLRequest(this.root.loaderInfo).parameters))
myloader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onLoaded)
[code]...
Unsure how to access it using the correct path to the param and then how to get the php variable $myVariable into myloader.data?
I have a flash file which loads an XML file containing links to my photos.var listLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader( new URLRequest("filelist.xml") );When I test out the Flash movie through Flash, there are no problems.When I place it in my index file, the XML file no longer loads. (just the swf)When I place the XML file in the same directory and the XML and swf files, it loads the images.[code]I've also changed the url in actionscript to:var listLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader( new URLRequest("mediaflashfilelist.xml") );

View 1 RepliesI have multiple ideas/designs which want to work into my new site. How do I set this up in AE, HTML or Flash?

I'm in the process of making a web page that'll successfully checked as XHTML 1.0 Transitional ([URL]), but as soon as I place in the fixit.js script under the flash object and view the page in IE, all the flash elements turn white. Quote:

Anyone knows how to place in flash files in xhtml files on IE without manually controls by clicking on the flash file.
I'm having some problems inserting my ammap into my webpage. I've read through the documentation and it isn't helping. The map works with if I use the .html file in my original folder but all the paths are relative and I'm trying to make this work in an ASP.NET MVC project using visual studio. It's rather tough to explain the problem since I don't know what's wrong (no javascript or flash debugger).Here is the code that embeds the ammap:
<script type="text/javascript" src="../../Content/AlcoholAndWar/WarStuff/ammap/swfobject.js"></script>
<div id="flashcontent">

Let me give the context first. A user opens a local html file which has a reference to a network url of an swf file to embed.
(1) If the embed swf requests a local image file , will Flash allow the request?
(
2) If the embed swf requests an image file on a non local url other than one of the swf file, will Flash check a crossdomain.xml file on the url?
When I use swfobject (or, for that matter, publish from Flash)...if my HTML file is in the same folder as my Flash .swf (called "bin")...the flash file displays as a blank white page. I can tell the .swf is on the page, because when I right-click I see the flash context menu...however, the swf is blank. So the path isn't written incorrectly.If I move the HTML file inside the "bin" folder and change the path from "bin/myFile.swf" to "myFile.swf" everything works again...what gives?I think it might have something to do with using the Loader class...I am using loaders to loader external .jpeg files. But I don't know what to do about this other than to keep my HTML files in my "bin" folder which is a bit of a pain.

How to make this smoke effect work without mouse input. I am trying to have it spill from the end of a cannon, & my attempts to modify the position have resulted in all my bitmaps shifting. I changed this

To this
doTrail(_root, _x=80, _y=100, currentBitmap);

How do I have a file that's created via actionscript save the file in some other location other than the default, really long appdata/roaming/Macromedia/etc./etc. directory? I'm using the SharedObject.getLocal syntax, but is there another syntax I need to use so that I can save the file in a directory called appdata/roaming/MyApplicationName ?
View 1 RepliesI've got a javascript file that I need to load into my Flex 3 project. I access it in the HTML wrapper like so:
<script src="myJSFile.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
I use Google Code's library to access JQuery.
Is it okay to put the javascript file in the html-template folder? The idea being that it would be included in the release build. Any reason not to do so? Will this cause an error?

how should i code the placement of all the money?
i would go:
_root.attachMovie(
_root.attachMovie(
_root.attachMovie(
but that's not the good solution is it?
there must be a code to do that without hundreds of lines of code.
