Friends, I am using Actionscript 2.0 and want to scroll simple text. I did it with the default scrollbar component and it works fine.
But the issue is that I have some subscript and superscript in my text and this option is disabled in the dynamic text field.
My text is like:- CO2 + H2O

View 0 RepliesHow would I go about Embedding SubScript/SuperScript fonts in a Flex UITextField ? I have already downloaded the required fonts. I need to make them work in a UITextField in Flex. I have tried using CSS/Stylemanager etc. , and tried using createInFontContext also... Still it does not work. The fonts only work if they are installed on the user PC. i.e. they do not get embedded in to the application.

create superscipt number, or to hack it in dynamic text fields? I'm using XML along w/ a number of CSS styles and I can't find a way to achieve this. One option would be a nice small pixel font thats designed to looked like superscript numerals.

I have seen many tutorials dealing with logging in to PHP using flash but it requires you to make your own php scripts which i am not familiar with. Is there a way to pass the textfield A text to a dynamic text input (flash) as I'd like to use the font embedding flash offers. I can make it work when loading a value from a txt file but I'm not sure how to access the value identified above as KitGroupID_16_TextOption_38 and make it appear in a dynamic input box. Eventually I might want to have 3 font choices for the user but I'd like to just see if I can get this working properly first.

View 1 RepliesI'm creating an XML-driven pie chart in AS3 with 2 text boxes in each pie slice. Both text fields are dynamic in the sense that they are populated by the XML doc and then told where to place themselves in the AS3. I've got them both using the same x and y position to place themselves at the moment (which of course puts them right one top of each other), but I'd like to make one of the fields (which acts like a label or a title to the larger number and % text field) place itself in a particular spot around the other text field. The result I'm looking for is to have the smaller "title" text field appear approximately 5 pixels above and left-justified to the larger "percentage" field.
Anyway, here are two sections of code that I've currently got. The first chunk, for the Tags portion, sets the position for the "percentage" text field using a good old x and y method. The second chunk, for Titles, is setting the position for the smaller "title" text.

I am working in Flash CS5 and I have placed a text field (dynamic, classic text) on the stage. I am accessing it through Actionscript on the same frame like this:

What ACTUALLY appears is this: So... The H, Ls, and D are gone. Mysteriously. Without warning. I am sitting here utterly confused. Is this just me?
PS. The text field is set to Myriad Pro Bold, a font on my computer, so it isn't like it's a font problem.

What I'm trying to do is to write something in an input field and then it should show up in a dinamic field. I can make this happen, but the problem is that the dinamic field shows its new text in the same format as the Input field. For example, the input text is written in TimesNewRoman and the dinamic text is in Arial, but when the dinamic text shows the input, the text is still in TimesNewRoman when I want it to be in Arial.

I have a 3 word phrase that needs to be in my flash movie, and it needs to be localized. I'm using an external AS file for all my code. Figured I would just make a flash var and pass our string value in that way. So I made a dynamic text field, gave it an instance name of "mytextfield" which is in a MC called "detail_mc".
Just for kicks I tested my code on the stage just on a keyframe, this was the code:

That worked for my test. So I took this over to my AS file and there is just no magic happening.

But the problem is, if the client doesn't have the "TF2 Build" font, the font will be Times New Roman.I would like to know to attach the font to the .swf file.
Using CS5, and certain letters simply won't show up in my dynamic text field. Not even a blank shows up, they just get stripped out. 'g' and 'v' are two of the letters, so the string 'v testing' shows up on the stage as 'testin'.
It doesn't seem to matter if I start with the string already in there, or add it dynamically. Here are the settings, but they don't really seem to matter either, I've experimented:

Anti-alias for animation

I have created a 3d wall and I'm passing images and linking through xml. Now I have added the description, but it just displays in the middle. I don't know how to align it. On mouse over, the description of that photo should display there itself, but it is not displaying in the middle (for all the photos).

Well, i would like to set the color of the menu items to red when clicked and back to black when any other menu item is clicked. I know there is a way with actionscript (i have been going on circles around the color class the hole afternoon ) but i cant find it (i admit, im quite a dummy with AS).
