Jul 15, 2010How would I go about Embedding SubScript/SuperScript fonts in a Flex UITextField ? I have already downloaded the required fonts. I need to make them work in a UITextField in Flex. I have tried using CSS/Stylemanager etc. , and tried using createInFontContext also... Still it does not work. The fonts only work if they are installed on the user PC. i.e. they do not get embedded in to the application.

Jan 24, 2006create superscipt number, or to hack it in dynamic text fields? I'm using XML along w/ a number of CSS styles and I can't find a way to achieve this. One option would be a nice small pixel font thats designed to looked like superscript numerals.

Subscript can be entered when developing the application, but can it be displayed when the application is running? Is there any way I can apply subscript to numbers that are entered automatically?
I would like a student to enter some text, highlight the characters they want in subscript, and then click a subscript button that calls some actionscript.

Professional :: Character Limit For Dynamic Text Box?
Jul 12, 2011Is there a character or word limit for the dynamic text box in Flash CS5? I am using Classic Text and am copying a large amount of text (about 4,700 words or 31,740 characers with spaces) into the text field, but the text is cut off at a certain point (at about 2,600 words or 17,795 characters). I'm using a UIScrollbar on the text box.The full text can be copied into Flash CS3 but not CS5 so what is going on? Did Adobe create a word limit in the new version? is there some other way around this, other than splitting up the text into 2 text fields? I should note that I cannot use TLF text for compatibility issues in case that is a possible solution.

Mar 4, 2010I'm using an auto complete component and a labelFunction so that user have the ability to search by their name or id. Once the search is completed I'd like to extract the data to a query.
The only problem is that I only need the name or id for the query not both, so I'd like to pull from just the id variable...
Currently if the user types - Joe or if they type - 13
Both would return a result of Joe - 13 via the auto complete component.
I'm using a dash - To separate the results visually. So I'd like to know if theres a way to extract text from a text field up to a certain character in this case a dash.

May 12, 2010I am trying to get the position of the last character in the text field. The below script works fine till I change the width of the text from 110 to 109 or add some extra characters in the text field. For some reason the value of frame variable returns null if I change the width from 110 to 109 or add some extra characters in the field.
