ActionScript 2.0 :: 2 Diff. Photo Sizes Depending On Screen Resolution?

Jan 29, 2006

I am thinking of having 2 diff. versions of images in an XML driven photo gallery. The flash movie is full browser (no scale) with elements that adjust to the size of the browser window. I'd like some of the images to be presented pretty large, but only if the user has enough screen resolution. If using a smaller screen, then it would display the smaller version.

Anyway to do this efficiently (yes I am prepared to upload 2 different versions of each image)? Or is this a bad idea with too much maintenance?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Swfs Depending On Screen Resolution

Dec 19, 2006

I had done a swf content for some major resolution ..flash800.swf,flash1200.swf,flash1600.swf. I load a swf at first which detects the x resolution of a screen and then loads appropriate content. the problem is that tke decision-making swf loads that flash movie into itself , so I have to do the checking resolution swf the maximum width and height the same as in the biggest (flash1600.swf) movie loaded into it....that makes all my work meaningless.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Resize XML Gallery Depending User's Screen Resolution?

Mar 29, 2010

Anybody has an idea how to accomplish something similar with the gallery in this website?

I have an XML gallery in my project that has pre-specified numbers of columns.
- How it could be possible to detect user's screen resolution (use of Event.RESIZE?) and according to this to change the number of columns - and of course rows?

Forgot to mention that I load records from a database so I am not aware of the total number of images...

At the moment I have sized the photos to the size I want, but if a photo is not that "Specific" size it will overlap my text next to it... How can I fix the size of this movie clip to show the images without it blowing out my design? I have sized all the images to: 230px x145px If they are not this size the design will not work, I need to fix the window to 230px x145px

ActionScript 2.0 :: Xml Photo Gallery - Image Sizes And Quality

Aug 23, 2006

I've been working with the xml photo gallery tutorial on this site, and pretty much have it the way I want, except I am having some serious issues with the image sizes and quality, and cannot figure this one out.. The problem is that when the jpg images are loaded in dynamically they look horrible in quality. I searched and searched for an answer to this and couldn't really find anything that I had already tried... The only thing I could really think of was to rebuild my site at a larger scale and publish with 'match movie' instead of 'percent'.

After all that work... I'm having something very crazy going on, but it should help diagnose the problem.. When I rebuilt the site and re-did the images to match the exact pixels, for some reason now they are super big. I've looked at my code and can't see any scaling going on.. I don't know what is happening, so I'm going to supply all available resources:

Practicly, every visitor will see the same size of the site, even if he has 800x600 or 1280x1024??Maybe making html go fullscreen but make the swf occupy only 80% of the screen, so it always have the same proportion to the users monitors.Do you have any example?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Fit Swf To Screen Resolution

Jun 11, 2010

I have researched this and found lots of information but I am fairly new to actionscript and scripting in general. Here is what I am trying to do. I am working on a site that is already setup and ready to go. What I am creating is a very basic 15 second flash intro/flyer that will show up and eventually redirect to the main site. Like I said this is a very basic flash with basic tweening however my main issue is that we want this one picture to fill up the entire browser window without getting cut off no matter what resolution. I don't care how it is accomplished whether it is actionscript, java,

Elements That Adjust To Screen Resolution

Mar 2, 2011

I'd like to know where to look for documentation on how to make elements that adjust to the site resolution, or what this technique is called.

Like in here (the floating clip on the left upper corner, there is a menu divided into 2 parts like float:left and :right (like I would make this in css))

[URL]

Basically I'd need a menu always aligned to the bottom-center of the page that won't change the size, but the background always stretched proportionally to the width of the page upon resizing.

I figure this is something that can be corrected in the HTML file so if someone can show me what exactly I need to put into that file, that would be great. Actionscript :: Reliably Capture Screen Resolution?

Sep 16, 2009

I have several components who's screen position depends on the resolution of the monitor on which the browser lives. The problem I'm encountering is that the flash.system.Capabilities method pulls the resolution of the primary monitor attached to the computer. In most situations this isn't a problem but on one of my computers, I have a 1680x1050 and a 1440x900. At work, I have a 1920x1200 and a 1680x1050, so if I open the page in a browser on the smaller monitor, things are not centered and my tools panel is completely off to the right of the screen.

I have a block of javascript that I've tried, both in html and through php but the problem is that if I use either httpRequest or urlLoader to grab the html file, I get the source of html and if I try the php script, I get a script block that is attempting to write a cookie. If that page has not been visited prior to loading the flash site, or if cookies are disabled, it never gets written and I'm nowhere. Is there a method that I can use, that doesn't rely on cookies, to detect the resolution of the monitor that the browser is actually on, and not just the resolution of the first monitor?
