View 1 RepliesThe problem that I'm facing is in regards to the width of a sliding menu that I've created. The menu slides based on mouse x position and width of the movie. I would like the menu to fit to the entire screen regardless of the users resolution. I wanted to know if there's a way to detect a users screen width and then adjust the variable for screen width within my actionscript .fla if necessary.
View 10 RepliesI am trying to figure out how to detect screen resolution through Flash.For example i want to move a "movieclip" to a specific point if the height of the screen resolution is smaller than 768.
Actionscript:
if(screen.height < 768){
movieclip._y = 200;
}
I think i should use this property but i don't know how to implement it!
trace(System.capabilities.screenResolutionY);
I want to make an application with an image that only bounces to the users screen resolution. How can I go by detecting the users screen resolution in flex 4? (If you can that is.)

View 1 RepliesRegarding System.capabilities.screenResolutionX in FMX, how would I achieve a movie clip on my stage to automatically alight to the left of the screen/browser depending on the viewers screen resolution?
View 1 RepliesIs there a way that I can find out the screen resolution of a users screen? I want to add scroll bars for users with a resolution lower than 1440X900 and if u have 1440x900 or greater it wont show the scroll bars.
View 5 RepliesI created a swf file for one my clients using a screen size of 1024px x 768px (4:3 ratio), now my client wants to re-use the video in a bigger screen (TV) that still uses a 4:3 ratio but the screen size is considerably bigger (I do not have the exact size yet). Do I need to recreate the flash file using images that fit the new screen size, or the fact that they both use a 4:3 aspect ratio means that the image quality will not suffer?
View 1 RepliesJust want to find out something... I have a .swf video file which I open with the normal Adobe Flash player 10. What happens is that when I open that file in a smaller screen resolution there's some parts missing (cuts it off around the edges).
How can I resize the content to fit in any screen resolution?
I almost finished a website for a customer, it's a full flash website running at almost 1024/768px...BUT this guy still use a lower screen resolution and tell me I have to resize evertything down...meaning a lot lot people will find this website ridiculously little.
View 6 RepliesI am editing my website, a full flash site bought from Template Monsters and it seem there is a problem with screen resolution. When i publish the fla in flash only, it fits the screen exactly with no scroll bar but when i publish in html the flash content is bigger than screen size and menu bar stays outside the screen in the way that i have to scroll down to see menu contents and tabs.In order to make this site more user friendly I have tried to resize the screen to a smaller but seems to be not a good idea. I have also tried to use different .js and includes in order to solve the problem but still not giving the result i am looking for.
View 5 RepliesHow can I make my flash Webpage displayed same size on any screen resolution of my computer? Whether it is 1024 X 768 or 1280 X 960 screen resolution, the size of Webpage (Flash Webpage) should always be same so that user don't need to use horizantal scroll bar to view all the content.
And secondly, how can I scroll my webpage vertical on moving with my mouse like in the following link: The below link also shows that it's webpage size is always same on any screen resolution.[url]...
Can someone recommend a good solution for a Windows based wrapper around a Flash application(or even IE, in which I can call Flash), that would launch as an executable and force the screen to a specific resolution and then render the Flash in that (full screen) window?
View 2 RepliesI am developing a flash based website using mxml. My monitor's resolution is 1280x768 and is widescreen. The problem is while it appears properly in my screen it doesn't appear properly in others.
-Let scrollbars take care of it : If the screen is 14 inch screen with 800x600 resolution it appears zoomed in. So that's a problem
-Get screen resolution and resize using scaleX and scaleY : The graphic components will get resized but fonts give problem.
We are building a flash based product (coded in flash builder) and need to ensure that the font size is readable for all standard screen resolutions- we coded fontsize to be a fraction of screen dimensions... still we find that it looks smaller on low resolution and larger on higher resolution
we dont have this problem with other assets like containers/images etc
why this happens? Any thoughts on how we can make it uniform across screen resolutions?
I have researched this and found lots of information but I am fairly new to actionscript and scripting in general. Here is what I am trying to do. I am working on a site that is already setup and ready to go. What I am creating is a very basic 15 second flash intro/flyer that will show up and eventually redirect to the main site. Like I said this is a very basic flash with basic tweening however my main issue is that we want this one picture to fill up the entire browser window without getting cut off no matter what resolution. I don't care how it is accomplished whether it is actionscript, java,
View 5 RepliesI'd like to know where to look for documentation on how to make elements that adjust to the site resolution, or what this technique is called.
Like in here (the floating clip on the left upper corner, there is a menu divided into 2 parts like float:left and :right (like I would make this in css))
[URL]
Basically I'd need a menu always aligned to the bottom-center of the page that won't change the size, but the background always stretched proportionally to the width of the page upon resizing.
I have published my Flash site to the web server but I notice that it doesn't display correctly in smaller resolutions (I think the smallest it looks best in is 1024 x 768)... the bottom keeps getting cut off when viewed in any small resolution. I figure this is something that can be corrected in the HTML file so if someone can show me what exactly I need to put into that file, that would be great. My site is here if you need to reference it:[URL]..
View 17 Replieshow do you get actionscript to scale an swf so that its size is an equivalent ratio to the users computers screen resolution.i didnt really think flash and html worked like that.thought it was best to design with the size of users screen resolution inmind as well as boarders of whatever it is ur building

View 6 Repliesi was wondering how others have designed applications, such as photo galleries, that automatically adjust to the resolution of the screen on which it's being viewed, as opposed to adding or removing scroll bars to view just a standard, presized bg image, as in HTML.
I assume this is a certain line of ActionScript, but like I said
way to get the screen resolution of the user's computer by using any action script code.
View 2 RepliesI have several components who's screen position depends on the resolution of the monitor on which the browser lives.The problem I'm encountering is that the flash.system.Capabilities method pulls the resolution of the primary monitor attached to the computer. In most situations this isn't a problem but on one of my computers, I have a 1680x1050 and a 1440x900. At work, I have a 1920x1200 and a 1680x1050, so if I open the page in a browser on the smaller monitor, things are not centered and my tools panel is completely off to the right of the screen.
I have a block of javascript that I've tried, both in html and through php but the problem is that if I use either httpRequest or urlLoader to grab the html file, I get the source of html and if I try the php script, I get a script block that is attempting to write a cookie. If that page has not been visited prior to loading the flash site, or if cookies are disabled, it never gets written and I'm nowhere.Is there a method that I can use, that doesn't rely on cookies, to detect the resolution of the monitor that the browser is actually on, and not just the resolution of the first monitor?
How can i detect my client's screen resolution .. in Flex??
View 2 Repliesi would like to create some Flex Desktop Application that will be always in front of other applications (appWindow.alwaysInFront = true). It should looks like tiny bar at the top of the screen (eg. width = screenWidth, height = 50px). I know how to do that. But I have problem with other applications - when i maximize them, they are under my application. Is there any way how to say to the system, that maximized resolution for other apps is other than default?
