ActionScript 2.0 :: BitmapData - Creating New BGHolder Clip On Resize

Aug 21, 2008

I am using bitmapdata to make me a nice lil' background image, and it works great...until it's resized. Whats happening is it's creating a new bgHolder clip on the resize, NOT resizing the current empty clip "bgHolder"

Here's the code:
import flash.display.BitmapData;
#include "mc_tween2.as"
Stage.align = "TL";
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
var myListener:Object = new Object();
myListener.onResize = function() {

ActionScript 3.0 :: BitmapData Resize And Rotation

Nov 22, 2010

I'm having some problems manipulating an image with AS3 and Flash Player 10. I've managed to edit a Bitmap from a local image by changing it's size and rotation with the help of class Matrix. The problem is that now I want to save the new image to the disk as a PNG file. I'm using a PNG as encoder that requires a BitmaData. When I passed that Bitmap.bitmapData all of the matrix changes do not get reflected in the bitmapData.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Dynamic Image Resize + BitmapData Smoothing?

Sep 11, 2007

I'm creating a dynamic image gallery that resizes the images to fit the gallery size, and then smooths them out.I feel like I'm super close to getting it to work perfectly. The image smoothing always works, but the resizing is kind of iffy. The first image displayed will resize just fine, but when you view any others they're all distorted or squashed. What's strange is that I've traced out the resized image dimensions and they're exactly what they should be, but the images are still not resizing correctly.

Here's my code! I only included the parts of it that are really relevant, but let me know if you guys want to see all of it. It's a combination of a few tutorials that I found. I may be able to provide a live example, but it's for work so I'm not sure how the nondisclosure agreement would affect that.

Code:
var thisWidth:Number;
var thisHeight:Number;
var maximumHeight:Number;//height to which movieclip to be resized

ActionScript 3.0 :: Creating Masks From BitmapData

Oct 17, 2009

I'm trying to modify the alpha layer of a bitmapData by taking a source iamge and masking out areas that don't have the correct channel. ATM I'm using copyChannel to achieve the effect, but I'd liek more than 3 channels (use alpha kills the other channels it seems). 255, 0, 255 should be able to act as another mask.

This is what I'm doing now...

Code:
bitmap.bitmapData.copyChannel(tempMask, new Rectangle(0, 0, tempMask.width, tempMask.height), new Point(0, 0), BitmapDataChannel.RED, BitmapDataChannel.ALPHA);

So the red parts of the image mask out the source image. All I want is to be able to mask out things basic on multiple channels (the lesser of the 2).

1) How does copyChannel work? Can I just test each pixel manually and achieve relatively similar speeds? and 2) if the Flash inline functions are infact faster, is there a function that can do what I want, or would it be better to use a shader?

Code:
var tempBitmapData:BitmapData = new BitmapData(tempMask.width, tempMask.height);
var matrix:Array = [];
matrix = matrix.concat([0, 0, 0, 0, 0]); // red
matrix = matrix.concat([0, 0, 0, 0, 0]); // green

ActionScript 1/2 :: BitmapData.Draw With Masked Movie Clip?

Jan 17, 2010

I'm using BitmapData.Draw to draw a masked movieclip to a bitmap.Flash behaves very strangely in many different ways. To give a couple examples:1) Normally, the position of the mask is relative to the masked object. Ex. if I Draw() the movie clip at 10,10 and the mask's position is 20,20, then during the Draw() the mask will effectively be at 30,30. Weird, but consistent. However, if I Draw() the mask to another surface first, and then Draw() the movie clip, the mask position will be absolute (20,20 in the example)

Code:

for (i=0; i < 6; i++){
MyEvent = Event[i].attributes ;
_root.screen["Event"+i].Title.text = MyEvent.Title ;

It works but not as expected. It looks like only the container is scaled down not the image really.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Resize Child Clip From Parent

Aug 12, 2010

I'm working on a project for my elementary school students using a book, some mp3s, and some images of text. The main movie clip is called "halloweenWitch" and it's about 10,000 frames long. Every 500 frames or so there's a keyframe for new images of the text. I'm trying to access child movie clips (mc0-mc18) to tween (resize) using code that I found here. [URL] However when I try to access the children with:

Code:
Effects.resizeIt(halloweenWitch.mc0,1,2,2);
From the main timeline I get an error.
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

When I debugged the program it said that the problem was this line in my Effects.as file.
Code:
targetMC.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, resizing,false,0,true);
targetMC.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, resizing2,false,0,true);

I think it has something to do with initialization but I'm not sure how to write a function that would tell the stage to wait until all objects inside halloweenWitch are present, nor even if that's what I'm supposed to do.
Code:
targetMC.addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init);
??

ActionScript 2.0 :: Resizing Movie Clip Does Not Resize Text?

Imagine I have a movie clip on the main timeline that has text in it. If I use the free transform tool on this clip, it resizes the movie and the text within.

However, if I resize the clip using AS2 e.g. clip._height = x; then the clip is resized but the text isn't.

Is there an easy way of achieving the effect that the transform tool has using AScript or do I have to set all the text params separately when I resize the movie

Actionscript 3 :: Quickly Rotate The Pixels That Make Up BitmapData Without Using BitmapData.draw()?

Dec 29, 2011

I've been using BitmapData.copyPixels() to draw graphics onto a canvas (Bitmap).I need to rotate the resulting graphics without the use of draw() because it's vastly slower.How can I rotate the target graphic? I'm assuming that there might be a formula or library that I can use which will first reorganize the pixels that make up a graphic based on an origin (point) and radians.I'm pretty certain that I'm not capable of creating such logic, so if there are any known libraries that do this, that would be awesome.I'd like to achieve something similar to XNA's SpriteBatch.Draw() method, which accepts rotation as its 5th argument.
