ActionScript 2.0 :: Button To Slide MovieClip Up Or Down

I have a movieclip which is basically several images ontop of each other, I need to have 2 buttons that 'slide' the movieclip up or down by say 120 pixels. Ideally with a bit of a bounce like a fruit machine but if not just the usually smooth movement...
I have a menu bar as a movie clip and another movie clip acting as a slider. I want to on pressing a button on the Menu bar movie clip get the slider to slide across with easing. however I don't want the easing to be infinite so can't use a this._x*=.9 or some decimal < 1. Loop function only acts on the single frame so it too quick to see.
I am using currentSlide.gotoNextSlide to change between slides, however I can't make it stop playback on load of each slide.I have a motion tween with I need to NOT play automatically when the slide loads... but no matter how many iterations of stop(), gotoAndStop(), etc I use, nothing will stop the clip from playing when it is loaded!
I have 11 images i need to _x slide (left and right ) using 2 buttons. ( next and back )my goal is to show two images at a time ( contained inside img_MC..consisting of all 11) inside a 748 x 419 mask. I have accomplished this but the next button and the back button need to disapear when img_mc is at a certain _x position...so that if you are at the last frame you can only go back...and if you are at the first frame you can only go next.
so far going forward I can get next to show...and going back I can get back to show...but in the middle when I need them both to be there I only have one or the other.
I have these buttons I'm working on, and I'm using telltarget to make mouse rollover and rollout effects. But how can I make it, so when I push something, that button slides in and stays, and when I hit another button, that button slides out, and a new one slides in?
I'm trying to create a basic slideshow in which the viewer uses buttons to advance through the slides/images. After I click the button to move to the second image, the button no longer works to advance to the next photo. Unfortunately Flash doesn't display an error message so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm guessing that since I'm an ActionScript newbie it's something relatively simple that I'm missing. I'm having problems with the buttons on this. As you can see the buttons won't make the menus slide the other way, almost like they're not recognisable. I have read several tutorials on moving objects around but i have had no luck finding one that tells how to put a simple function of sliding a movie one way and then another way when mousing over 2 different buttons.
I have a photo i want to slide on mouse over to the left for one button but stop at a certain point and then another button that would make it slide to thr right but only to the end of the photo.
Does anyone know the best way to do this and the easiest and cleanest coded way?
I have created a slide out menu using a tutorial (http:url...) the only differences are my buttons slide out to the right and they should do this when the user mouses over and then slide back when they mouse out. Unfortunately I am getting an error on the rollOut which I apply to 'dummy button' movie clip in the dropdown movie clip which allows the 2nd menu to slide back. This is the actionscript I'm using:

I've got a clip which gets multiple clips attached dynamically.I'd like to make it scroll up or down based on user mousing over it and mouse position. I want it to ease and to increase in speed if the user mouses further up or down.[code]

I am creating a flash slide presentation to use as part of an online portfolio. I have created a presentation that so far has three slides, each containing a flv that I imported and added a skin to.Is there any way to stop the movie on slide one (besides manually) when I move to slide two? I don't care if the mvie returns to the begining or not i just want to beable and view the video on slide two without hearing the sound from slide one.

wondering if this is a Global Variable problem? Is there any reason that the "variables" variable would stop populating after the first slide? Obviously, they are getting to the last slide since the submit button is passing them (or is the external file doing it?), but don't know why the post ones are not going.
I'm working on a slideshow presentation which cycles through ten slides. It also has ten buttons so that you can go between the slides.My problem is that I want the button to stay hovering while it's on it's specific slide.Right now when you hover over a button it will "rise" and when you mouse off it "lowers" I need the button to stay in the risen position while it's on it's specific slide, then lower when it transitions out and then the next button will rise in it's specific slide.

I have a line of 12 horizontal placed buttons. I want whatever button is rolled over to get larger (no problem), but I need the other buttons to slide over to allow for the new size that the larger one would bring. I have no idea what type of code I should be looking for here.
I built a slideshow system a while back and have revisited the code. At the time I was getting an error so I just wrapped the function that was failing in a try and using brute force made it run the same function again and all worked but isn't very elegant. I click the next slide button in quick succession I get a #1009 error. Its as though the afterslideload function is firing even though there is properly loaded yet.This is actually a plug-in that hooks onto the back of the JW player. It picks up its xml from the players main playlist. So every item on the playlist has its on slideshow xml that contains all the info that the plugin uses to work. Every time the 'itemhandler' (clicking on an item on the playlist) is fired the xml is given to the plugin.The error is:

I've been having a bit of a hard time understanding how to get a button which I have created in Flash to navigate to the next slide of the PowerPoint presentation which it has been added into.
I understand that I somehow need to make use of fscommand in ActionScript, but I'm not sure how I can get Flash and PowerPoint to communicate between themselves.

I am trying to build a vertical slide scroller based on a tutorial for a horizontal slide scroller and am having difficulties undertanding what values I need to change in the code for the slider mc in order to make it work. The horizontal slider is quite smart and there is additonal functionality attached to it to affect it's movement which I'm not too worried about although it would be nice)

I'm trying to put together a sideshow using a modification of load_images.fla (a sample file supplied with Flash) combined the the 'Kirupa Menu with Slider' tutorial ([URL]) The slideshow uses a 'next' & 'previous' button to click thought the images. In addition to this I have a separate slide menu navigation (currently just numbers 1-7), with a rectangle highlighting the number of the image being viewed. I would like to move the rectangle to show which image is being viewed, when the 'next' or 'previous' button is pressed. The follow code shows the actionscript for the 'next' & 'previous' buttons....
I have been using TweenLite for all of my easing. I was wondering what the code is for having a button inside a movieclip not active while the movieclip is tweening.Then when the movieclip does finish tweening the button then becomes active.
How can I get a button inside a movieclip link to a frame in another movieclip on the scene? I tried this code:

..where "skruetest" is the button, "centermc" is the movieclip where I want to go to frame 2. I don�t get errors with this code, but nothing happens when I click the button. What can I do?
