ActionScript 2.0 :: Pressing A Button On The Manu Bar Movie Clip Get The Slider To Slide Across With Easing?

I have a menu bar as a movie clip and another movie clip acting as a slider. I want to on pressing a button on the Manu bar movie clip get the slider to slide across with easing. however I don't want the easing to be infinite so can't use a this._x*=.9 or some decimal < 1. Loop function only acts on the sinle fram so it too quick to see.

I wrote this AS for my preloader which schould be able to load a movie clip after pressing a specif button in the main sceene:

1) The problem is that to be able to target a movieclip I will need to give it a instance name. Where can i find this function in MX ?
2) I cannot understant how I schoul put a loadBar being a small movieclip on the main timeline, I think( the same timeline the container clip is at ) or maybe not ? well I am bit confused now..
Well I have done already a sceene preloader for my site and it works perfectly and i did not experience any problems as Im having now with this new kind of preloader.
im trying to create this custom menu a bit more efficiently. As written, it operates fine glitch free. However, id like to incorporate some easing into the movement of each movie clip.
I used this tut to create a menu. [URL] And my question is; Can I make the slider to move after a movie clip symbols instead of button symbols? That way my menu would be animated.
On to the problem: I have a very simple flash, basically just a photo slideshow. The issue I'm having is this: I have a bunch of photos on the timeline, but I have a button on top of everything, just to give viewers the option to skip that particular scene. The button works, but only when the video timeline has reached the very end of the scene. It won't work before the end of the scene. The button actionscript is the most basic of basic:
I know this is a bit common now, but I can't seem to find a way to make this work as I need it to.I've got a movie clip that I need to allow dragging on.The movie clip is the background to a website. I'd like to add a movement easing script to a movie clip that rotates toward the mouse constantly. Here's the script on a controller movie clip (I know that's old-fashioned):

I'd like that line <<_parent.turret._rotation = (this.angle*-1);>> to instead smooth the movement (That is, go half the distance each frame) . . . but upon adding the traditional code (which can also be found somewhere on kirupa), when I cross the mouse from, say 359 degrees to 1 degree, the accursed thing spins the opposite direction. I understand why this happens, but have no thoughts as to how to fix it. It has baffled me for some time.
I'll attach the .fla in case the above is too cryptic, but keep in mind that there are some other features since added, like firing bullets and such. Ignore the actions concerning these; the only important code is on an empty mC called script. It's inside the motoGun mC, at 0x0.
I want to do a vertical scrolling movie clip with easing with buttons. No scroll bar. I have attached a sample I have done just using _y properties. Ideally I want it to ease to the right position instead of jumping to it.
i am trying to scale a movie clip to certain pixel dimensions with easing. I have four buttons on the stage and one mc( a square). when a button is pressed i want to scale the mc to a certain size. i.e button 1 scales the mc to 200 pixels by 500 pixels.
I finished Kirupa's tutorial on the "Sliding Menu" .The tutorial shows how to make the movie clip slide on the horizontal (x) but how do I configure the code to use both horizontal and vertical (y)? Do I just add a dest=" _root.ynew ;" and "pos = this.y ;" some how to this code?

I've been working on this for a good while now and I can't FULLY get it to work, I have a slider that controls my audio volume, it works great.. I also have stop and play buttons that (you guessed it) stop and play the audio... Now the effect that I'm going for is when you click the stop button the slider gracefully slides back to "zero" (which in my case it would be something like _x = -50) and when you hit the play button the slider would smoothly slide all the way to the right side of the slider (which would be _x = 50).. I've gotten it to work to the point where when you click on the buttons they go to the right place but I'm having trouble easing them there.
I need to know how to make my slider move only up and down, at the moment you can move it wher you like, and how t actualy get it to controll the text.here is the code i have so far, scrollbar5 is the name of my scroller descrip5 is the name of the textfield

I am attempting to attach a slider bar to a movie clip. The movie clip is of a face morphing from emotion to no emotion. My ultimate goal is to have the viewer choose when the emotion has disappeared by moving the slider bar.

Making a photo slide show to load as an external movie clip on my site when a button is pushed . After the set of 6 pictures plays through the text is supposed to disappear and a new text appears to label the next set of 6 pictures. Problem is: the text doesn't disappear!
I made all the text layers a symbol/movie clip. I animated each text to disappear at a certain point in the timeline but when I test the movie the texts just remain there and build up one after the other.
When watching the movieclip, pay attention to the text in the lower left screen.
this might sound a little complicated but this is what i'm trying to do..when you click on the movie clip (news on the site below), you can drag and drop as you want. also, when you click on the news, i want the slide down movie clip to play with a functional custom scrollbar. the problem is that i only want the top part of the news to be dragable, and the rest to be by itself, with the scrollbar. is this possible?
I am trying to add action script 2.0 to a slider that i created using http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/slider.htm that slides a movie clip that is a timeline from left to right. In the timeline are (i)More... buttons that will reveal more information. I just need to know how to integrate the timeline into the code using as2 to make it slide when the slider is dragged..

I really could just use a good tutorial that shows me how to link the image that im sliding to the slider bar. When the slider is moved to the right... the image flows left.... toward the end of the timeline. When the slider is all the way right. The end of the timeline is shown. The timeline is bigger than the stage so the slider is on a line with years on it.

I am trying to design a very basic flash game. The basis of which is that there is a slider at the bottom and objects fall from the top and you have to avoid them. However, if the object lands on the slider, it also has to become part of the slider and so the area of the slider increases. I am unsure of how to code this last bit as the properties of the slider must change.
p1 is the instance of the movie which I am trying to move with slider. When I apply above code on the handle of the slider with instance name 'handle' everything works perfect. Slider moves and so do the movie. Now instead when I bring the same code to the main timeline to do the same, onClipEvent does not work, it gives error. So I replaced it with the code written below. Now I can move the handle but movie is not moving.
