Several windows open when I click a button or I get sent to a non existent [URL]; page. I've made a flash that is supposed to have links in it. But when I click a link I get 3 window boxes that open up. HERE IS A VERSION WHERE 3 LINKS OPEN The download file I've taken out all links except for TRY THIS ? Why it launches so many windows?It seems that its trying to open every page.I've taken out all my links except for the TRY BUTTON.

i've got a form, which i then would like to send using asp (CDO).anyway, it works a dream when i use the following:
GetUrl("processForm.asp",0,"post");
however when u use:
loadVariables("processForm.asp",0,"post");
It does nothing.the problem with GetURL is that it opens the scrpt in another window, which isnt ideal.the code in processForm.asp is:

CS3 Actionscript 2.0: I'm trying to get a nested movie clip to open the default mail app. on release. I used the on (release){ getURL("mailto:. which opens the mail window fine, but it also opens a blank browser window (Mac OS). Can someone tell me how to stop this from occurring?

After moving from Windows XP to Windows 7 noticed this behavior in my Flex application. In IE8 when a user clicks on a link in the SWF file it uses the navigateToUrl api to open a new window pointing to an external site. This works as expected in XP on IE8 . However in Windows 7 clicking the link will open a new tab, this new tab however sits in the background therefore it is possible that it may not be noticed by the user. Also the content in this background tab does not always load fully unless you clear the cache. Has anyone come across this issue with Flex and Windows7/IE8? In the navigateToUrl function i pass in a param of _blank.

I have a Flash form sending variables to an ASP script (bono.asp) in order to print a discount bonus. The bonus grafic is then shown in a new window for the user to print with his/her data on it. (name, address, etc). Well, the problem is that it not only opens a new window with the bonus (without the data ), it also opens the bonus in the current window (with the data), forcing the user to "go back" to the flash website and loading the entire animation again. I've messed around with XML+FLASH menu systems (downloaded from various Flash resource sites) on a novice level . As in, I know how to modify the XML file to have the content I want and where to rename the XML file in the FLA if need be. But I've never had to actually manually modify any functions within the FLA before. I'm really green when it comes down to diggin' within the Flash coding. I'm having an issue with the PDF displaying outside the viewable area of the mx:HTML control in Flex. When the application starts up - the mx:HTML is set to a certain size, but can be enlarged if the application is maximized. I'm running ant to compile a Flex application, and the build keeps failing when running it on a windows command line. Other people in my team can successfully run the very same build under mac and linux. This is the error shown in the command prompt:

All tokens are set in corresponding build.properties and filter .properties files (and, as I said before, it compiles perfectly under mac and linux). The windows version is 7 Ultimate, FLEX_HOME is set as an environment variable to the Flex SDK 3.5 (the 3.5.0.12683 build that comes with Adobe Flash Builder Burrito). ${compiler.fork} is set to false, to avoid an issue with the SDK and the source files being in different logic drives.

I'm using Flex in Flash Player 10 on Windows, using FileReference to load a file into memory, as below.My issue is that when a file is locked by Windows, my FileReference is not giving me any feedback that the file is inaccessible--it simply never dispatches any events after my calling load().Does anyone have insight into how to tell that Flash Player is unable to open the file?

I have a mp4 file which is to be used in an application. Currently i am in the stage of figuring out the technology to be used for this job. I am familiar with flex and am hoping that i be able to use it for the application. But i can not figure out a way to play the file in flex. I have been able to play the file only in windows media player and that required the installation of three codecs : Mp4Audio.ax, Mp4Video.ax, Mp4Src.ax.
As i see it, it will be very convenient if i could embed a windows media player plugin in flex or i could specify the audio and video codecs in the flash player

I have a flex application (.swf) and want to create a projector file. When I choose File-> create projector I get the .app file because I work on a Mac. I know I can create both projector formats for windows and mac using the export feature in Flash Professional. But this is not an option since it's Flex.Is there any other way rather than switching to windows to create the file?

I am working on a short animated story, which has a scrubbable timeline and chapter headings. I used TimelineMax for sequencing it. For the most part, it is working fine. I am seeing some strange behavior that pop up, though: sprites disappear, functions stop responding to user input, seams of the sprites become transparent -- all small issues but pretty hard to nail down because they happen in Mac only.
So I am wondering what is wrong with Flash, and why it misbehaves on a Mac?

we're having a strange problem on a project here. When we use NetConnection in combination with a NetGroup to initiate communication between two local AIR applications on Windows XP, they always both connect to the NetGroup succesfully and detect each other as neighbors. However, on Windows 7 both applications connect succesfully to the NetConnection and NetGroup both don't detect each other as neighbors.To reproduce this problem, here are two AIR applications:[code]
These applications can connect and send message to each other without a problem on Windows XP. On Windows 7 however, they cannot.Does anyone know why this wouldn't work on Windows 7 and what steps can be taken to make it work? It's critical to our project that this works.In some cases, the applications take quite a long time to detect each other as neighbors (up to 15 seconds in some cases), in other cases they detect each other immediately. My swf has a black coloured stage.
But when I open the html page in which the swf is embedded, as a full-screen pop-up window, using javascript, the stage colour of the swf is always grey - not the black I set. This happens with whatever colour I set as the stage colour.

Currently, it opens to the first image in the set. I think it would be better if it opened to the first page of the thumbnail browser instead, to let people that are clicking on it know that there are more images in the set than just the one. Otherwise, they would have to know to click on the little "additional guides" icon in the lower right corner.

I build a .fla project, and publish a .swf.
If I double click the .swf to play, it opens two .swfs, the one I'm double clicking and one from a previous project.
If I drag the .swf directly to the stand alone Flash Player then no problem, just the one movie.
I could deal with this except now I've sent a client a .swf, and when he double clicks it opens the .swf he clicked on, and one from a previous project I sent that is on his hard drive.

I currently have a website that has a photo gallery. The home page has a link to the actual photo gallery. I'm using the (getURL) to open the photo gallery in a new window, however the new window opens up to the same size as the home page. I would like to shrink down the window size of the photo gallery so the user can still see some of the home page behind the new window.
I know javascript can take care of this problem, but I was wondering if there is a way to do it with Flash? I just need to specify the size of the new window when it opens.

I am having a strange issue. I have many flash projects on this computer. On my current project, when I do a test movie from flash, it plays the swf no problem. When I open the published html file, again, no problem. However, when I double click on the swf from the finder to play it in flash player, flash player opens it, but it also opens some random projector (.app file) that has been previously published from another project. I would have tried trashing flash player prefs, but I can't find them.

i have an index page (html) that contains an swf and a hyperlink. the hyperlink is set to skip the intro swf and open the main html page. there is no problem there. what i have been trying to find is an event listener that waits till the swf is finished and then goes to the main.html. i found an example that does what i want, but instead of opening a url it uses trace and shows me a message.

I have a movie and after the intro the enter button takes me to the next frame (11) and stops. there i have a drop down menu with button instances on each of the drop downs. The drop down is in a movie clip so i am using on (release) {_root.gotoAndPlay("s1"); } on the button instances to take me to root level to say frame 12 and stops. Each button instance has a different frame label to go to, s1, s2 etc - the idea being that back at root level i can have the content of each of the buttons on each of the frame labels (s1 at frame 12 , s2 at frame 13 etc) .... this works fine except the drop down menu in each of these new frames retains the action script on the drop down button instances - this is fine for all the buttons that will take me to another content page at root level - what i dont want is the AS to remain on the button for the page i am currently on - cos if you click on it it takes you back through the intro etc to get to its frame label again .

I have both CS3 and CS4, I now work only in CS4 with some exceptions. If I open CS4 start a new project then save after working in it the file saves with the cs3 icon. When I doubleclick the file to open it defaults back to opening in CS3.Only way to have files default and open in CS4 is to choose the icon of the CS3 (which is really a CS4 file) and choose open with other, choose the CS4 app and click on it so it opens in CS4 and then only does the icon changes to a cs4 icon.
