Jun 16, 2010I am inputting text from an xml file into dynamic text boxes; I have static text boxes as titles of each.
making the dynamic text boxes expand if the xml text is of a larger size & moving the static text boxes so they don't start getting over written.
The code Ive used to put the text into the dynamic boxes is very simple:

Oct 28, 2009I have a text input field. When I press on it I'd like something to happen. But it doesn't seem like I can target the input field like this.

I tried putting it inside another movieclip (which I can target), but then the text input cursor goes away and I can no longer access the input text box. I know there is probably a simple solution but I can't figure it out.

Jul 25, 2009I have a INPUT TEXT inside a mc called "txt mc" and DYNAMIC TEXT in the main time line.I'm trying to display what's typed in the INPUT TEXT (my_Input_Txt) in the DYNAMIC TEXT boxes (my_Dyn_Txt1, my_Dyn_Txt2, my_Dyn_Txt3).Here's the code. But it won't simply work perhaps because the INPUT TEXT is inside a MC. I need to have the INPUT TEXT INSIDE THAT MC while having the DYNAMIC TEXT boxes out in the main time line.

Oct 8, 2010I have a problem with Input Text boxes within an exported swf. The font (Arial Narrow) has been embedded via Text > Font Embedding (Uppercase, Lowercase, Numerals, and Puncuation checked); but, upon export, certain characters do not register (specifically j, q. u, z, 8, and 9) or automatically take one case or the other (B, M, W, and X are always Uppercase; while k always appears as Lowercase).

I tried left-aligining the input text field in Flash, and it just converted it back when I tested the movie. I have given both fields the same variable. How can I accomplish this?

Mar 7, 2004i was hoping that someone might have an answer to my question. is there ANY way to dynamically change the kerning of an input box? i'd like to give users the ability to modify the kerning of my .swf file. i know flash allows you to change properties like font size, colour, alignment, etc., but i can't find a way to change the kerning property. i don't even think one exists for them. so is there any kind of work around to this?also, is there any reason why i can't use negative values for leading for the input box? it only allows me to use positive numbers when i try to change it dynamically.

Oct 2, 2009I am willing to use Macromedia Flash this year to make my physics project. Well, its going to be force resultant calculator. for ones dont know how it gets counted.
Well, I'll make 4 input text boxes, and a button in the middle. 1 text boxin the north, (power effect the body from the north) one on the south, one on the east and one on the west.(I've done that part).
Then, ill need it to subtract the north - south and east - west on(release), and display that on a dynamic box called Fx (east - west) and another called FY (north - south) Finally, I'll need it fethagorth the Fx and FY to give me the final force resultant. I've done the 4 input boxes and a button, I'll still need someone gimme the action script for subtraction and fethagorth (or atleast teach me how to do it).

Nov 19, 2010I have an input text field in which the user enters text. This text is displayed in an output textfield. The user should have the option to change the color of a selection, This color should be applied to the selection in both the input and output textfield. After that the user should be able to further edit the text without loosing the fomatting.
But pictures say more than words so...
1. The user selects text and sets the color to yellow
2. The text color is set to yellow just like I want
3. This is the actual issue. When the text (in the input field) is edited all text in the ouput field goes black again That's not what I want, I want the colored text to stay colored when the input is edited.

Sep 2, 2011I have an input text field that is named in the properties box as 'numberOfKids'. When the program is executed, and a delete or backspace is pressed the input textfield goes blank and any calculations that use 'numberOfKids' shows NaN.I have trapped the NaN and undefined so that a numeric 0 shows up instead of a blank.
First problem: The cursor is to the left of the zero, so the first number inputted by the user is 10x larger than what they want. 0 becomes 10. How do I get the cursor to move to the right of the 0?
Second Problem: When I manually move the cursor to the right of the 0 and input a number, say 4, it shows up as 04. How do I delete the leading numeric zero in the input textfield?

May 25, 2003I've been trying to copy footers from this site just to see if I could make them. And well, i'm kinda trying to make one like ahmed's. Where when you click a square it changes from grey to white, and then back if you click it again. but I'm not trying to have it save designs like his (i'm not nearly that good). Here's what I've got so far. I've just got 2 squares, but when i click one, they both turn white, why?
