Oct 7, 2011A web channel streaming service streams to a certain IP range, it only checks the IP in example.com/cmd.php?id=xxx (channel number) and outputs an rtmpe stream URL, nothing else.How do I trick it to get my local URL instead of the one on their server? I have considered squid proxy, but is there some way to do it with a firefox plugin or greasemonkey script?
Edit:I will try to specify:It's a streaming service from an ISP and cable provider. They stream for free to people on their IP's. On their webtv page, which is called webtv.example.com, there is a flash player. If you are not on an IP from their ISP, you can't stream anything but the test channel.When you try to change channel via. javescript:videoplayer_changechannel(xxx) it makes this HTTP request:

If you are on one of their IP's you will get an RTMP URL, like this:
[URL]
This is what the flash player requests, and if it get's this response it load the channel requested. There is no HTML on the php page, just the URL. Note that the rtmp URL is static.If you are not on one of their IP's it will return a random sentence (something stupid, the programmers having fun).I wan't to trick the flash player into getting the right value, even though it's not on one of the ISP's IP's.

Apr 1, 2011Edit 04/04/11: It turns out that the UTF encoding was just hiding a bigger problem. I initially thought it was the UTF encoding as setting that seemed to solve the search problem, but it was more to do with how mongodb was serialising the search key in the background
I'm using Flash to create a small tool to generate db info for mongodb. It will generate something like:
db.save({"className":"mypackage.MyClass","name":"someName"});
And display that in a TextField so I can just copy and paste it directly into the db.
My problem comes with mongodb being unable to find that info later. After much debugging, the problem boiled down to the text not being entered in UTF-8 format. i.e., in order to make it work, I'd have to copy the line of text from Flash, paste it into something like Notepad++, set the encoding to UTF-8, then copy that text into the db.
is there a way to either specify that I want to generate the text as UTF-8 or copy as UTF-8 from the TextField to avoid having to have this extra step in my workflow.
Flash - Making Bitmap Copy Of MovieClip
Apr 19, 2011I am developing a Paint Application is AS3. What I am trying is to basically mimick the MS Paint. I am using vector graphics to implement tools like pencil,line,curve and bitmap to implement bucket tool,spray and eraser. But I faced a problem. While its possible to draw bitmap over vector its not possible to draw vector over bitmap if every drawing is in the same layer.
So the idea that I have is to make it into two layers
Top layer where the vector drawing is done.
In the bottom layer layer after each vector drawing on MOUSE_UP a bitmap copy of the top layer is made and kept on the bottom layer. Keep the top layer fully transparent so that bottom layer is always visible.
Things like flood-fill(bucket tool), spray and eraser will be directly applied to bottom layer.
After each vector is drawn on MOUSE_UP the top layer will be cleared but everything will be visible because it has been re created in the bottom layer and the top layer is full transparent.
My questions are: Is there any flaw in my logic. How to make a bitmap copy of the movie clip on top. I tried but maybe I am stupid it does not work. The name of the MovieClips are topLayer_mc and bottomLayer_mc. What is need to have is to have a function to create a bitmap copy of topLayer_mc on every MOUSE_UP of pencil,line and add it to bottomLayer_mc. I mean create a bitmap copy of topLayer_mc on every MOUSE_UP of pencil, line and add it to bottomLayer_mc. A function will do.

May 23, 2011I have produced some vector artwork in illustrator for use inside a Flash Project. When I import the artwork into Flash the importer appears to place all of the element into many nested groups and creates folders in my library. Is there a way to import the graphics from illustrator as flat shapes rather than these nested groups?
Currently I am importing into Flash and having to go into each group and cut the shapes out and paste them into an empty MovieClip which is very time consuming.

Aug 16, 2011I have a swf page that I would like to convert to a png file. Before I convert the file, I would like to zoom in to the swf file so that I have a larger image. I try swftools to convert, but the png image quality is not good enough: Zoomed-in png image looks too blurry.
I should do to capture/use a zoomed-in version of a swf file. A linux compatible command line tool would be great as I am thinking of converting hundreds of images.

Apr 2, 2012I have a button with animations on scroll-over. How can I 'duplicate' this button, as I want several more buttons with the same template, just different text (and different functions called)?
Sorry for the foolish question, but the Duplicate button is frustrating, as when I change the text in the new button it changes the text in the other button. It's like I'm changing a template.
Perhaps it is a misunderstanding of symbols? I believe symbols are basically template classes...is there a way to generate a new instance of a button symbol?

Say I am building a movie and I just changed it, I open my browser and see the old version. I have to clear my cache to get the updated version. When i hold the left mouse button on the image that appears on the stage, then a function that start copies the src image to the dest will be invoked.
