Is it possible to create buttons using only actionscript? If it is, would you be kind enough to point me in the right direction of a tutorial or such that could explain it to me? Just figured out how to use createTextField today and wanted to see if there was something similar to that for buttons.

The MCs that would make up the user interface would be empty and load things into it using XML or PHP later on. How would I create button states for the user interface MCs. I started creating a function for every MC button state but I thought there might be a more efficient way.

the code within the rollover/rollout function doesn't work. It does work when outside of the function or when the code doesnt use "g".Is this because once inside the rollover/out function it always brings back the last value of "g" ... in this case 20?[URL]

I am using actionscript 2.0 and I am trying to create multiple sound buttons that trigger multiple different .mp3 files via mouse click.I have gotten it to work with one sound file using this actionscript [code]but as soon as I add another button and try to link it to another file it does not work.I would like to make it so that even if I click another button to start another sound, the first sound keeps playing.

I currently have a slideshow working with prev and next buttons, but would like to add numbered buttons for each slide at bottom of images, with a static number for the active slide that has a colored circle around that number.
I can create static number with colored circle in Photoshop and add that to a layer, but it's labor intensive to do that for all numbers.
Is there a better way to create the highlighted numbers for active slide?
For numbered buttons that link to non-active slides, I can create numbers in Photoshop and import images into Flash, then convert to symbols and assign actions for them, But that too is labor intensive to do for all the numbers.

Im trying to create 4 rows of 16 buttons/boxes...Ive been reading up about 2d arrays in my javascript book and have tried this but Im getting a problem about the property length not found on a number, etc.Initially, I had a for loop running from 0 to 16 which created a row of 16 buttons, then they were being pushed into an array. Now I want to create 4 rows of 16 buttons and hopefully push them somehow into a 2d array.

I'm trying to create a menu, where some buttons becomes visible when the user "rollOver" a box the buttons is beneath. Look at http://www.grupotecnimede.com/ menu system, at the main page. I place my buttons within a MC, and gives the MC this AS:

But when I move the mouse over the buttons, they aren't enabled, probably because flash got the idea that the MC is above the buttons, and that the MC is a button.
I'm trying to create tool tip rollovers for buttons, a little bubbled message that pops up and follows the cursor while the cursor is ontop of a button. Kinda like the tooltips in windows, instead it moves. Hope that makes sense. the problem i'm having is creating a loop within the rollOver event so that the x/y co-ords for my tooltip movieclip updates each time the mouse moves is there any other way of doing this? here's what i have so far

the problem with what i have now is that the tooltip movieclip doesnt continue to move along with the cursor while on rollOver
Since i use more and more as in my flashfiles my way of building a flash website has changed. for example i create only buttons from Movieclips and not button MC's
But when i want to attach a sound i know the code of attachsound but i can't find out how to use it.
Is there someone who can help me a bit.
