ActionScript 2.0 :: Dynamic Text And Alpha (title Edited)
Aug 12, 2003
I'm trying to make three text boxes each inside its own movie.Then I want them to each fade in.. not at the same time.. but like.. movie one starts fading in.. a few seconds later the second starts fading in.I've been working this code around but I'm having trouble with it.If I set it to embed fonts the text doesn't display.I also can't make the dynamically stuff be set to an alpha property.[code]
I've used Flash for just a few days, so this surely is obvious for most of you. I have made a movie that works as an intro of a website, and I'd like it to redirect to a specified URL when it stops.

As far as I know theres in no way to cahnge the alpha of a dynamic text box. I put one in a movie clip and when i try to change the alpha of it everything else in it changes its alpha but the not the DT box. Could someone plz verify for me that u can't change alpha and help me find a component that allows alpha control with a dynamic text box. thx in advance.
I've got a movieClip containing a background and 3 dynamic text inputs, that I'm trying to tween via the tween class.When I apply the alpha tween, the background within the movieClip does fade to 0 like it should, but the dynamic text inputs do NOT.I was wondering if anyone could explain how I could get this working, so that an alpha tween to a movieClip also alpha tween everything within it. It was my understanding that the point of putting things into a movieClip was so that you didn't have to apply to each element of the movieClip.
Movie clips containing dynamic text fields do not fade properly when _alpha is modified by AS. The text doesnt fade, but appears 100% at all alpha levels.
I have some text which was set up with an alpha fade-in motion tween (0-100%) and worked fine until the text was made dynamicaly loaded from a text file and variable. Now it still shows the fade-in in work mode, but during play it just pops directly to the final 100% state.

I have a grid of animated dynamic text boxes that are being pushed in from an array. This works great. I was wondering if it possible to have those randomly bolded? If that is not possible, than could their alpha's be random but not any lower than 50%. I know AS3 does 0-1 but how would you force it to not be lower than a certain number?
I have generated several TextFields dynamically through a for loop. I would like all the text fields to have their alpha set to 0 so that each field can eventually fade in.
When I apply the alpha property by setting it to 0, or even .5 the text appears to still be at an alpha of 1. Does anyone know how to make the text appear with a low to 0 alpha?
I have attached the code from the function which runs the for loop to generate the text fields. Please not that the value of the text fields are stored in a global array, and the text format objects are also global and are declared in the main body of the class.
I've been making a game in ActionScript 2.0 Flash CS3. Now I want to be able to display my characters alpha using dynamic text. The instance name for the character is char and the Var for the dynamic text is alpha. I want to be able to display the characters alpha and ALSO the characters current alpha in other levels for example.
Variable for lives in level 1: _root.lives = 5; Variable for lives in level 2: _root.currentlives = lives;
I want to be able to do the exact thing but display the 'char' alpha instead.
Fonts should be embedded for any text that may be edited at runtime, other than text with the "Use Device Fonts" setting. Use the Text > Font Embedding command to embed fonts.
I bought this template a while back ago and now I am going to use it, the thing is the contact form is not accepting some characters like "q,w,e,r,t,y,@" etc. I remeber I had this issue a while back ago and I embeded the fonts and that fixed the issue, but with this one, aint working, I embeded all the fonts the template uses and it is not working.When I export the movie I always get the message "Fonts should be embedded for any text that may be edited at runtime, other than text with the "Use Device Fonts" setting. Use the Text > Font Embedding command to embed fonts."I went to text> Font Embedding> I added pretty much all the characters for the fonts but I am still getting the message and still I am unable to add characters into the contact form.
is it possible to change the icon and the title in the title bar? are there any opensource or low cost ways (prehaps software with a education licence) to change the apperance of the projector window.. like for example itunes, breaks out of windows xp standard UI
how can i load large image? i used a Zoomify for solve this problem but there are another problem that i don't like to use it. can i do it in as3? like loading image title to title?
You've seen those Input Text Fields on web sites that have titles on them, i.e. Name, Email, Message, in the Text field itself. Then, when you click on the the text field to type something in, the "title" disappears and you can type your info in. Perfect example: [URL] (Under "contact")
I'm trying to center the title text on my Alert control. I'm using the following CSS right now: mx|Alert{ text-align: center; }
The problem is that the above code centers my alert content as well, not just the title text. What selector do I need to access just the title of the alert control? I'm using the 4.x SDK and Spark. Code: Alert.Show();
Despite adding: source="myScript.as" (that basically feeds the main.mxml file)
to my TitleWindow component MXML file (which I instantiate from the main.mxml file) the variables defined in myScript.as appear to be null hence I can't populate my text fields in the title window, even though those variables work fine in the main.mxml.
I'm trying to edit a Flash file, that get it's data from and XML file.Now when you click on one of the menu items, the page + page title should change, but somehow the page title remains the same. (at least for the first 3 menu items) But when you go to the last menu item and then back to one of the first 3 menu items, the correct page title is shown.I'm no flash / AS expert, so I can't really find out what the problem is, but it seems like it has something to do with this function
I'm been having a bit of problem with Flash 4 and text variables. This is what I want to do: I have a blank title that I want people to complete: The (something) of the (something) (something) where people select words from lists to complete the title. I also want it to be centred on a mock book cover. The problem is that I can't work out how to make the whole title into one variable, which I can them place on the cover. Going by the tutorials I've seen, it should be something like:
I am trying to create a flash animation in which a text title fades in to the screen. I created the text, converted it to a symbol, then tried to create a motion tween in which I could tweak the alpha values of the text object. However when I try to create the keyframe, the popup that comes up has the Color option greyed out (which is where I believe the alpha setting lives).
I have a panel in my application. My requirement is, I also require a link, that is "Help options" to appear in the panel's header. In the left, we will have the Panel's title and in the right corner, I need this link. Is that possible?
