I am trying to create a flash animation in which a text title fades in to the screen. I created the text, converted it to a symbol, then tried to create a motion tween in which I could tweak the alpha values of the text object. However when I try to create the keyframe, the popup that comes up has the Color option greyed out (which is where I believe the alpha setting lives).

I have done all kinds of searching on this question, and answers seem far-and-wide, and have only left me more confused. I am currently accepting bids for the development of an Android app version of our graphic novel: [URL] One of the issues/problems from my requirements document that has been raised more than once by bidders is about the Flash animation [URL] that I want to be used in the title screen, and how that will be implemented in the app. The initial programmer that I was working with had real problems with and was never able to get it to work. I know that in order to use the swf file as-is, Flash needs to be installed on the devices, and that is not an Android standard. So I want to know what options there are to be able to include this.
A couple bidders have suggested that the animation be converted to video. And although they claim that they could still make it work correctly, I worry about losing the looping that is built into the animation. Can the animation be converted to or re-created with Java? Should I be looking into using FLash Builder and/or Adobe AIR? We will eventually be porting this app for Apple iPads as well, so if there is an option that woks for both Android and iOS, that would be better.

View 1 RepliesI'm doing some pretty simpe text fades in flash by changing the alpha from 100% to 0% for a piece of text.This works fine in the SWF export, but when I export to AVI the text corrupts (shifts, expands and looks interlaced) during the fade portion.I've tried doing this with a brightness shift, and even ticking he "cache as bitmap".I tried exporting as 32bit movie with alpha. That stops the corruption, but now there's a flicker juse before the fade that's not there in the SWF!
View 4 RepliesI need a few minor changes done to my site such as changing the text on the About page and also changing it so that when you view a picture in any of the galleriess the background is completely black, right now it just fades out the text and thumbnails and is not entirely black.
I have never used Flash before but am pretty good with Photoshop, Illustrator and a little bit of Dreamweaver. Would these changes be difficult for someone who has never used Flash but can pick things up fairly quickly? I have all the files for my website, any suggestions where I should look first to make the changes I require.
I've made a slideshow with externally loading text and images. How can I make it so after the title screen flashes off, the first thing is the first photo/caption without having to click on the next button?
View 2 Repliesok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.

I want that sequence in a video I'm working on, so I output the Flash (CS4) to video. I import that video into my Final Cut (6.0.6) sequence, but when it plays. All the fades are gone, and the images simply cut dryly from one to the next. How can I output this Flash to give me the effects I am programming in there into the video?
View 2 RepliesI'm in the middle of building a simple flash slideshow, using alpha fades between images. I have three layers, the first one being text, on the timeline for each layer/image. The other two layers are images, small footprint (sized and optimized in photoshop, each less than 100k). When I hit the Enter key it will play on timeline but the preview and fla file just won't start, hung up on the first frame.

I want to know the actionscript for when hovering over a button which is a picture, the whole screen fades into a translucent grey (with everything else still in the background) and have a larger version of my picture appearing on top of the grey. And when the mouse leaves the button, the grey and the larger version of the picture will fade out and return back to my original.

I have a simple litte banner I did with flash (version 9.0). Just a few images and some text that I fade in and out with a motion tween. When i publish this to an animated gif, the text turns into blobs on the screen.

I started building a gallery in flash before i realised that it was a bit out of my reach at the moment so I downloaded one and set to work altering it for my purposes ( and learning some action script at the same time ) but I've hit a problem. The title in the .fla file can be changed font size etc however after the first frame it's then replaced by another which i can edit but only by editing the .xml file does anyone know where / What I need to look for to alter the size positioning etc.
View 3 RepliesI am currently trying to create a function (or set of functions) that automatically fades in a button for each cue point in a video the first time a video loads. This way the buttons only become accessible once that point in the video has passed. The buttons should stay active once the video is loaded.
The code below is what I have so far. Essentially all I have managed to do is trace the name of the cuePoint. I believe what I need to do is somehow assign the cue point name to an object, pass that reference to the "fadeIn" function and run the "fadeIn" function.It is worth noting that the buttons I am fading in are already on the timeline, so I do not need to create them in code. I just need to reference them.

This is my first post here and it my be a hard one to understand? Overview I have four buttons on the main stage (info) (help) (bio) (main) When you Rollover a button it fades to another color/when you rollout it fades back to the original color I have a script that does the color change because I do not want to use motion tweens. Here is what I did I made a 2 frame MC named infoMC In the 1st frame of the MC I made the word (info) a nested MC and attached the color change code to it. The 2nd frame of the MC Is the same as the 1st frame but I revesed the color change

Ive been doing Photoshop work for some time and am now looking into doing some flash for my website. If you look at my header on my site http:[url].. it is a Jpeg at the momment for the title. What I want to know is that if i replace the header with flash is there away that I can add code so that if someone has a low bandwidth connection it would not load the flash and use the Jpeg image instead. The reason being is I know how bad it is waiting for flash to load on some websites when bandwidth is limited and it would be good to give people the option upon loading.

ie: in 1st frame 1 draw a rectangle shape and 25th frame i draw a circle shape that the time i give a shape tweening means it comes correctly (the shape converts to another shape)

I'm been having a bit of problem with Flash 4 and text variables. This is what I want to do: I have a blank title that I want people to complete: The (something) of the (something) (something) where people select words from lists to complete the title. I also want it to be centred on a mock book cover. The problem is that I can't work out how to make the whole title into one variable, which I can them place on the cover. I have the following script on a movie clip which fades the clip in when your mouse is over the MC and fades it out when your mouse moves off. It works fine, but it "flickers" when its faded in all the way. How can I stop that?
