I'm going crazy trying to figure out how to change the text on this banner. The person setting up my website isn't available anymore. I have this slide show with a transparent banner at the top and photos that I can manipulate. I can also change the order by modifiying the file Images.xml:

I have tried exporting it as an animated gif and the quality looks terrible!I know that gif only supports 256 colours but am trying to give the client something user friendly that they can just attach to the bottom of their email. I think there is programs that you can use to export it at a higher quality?

I created the text, converted it to a symbol, then tried to create a motion tween in which I could tweak the alpha values of the text object. However when I try to create the keyframe, the popup that comes up has the Color option greyed out (which is where I believe the alpha setting lives).

Then on the left side of the banner I have some text that I want to fade in after the picture loads and stops, I don't have a clue as to what I am doing wrong I can get the picture to loads and the blinds to open, but when I attempt to add the text fade in to it I no longer have my picture, although the text fade-in works fine. I've put all of the pictures on the same frame and gave them frame labels. What would be the actionscript code I should use to make this work, along with making the buttons still functional? Also, how can I put buttons to go to the last frame from the first, and first to the last, while still making them stop at every frame? I keep trying and nothing's working.

I use DW CS4. I've gone to the Library panel, as suggested (below) but cannot find the "a Text 1" text as suggested.

I have CS4 and have (it has taken over a month) created a banner with moving clouds (912 x 74). To the left is our company name and all I want to do is have a navigation menu across the bottom. I did not want buttons, but text with a dignified mouse over effect or color change. The links would be to .php pages and the would read Requirements, Samples, Pricing, FAQs and Contact. I know how to do this. But When you mouseover one block and come out of it, the text will be still there until you move onto another block, which I don't know how to.

View 4 RepliesI created a motion preset of a 3D text animation that made the text swing back and forth like a gate with the hinge on the far left side. However, when I apply the motion preset to other text, the text moves to a new location and the text swings closer to the center than the far left side. Moving the text only creates a travel path that further complicates matters.
what am I doing wrong with the motion preset? How can I save something into a preset and apply it to other things and have the animation work the way it was designed?
I am colorblind.I need to change either the color of the background or the color of the text on the layers section on the Timeline.I simply cannot read/see what is currently showing.It is a very light blue background with white text and white dots for seeing, locking, or setting the outline color.I need to either change the text color and dots to black so I can see them, or try to change the background color to a dark blue so I can read the white text.Changing the text color would really be my preference. Adobe hasn't been very concerned about colorblindness when developing these products. I can barely make out all the light grey/grey/dark grey/grey stuff.
View 7 RepliesI have a certain set of motion twains that I've successfuly completed, they constantly loop right now (default), and is saved in the SWF file.I'd like to take that finished looping animation, and insert it within another animation (a) that can be played with a play button, and stopped/resetted with a stop button.How do I insert the completed looping animation into the main animation? And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

I am posting this because I purchased a package on FlashComponents.net, and spent 167 dollars on a set of flash components that were suppose to be easy to install and highly customizable. I messaged the creater of this package, snowcat, but he does not reply to my inquiries on why it does not work.
What I thought might be wrong was what I changed in the xml file, so I uploaded the entire folder from stock. the index.html page worked, however as soon as i copied the source code into my page I wanted to to actually play in. It does not even show, when I right-click the area in which it is suppose to be it says "Movie not loaded...".
I literally copied and pasted, there were no changes to the code whatsoever from the working one. After that I continued to try to arrange it the way I wanted it to be anyways, storing the source files in a folder of the site rather than having it in the root of the file. This folder is "index_banner" The developer DID have a posting about that issue on his website which I read four times to make sure that somehow that was not the culprit either.
Below is the code for the page; I am hoping I inadvertantly messed something up because then my 167 dollars is not wasted. But with the lack of support for a supposed "well documented" package it is a little disheartening.

But when I am trying to change the label text in one of my buttons the text is changing on the other button as well. I believed they where separate instances?

My thought is to use a TimerEvent (if, then type statement) to control how long each "billboard" will be on the stage, then have the next one slide onto the stage...etc, etc...
