Client wants the audio from splash page to fade out in bg when user clicks enter button and leaves page and enters next html page? How to do this? WIth AS? Javascript? Does this file need to be embeded on both html pages?

View 2 RepliesIm trying to create a simple splash page that plays a video using the FLVplayback component. The problem is that it wont redirect the browser tot he homepage at the end of the playback.I've set up my FLA by putting an instance of the FLVplayback component in the only frame on the stage. I put another keyfram on a separate layer for actions and included the following actions (instance name of the FLVplayback component is videoIntro)

i seem to be able to reference the component correctly because i can set the contentPath. What im doing in that actionscript is identical to what i have seen in some tutorials.
I currently have a splash page which uses a variety of tweens to make an animation of a character running. The splash page also has music playing in the background and a small skip button (located in the corner) which is given the instance name "reelButton". I want the splash page to link to a loading page (file name "loading_screen.swf") I have created which uses a black background and an animation of a skull rotating. When I press the skip button, it does navigate to the loading page but the character running from the splash page and the music is still playing. I know its because I need to use the unloadAndStop command to stop all the movie clips from the splash page. But even with this it still doesn't seem to work.

I just want to stop all the sounds in the splash page. I don't need to give the user the option to start them again. The thing is only 20 seconds long. I just want them to be able to turn off all sounds for their convenience. I found this piece of code:

Check out the link below, as you can see my overlay is hidden behind the flash element. However, the blue bar with the 'Continue' button appears above everything. Does anyone know what CSS changes I need to make so the overlay will appear above everything below it? The background loads an iframe.

I can't add wmode="transparent" to the embed tag, since I have no control over the page loaded in the iframe.
i've made a splash page in flash but i want to have it looping till someone clicks on the button.Would this be possible with AS3?
View 3 RepliesIve just finished a flash web site that ive used a lot of XML for loading my images from thumbnails. Its works great.
Except it takes maybe 3-4 minutes to load. I think whats happening is its loading all the images in that XML file before it even shows the first thumbnail, so thats like 2MB its loading.
Is there a way to preload all of the xml files at the start on my Flash splash page?

My website splash page is around 780x480 and the rest of the flash site is all 800x500. I'm not quite sure how to work this, but I want to have the splash page play automatically then go to the main page of the website. Can someone help me out with this? And does it matter that they are different sizes?

I've googled it and checked out the rest of the forum but having a hard time finding a specific code I can directly insert, I'm still not too code oriented and wouldn't know how to write it out even if given the proper terms. View 10 RepliesI've got a timeline of events going on with about a dozen frames and about a dozen buttons. Clicking on each button will take you to a different frame. Simple enough. I have no problem with fading the specific frames in (I make the whole content of the frame a movie clip, then tween the alpha programatically as soon as you enter that frame). The issue I have is fading it out, so when you click on another button, that content on the current frame fades out and then you jump to a separate labeled frame, where the new content fades in).

Overview I have four buttons on the main stage (info) (help) (bio) (main) When you Rollover a button it fades to another color/when you rollout it fades back to the original color I have a script that does the color change because I do not want to use motion tweens. Here is what I did I made a 2 frame MC named infoMC In the 1st frame of the MC I made the word (info) a nested MC and attached the color change code to it. The 2nd frame of the MC Is the same as the 1st frame but I revesed the color change

when I enter a symbol by default everything around that is not part of that symbol becomes faded - is there a way to disable this?
View 4 RepliesI'm doing some pretty simpe text fades in flash by changing the alpha from 100% to 0% for a piece of text.This works fine in the SWF export, but when I export to AVI the text corrupts (shifts, expands and looks interlaced) during the fade portion.I've tried doing this with a brightness shift, and even ticking he "cache as bitmap".I tried exporting as 32bit movie with alpha. That stops the corruption, but now there's a flicker juse before the fade that's not there in the SWF!
View 4 RepliesI have the following script on a movie clip which fades the clip in when your mouse is over the MC and fades it out when your mouse moves off. It works fine, but it "flickers" when its faded in all the way. How can I stop that?

I have started this animation and I am turning rain drops into movie clips with a small splash animation in the clip. I can just copy and paste them so I won't have to animate each one or do programming. When I test this with the swf file they turn out fine. But when I try to export this into a jpeg/png,or avi the full animation in the movie clip doesn't work. It just shows the first frame. Is there a way to make this work since I would really like the single jgep files or avi since I need to transfer this to other programs. I thought there was a way to do this but I cannot remember or I don't know if they changed it with cs4 XD.
View 4 RepliesI have a flash animation, simple, it basically fades between several static images in the timeline. I want that sequence in a video I'm working on, so I output the Flash (CS4) to video. I import that video into my Final Cut (6.0.6) sequence, but when it plays. All the fades are gone, and the images simply cut dryly from one to the next. How can I output this Flash to give me the effects I am programming in there into the video?
View 2 RepliesI'm in the middle of building a simple flash slideshow, using alpha fades between images. I have three layers, the first one being text, on the timeline for each layer/image. The other two layers are images, small footprint (sized and optimized in photoshop, each less than 100k). When I hit the Enter key it will play on timeline but the preview and fla file just won't start, hung up on the first frame.

I need a few minor changes done to my site such as changing the text on the About page and also changing it so that when you view a picture in any of the galleriess the background is completely black, right now it just fades out the text and thumbnails and is not entirely black.
I have never used Flash before but am pretty good with Photoshop, Illustrator and a little bit of Dreamweaver. Would these changes be difficult for someone who has never used Flash but can pick things up fairly quickly? I have all the files for my website, any suggestions where I should look first to make the changes I require.
I am trying to create a flash animation in which a text title fades in to the screen. I created the text, converted it to a symbol, then tried to create a motion tween in which I could tweak the alpha values of the text object. However when I try to create the keyframe, the popup that comes up has the Color option greyed out (which is where I believe the alpha setting lives).

I can only figure out how to make the graphic instantly disappear instead of fading out. I am following a tutorial and changing it to my needs. I am using Flash CS3 and Action Script 2.0. I would also like to have the circle graphic have a small photo pop up by it when the mouse hovers over it. What do I need to look into to make something like this happen? I haven't been able to find anything similar to doing this.

View 25 RepliesI basically have multiple identical swfs on a html page, each containing an mp3. I need it so that when you play one.. it stops any others that are playing, to prevent the audio from overlapping and creating a mess.
I've tried using 'local Connection' which almost worked.. but just didn't seem to be well suited to this sort of thing.
I deployed a website a couple of days ago which is written entirely in Flash. On one of the pages there is a video which plays in the Flash Player. I have noticed that when I leave the video playing and select a button to take me to another page, the other page comes up but the audio keeps playing from the prior page. Worse yet, if I go back to the page with the Flash Player, it now relaods again and there are two audio tracks. Can someone tell me how this code is solved? There must be some Actionscript 3.0, which I'm using, which kills the player whenever you enter a different page?
View 1 RepliesThe situation is I have a number of pages with a single movie clip on each, however once the movie is playing and you click the home or contact buttons for example, it will go to the correct page but the movies sound keep playing in the background. So I've got a code, but I just get an error sayign tanmovstop() does not have a body. I'm very new to action script so am very lost! I'll be extremely grateful. My solution is built using .NET.Most similar apps that I've seen use Flash on the client and presumably Flash Media Server on the server. We don't have the kind of budget for FMS. I'm looking for a free/open source solution.I've also looked a bit at Silverlight 4 since it supports recording WAV audio but I'm not clear on how to tackle the uploading and encoding to MP3 bit.Ultimately, I need to record audio from the microphone and then be able to store the file on the server as an MP3 file. Free (or at least cheap) is required.
