My website splash page is around 780x480 and the rest of the flash site is all 800x500. I'm not quite sure how to work this, but I want to have the splash page play automatically then go to the main page of the website. Can someone help me out with this? And does it matter that they are different sizes?
View 1 RepliesI seem to have an issue with a flash I have written. The person who I made it for is telling me that first time he loads the page with the Flash in it, it loads fine. However, at this point if he navigates to another portion of the site, then goes back to the Flash page, he says it freezes on the loading bar. Consistently everytime, but only on his work computer, not home computer or lap-top. I think it might be a caching issue in IE, but I am kind of stumped, anyone ever experience this?

The problem is that it wont redirect the browser tot he homepage at the end of the playback.I've set up my FLA by putting an instance of the FLVplayback component in the only frame on the stage. I put another keyfram on a separate layer for actions and included the following actions (instance name of the FLVplayback component is videoIntro)

i seem to be able to reference the component correctly because i can set the contentPath. What im doing in that actionscript is identical to what i have seen in some tutorials.
I currently have a splash page which uses a variety of tweens to make an animation of a character running. The splash page also has music playing in the background and a small skip button (located in the corner) which is given the instance name "reelButton". I want the splash page to link to a loading page (file name "loading_screen.swf") I have created which uses a black background and an animation of a skull rotating. When I press the skip button, it does navigate to the loading page but the character running from the splash page and the music is still playing. I know its because I need to use the unloadAndStop command to stop all the movie clips from the splash page. But even with this it still doesn't seem to work.

I just want to stop all the sounds in the splash page. I don't need to give the user the option to start them again. The thing is only 20 seconds long. I just want them to be able to turn off all sounds for their convenience. I found this piece of code:

Does anyone know what CSS changes I need to make so the overlay will appear above everything below it? The background loads an iframe.

View 3 RepliesIve just finished a flash web site that ive used a lot of XML for loading my images from thumbnails. Its works great.
Except it takes maybe 3-4 minutes to load. I think whats happening is its loading all the images in that XML file before it even shows the first thumbnail, so thats like 2MB its loading.
Is there a way to preload all of the xml files at the start on my Flash splash page?

I am having a problem, After Loading External SWF on a Movieclip and Zoom in/out when loading the other SWF on same Movieclip can't able to rest to normal size for zoom in/out im using scaleX,scaleY. When i click to load other SWF i'm giving size of widht and height to set back orginal size.[code]

View 3 RepliesI have a site with a common SWF embedded at the top of each page, and then regurlar graphic/text HTML content below it.I was anticipating that the SWF might have a bit of a delay for it to load, and that the rest of the page would be appearing pretty much right away... and that DOES happen from time to time.
However, the one thing I wasn't expecting, and don't quite understand, is that sometimes the SWF will appear first and even start playing, yet the rest of the page doesn't appear for a second or two, so I end up with this SWF movie floating in black.
Not entirely sure what is holding the page back, since most of the graphics are shared/common on each page. There are some embedded videos (with poster frames, so they shouldn't take too long to load) on some pages, which are probably the culprits.
What I don't get (besides how to further optimize the pages), is why the SWF appears and plays, if it is an element within the table that contains all the content of the page. I thought that tables only display once EVERYTHING in it is loaded... So, why would the SWF appear before the other elements are ready? I'm assuming the other (non-common) elements are not finished downloading... although I'm starting to suspect that maybe they are, and the delay is something else... like the embedded QT's 'initializing' or something?

What I what to do is get the users monitor size then adjust my document size to match than and arrange my layout to fill the aspect ratio of their screen. Then use the stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL; to fill the window.

Does anyone know a way to dinamically modify a flash document's size at runtime?I have a drop down of which the item can have any number of pixels in height so it might be taller than the flash document. In this case i would need to resize the flash document and also resize the it in html so it won't be cut off.

I made my file with animation just how I wanted it, then realized it would look better if I put a frame around it. View 6 RepliesI have a flash file that a customer has sent me that needs changing. (It is a flash website header with links to the site pages and a logo above. I have deleted the logo above) One of the problems is the size. I would like to half the size of the document as there is a lot of white space in the top half where I am going to add a static logo to a webpage (with these flash site links below). When I open Flash CS4 and click Modify > Document..., I can change the height dimensions but the white background changes but the whole of the flash movie is now under the document.
How can I change the possition of either the rest of the document or the background of the document to fit under my movie so that the whole document displays as a flash movie at the correct size? Another problem that I am having is changing the links in the template to the page names that I am using on the site. I don't seem to be able to even find the buttons to make the changes. What ever I do to view them I can't 'see' them when scrolling the time line but when I export or preview the movie all the elements are there.
If the size of the Document object in a Flash application is not set explicitly, how is its size determined?
View 5 RepliesWith AS1/2 there was no way(that I know of) to determine the document size at runtime. You had to hard code in some vars. Although Stage.width and Stage.height would be the same as the document size when scaleMode is not 'noScale', if scaleMode is indeed 'noScale' then Stage.height and Stage.width represent the SWF size. This behavior appears the same in AS3, but I was wondering if there's any additions that make it possible?

This always traces the width/height of the content of the external crossball.swf file, not its stage dimensions. So let's say crossball.swf has a document size of 200 by 200 pixels and in it is a shape of 115 by 30 it will trace the last as the width/height of 'container'. Is there any way to get the stage dimensions of an externally loaded swf through moviecliploader?
