These are the problem: In my main file I have a sound object (music) and then load the video when I reduce the volume of the music of the main file to 0 that the louder the sound from FLV videos. The font Optima is embedded, and I've selected embed all glyphs.What I'm getting rendered to the screen is as the image below, with a random i + umlaut character in place of the bullet.Is this a problem with Flash or is the font file somehow missing the bullet character, and does anyone know how I can fix this issue, preferably without having to move across to TLF text.?
I am trying to replace some code which loaded an external image and triggered and function once completed with code that uses and embedded image. The relevant code looks like this.

The commented out section is where it used to take the loaded image and apply it to a texturemap.I need to replace the lines of code in the first function with something that calls the second function correctly.
I have tried using function imageLoadComplete (e:Event = null)and calling it with imageLoadComplete(); in the first function but although it compile and runs without error, the program does not work properly. I suspect this is to do with the dispatchEvent(); line which I do not understand.
Anyone have any ideas why this wont work now that its inside of a MC called " content "? It works fine on the main _root. but once I moved it in.. it stopped working.Images load fine, just doesn't want to scroll on mouse rollover.. Also any thoughts on how to get this to continue to scroll until mouse over?[code]
View 1 RepliesI want to add a simple "play again" button when my FLV stops playing. Pretty simple, right?or whatever reason I can't add an eventListener when my video stops though. I can't even trace anything. the video loads i can dynamically change the volume so it's not like i'm referencing it wrong or something like that.

If I use Publish Setting and choose a different folder for the .swf and .html file that Flash CS3 will be generating then the audio/sound will not work when open the .html file in a browser. However, if I choose to the "Publish" option or "Publish Setting" but choose the same folder for the .html and .swf folder then the sound will work when opening the .html file inside a browser.[code]

We have a large flash site which is translated into 11 languages. We have a font loading system whereby all the characters required to display the site in each language are embedded in external swfs (so 11 swfs).recent update to the site requires us to use the Text Layout Framework (TLF) for one area of text display, which of course only supports fonts embedded in the new CFF format. I've attempted to embed a second instance of the font using the tag embedAsCFF="true", and after loading in the font SWF I can see this font is correctly registered as it shows up in the array returned by Font.enumerateFonts.The TextFlow instance I am using has the following properties set:

I spent almost a week trying to figure out how to unload a currently loaded swf using its button and loading a new swf... I have three files, a main.fla, file1.fla and file2.fla. In my main.fla, I have a code which loads the other two files. If i will click the "unload" button in the file1.swf, I would like the main.fla to unload the file1.swf and load the other file, file2.swf. Here is the code to load the file1.swf:

Now what happens is tht only one button is visible or workin at any point of time. But if i use say, "xyz_button" as the params for the about_button. then it works fine. i can see both the buttons. also i tried giving unique names to the button, even that didnt work.

Edit: I'd like to add that I have chosen to embed all uppercase,lowercase, and punctuation marks, and I additionally added â„¢ and ® to ensure they'd appear, but, the trademark logo still does not appear.
I'm using flash 5 to develop a dynamic banner. It loads a txt file in an single line text field that moves from right to left, similar an electronic bank display. What I need is to check when the last character of the text loaded gets out of the stage (-x), so I can send the text field to its original position simulating a continuous loop animation. (I could do this using flashMX cause the text field scales according to the text size but I have to use flash5 ).
View 7 RepliesI have a .Swf, which has 3 fonts embedded in it, they are all exported in frame 1 for AS. This swf loads any number of external .swfs which have dynamically generated textfields inside of them. This text must be embedded text because effects may be applied to them. I do not want to embed the three fonts into every external swf, and do not think I should have to. The font exists in the Loading swf and I have registered the fonts to the global font list. If I print this list from the loaded swf, all three fonts are present, but when I try to use any of them, my textfiels are empty.
how do I utilize a font which is embedded in a swf, from a swf which has been loaded into that swf?

which is exactly what I would expect. Yet, my text box is still blank. I have embedText = true on the text box, and have applied a string to the "text" property, so it's nothing silly liek that.
- Created a seperate swf with 2 fonts in the library, linkage "_Arial" and "_ArialBold". "_ArialBold" has the style set to "bold". On the first frame I have:
Font.registerFont(_Arial);
Font.registerFont(_ArialBold);
When I load the swf in my main application and itterate through the list of available fonts the 2 new fonts are returned, but fontName outputs "Arial" in both cases not the linkage name.
textformat.font = "Arial";
This works fine, but I can't figure out how to assign the embedded font "_ArialBold" to a textfield. How is this done?
swf that is at 30fps. So by default, it plays at 30fps. Is there any way using code I can slow down this subswf to play at 12fps...and not automatically go to the default of the root swf's fps?

So I'd just like to disable any external actionscript and really just load an SWF's assets for use.
View 6 RepliesI've had a Flash website up and running for about a year which includes an external text file linked to a dynamic text field.
Everything worked well until I recently added content to the external text file.
Suddenly, the file won't load in flash.
If I play around and cut a line here or there, it sometimes loads. Sometimes not. Sometimes it looks like there might be a character limit. Sometimes it looks like flash might be having a problem with certain characters.
So my questions are:
1.) Does Flash have a limit on the amount of characters that can be displayed in a dynamic field.
2.) If so, can this be changed with as3?

I have embedded a flv video onto the stage. I then have loaded in an image which is transparent enough to see the video through it. The problem is I cant now access the video player to control it. Is there anyway to bring the embedded video on the stage above the loaded in image so I can actually click play on the control bar and play the video?

I've been asked to take a video off a website (.swf file) and burn it onto a CD for internal office use. Unfortunately, the .swf file on the website is severely embedded, and I have tried every way possible to get this file off the site. I've tried saving the file to my computer and loading it with a Loader in Flash. The only thing that works is if I take the .swf's embed code and place it on a different website, which is not what I'm trying to accomplish. So, my question: is there a way to Load an external severely embedded .swf into a Flash movie? I understand how to Load a .swf that has not been severely embedded, but I'm stumped on this one. I understand that companies really embed their content so that people can't rip it off, that' a given.
