swf that is at 30fps. So by default, it plays at 30fps. Is there any way using code I can slow down this subswf to play at 12fps...and not automatically go to the default of the root swf's fps?

I have made a html file in which a swf is embedded with swf object. this swf contain dynamically loaded audio files. It works fine in offline but when it is uploaded it does not show the movie(swf is not playing) I see only empty space. i thought that it may take time to load, but even after waiting for long time the swf did not play and it shows blank white space. Either through actionscript and/or a transparent button, I want the movie to repeat endlessly on rollover and stop on rollout. I am using AS3 and have embedded a video into flash using player. I want to play pause the video.
So, I am using ns.pause(); to pause the video and its working. ns denotes the instance name.
Simultaneously, i am using ns.play(); to play the video. But its not working.
I have one swf banner which I want it into .aspx page. The website runs ok under http and the banner plays correctly. After we set the website to run under https, the banner stopped to load. I've tried to load this banner via http link from inside https running page. Nothing happened as well.

I'm new to Flash, and obviously AS3 (or AS in general) and am currently making a menu in which I have 2 video files.I want people to be able to play and pause (and stop) these videos.I currently have them playing and pausing using the FLVplayback method with no skins (have to make my own buttons). Though this is working I really need the video files to be embedded into the .swf/.fla as apposed to an external video.I have imported the videos into the library but they're not in use atm.
Is it possible to tell FLVplayback to use a embedded file from the library?If not is it possible to make a embedded video play/pause/stop in AS3 any other way? I couldn't seem to get it to which is why I went to FLVplayback method.

View 2 Repliesgetting a rotating banner I downloaded to actually work on my home page. So I'm using FrontPage 2003. I've got my index page open and I select Insert, Picture, Movie in Flash Format. I browse through my subfolder and select the swf file. But it will not play!However, when I follow the exact same steps, but on a page that is located within the subfolder where all the files are located, the video plays just fine. So I know it probably has something to do with my file path, but I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. My files are located like this:

(There is the deploy folder which has two subfolders in it - banner and js.)

I've tried copying and pasting all of the files so they're in the root folder, and then embedding the swf, and it still doesn't work.I've tried editing the banner.xml page and telling all the folder paths to start from the root folder, and that hasn't worked either.
it's possible to use play and stop methods on an instance of an SWF that's been embedded into class using the Embed metatag?I've not been able to get it to work, and have read that it's not possible with video, so am wondering if the same is true for any SWF?
View 4 RepliesI have a .Swf, which has 3 fonts embedded in it, they are all exported in frame 1 for AS. This swf loads any number of external .swfs which have dynamically generated textfields inside of them. This text must be embedded text because effects may be applied to them. I do not want to embed the three fonts into every external swf, and do not think I should have to. The font exists in the Loading swf and I have registered the fonts to the global font list. If I print this list from the loaded swf, all three fonts are present, but when I try to use any of them, my textfiels are empty.
how do I utilize a font which is embedded in a swf, from a swf which has been loaded into that swf?

which is exactly what I would expect. Yet, my text box is still blank. I have embedText = true on the text box, and have applied a string to the "text" property, so it's nothing silly liek that.
- Created a seperate swf with 2 fonts in the library, linkage "_Arial" and "_ArialBold". "_ArialBold" has the style set to "bold". On the first frame I have:
Font.registerFont(_Arial);
Font.registerFont(_ArialBold);
When I load the swf in my main application and itterate through the list of available fonts the 2 new fonts are returned, but fontName outputs "Arial" in both cases not the linkage name.

This works fine, but I can't figure out how to assign the embedded font "_ArialBold" to a textfield. How is this done?
I have embedded a flv video onto the stage. I then have loaded in an image which is transparent enough to see the video through it. The problem is I cant now access the video player to control it. Is there anyway to bring the embedded video on the stage above the loaded in image so I can actually click play on the control bar and play the video?

I inserted the swf in 'insert media' - 'shockwave' and the thing works when I press play to view it within dreamweaver. However, when I try to view it on a browser, either locally or remotely, it doesn't work.
I have been searching the web and all of the codes I have found are to play external swf files that have a timeline. The file that I am trying to load does not have a timeline. I am using the Flixel framework for this project and the file that I want to play is also made in Flixel(don't have the source file just the swf file).Most of the code I have is from a cutscene template that I found on the Flixel forum. When I run this I get this error: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert SponsorsState_SwfClass@fb5161 to flash.display.MovieClip., all I want to do is play the swf file for a set frame count then move onto the next state.
I am testing on a Xoom device, running OS 3.2. The project is built (in Eclipse) using the 3.1 library.
I have the latest version of flash installed, and embedded flash plays fine in my tablet's browser.
If I create an activity like this:

Then I hear the sound playing for the flash, but it shows up as a white box.
Similarly, any other page with embedded flash has the same problem. I've also tried making a string containing static HTML content, and loading that into the browser... but it has the same problem.
I've read every solution I could find online, from setting the view to invisible until the onPageFinish event is called, to extending the WebView class, and paining over it. I've tried reflection, to call hidden properties on the WebView's settings for enabling flash, etc. Nothing works.
was wondering if I could get some direction on something that I have been wondering about for a while. There have several flash video players that I have seen that only start to load/play the video when the object is visible on the screen.For instance, if I click a link to an html page with an auto playing flv on it, and then minimize the window. The video will only start to play/load once I maximize the window again. The other instance I have seen it is with the position of the page. So if an flv is placed onto a long html page, all the way at the bottom, it will only begin to load/play once I have scrolled to make it visible.

View 6 RepliesI have a movie embedded and I am passing a variable to the root movie for it to play when the embedded movie is complete. I know the variable is getting passed because I am displaying the value in as dynamic text but the parent movie will not play. This is what I have:

I know there is a way to tell the parent movie to play from the embedded movie by using TellTarget but I would like to find out why this doesn't work.

These are the problem: In my main file I have a sound object (music) and then load the video when I reduce the volume of the music of the main file to 0 that the louder the sound from FLV videos. how to grab the transparency (or alpha value) of individual pixels in an embedded or loaded video? We tried copying over a frame of video into a bitmapdata object with transparency enabled. However, even though we can "see through" the video at certain spots (indicating alpha = 0 there), the alpha value comes back as 0xFF for every single pixel in the BitmapData object.Obviously alpha data is being stored inside the embedded video, but how can I actually get that value?

View 1 RepliesI have my flash document set up in the following way: On the main timeline I have my buttons that I want to play movie clips embedded inside a movie clip on the main timeline.However, when I click each different button, the current movie clip stops playing and then the movie clip corresponding to the button plays.
I want them all to be able to play at once. So for example you push button 1 and the alien plays, but half way through you could click button 2 and the alien clip would keep playing, but also the helicopter clip would begin to play as well.Here is the code I have so far:
