I have made a html file in which a swf is embedded with swf object. this swf contain dynamically loaded audio files. It works fine in offline but when it is uploaded it does not show the movie(swf is not playing) I see only empty space. i thought that it may take time to load, but even after waiting for long time the swf did not play and it shows blank white space. I inserted the swf in 'insert media' - 'shockwave' and the thing works when I press play to view it within dreamweaver. However, when I try to view it on a browser, either locally or remotely, it doesn't work.
I have made a presentation with voice over, in which the images and audio files are loaded externelly from the folder where the swf was placed. the voice over files are in MP3 format, loaded with the script follows

Without including swfobject.js can only swf files be loaded through html.And if so is there a common tag for all the browsers.

My goal is to change the page content at specific times of the embedded video.
I have to call an ActionScript method via Javascript, but I have a problem accessing the flash object itself. I embed the flash file via the help of swfobject.
Previously, when I use the static publishing approach, I could easily get the flash object by calling these methods:
swfobject.registerObject("flash_object", "9", "expressInstall.swf");
var flash_object = swfobject.getObjectById("flash_object");
For some technical reasons, now I have to use the dynamic publishing approach (using swfobject.embedSWF). But, as mentioned in the documentation, the method getObjectById can only be used if you use static publishing approach.
Now, how can I access the flash object?
I made a flash mp3 player and it works fine in any other test pages. but when i embed it onto my site it just shows blank. what do i do? my site is [URL] and the flash player i tested here [URL] and it plays. View 1 RepliesI'm just getting into web design and I'm trying to make a few things work with embedding video onto a webpage. I have some video I shot and edited in Avid and I used a video converter to convert the avi into a swf file.
I followed the swfobject and google to code up the html. However, when I play the file in Firefox, the video plays but doesn't include the stop/pause buttons nor the scrubber button or volume control. Is there something else I need to do?When I upload the videos to youtube or vimeo it has the controls but I would like to keep the videos on my website.
Ive been trying to include an swf with buttons, that plays .flv videos, into this html page: [URL] (feel free to view source) Im having trouble because i think the swf 'links' to flv files, and neither are in the same directory as the html page - the swf is just not showing up. i dont want to duplicate the swf and its corresponding flash files if theyre already hosted once by this client - does anyone have a solution, or is the problem actually something else? the swf files can be downloaded at: [URL]

Normally i would publish using Flash CS4, however SEO requirements dictate that i need to use SWFObject. now, i have all the same publishing settings as i would have using AC_FL_RunContent.however, it doesnt 'center':

however when i use SWFObject, i doesnt not extend the dimensions, it does not scale to natual size, and it does not center in the browser. it just sits on the top left of the screen.either there is something very wrong with the javascript or i have made a mistake with the parameters.

I have a full screen flash movie that loads and displays correctly in firefox and chrome. In IE, however, it displays at 1/3 the width. The embedded code is relatively simple:

With swfobject 2.2, how do you specify the desired version of flash you require? I need flash 10, but swfobject won't perform an upgrade install with the provided expressInstall. swf in the swfobject 2.2 distributable. How do I get an upgrade install to occur for flash 10?
View 1 RepliesI have a full flash site which uses swfobject to embed it 100% height and width. I'm using swffit to force a browser scroll bar for pages with a large amount of content. This is all fine and works perfectly. I also have the content in HTML format, as alternative content and this also works apart from in order to get the flash swfobject to work I need to add the overflow = hidden in the CSS, like:

However, for all other pages i.e contact.html aboutus.html we need the animation to skip to the end straight away and not to play the whole animation through. I was thinking this would be controlled by a variable or some kind of external text file ect. Basically in the first frame the actionscript needs to basically say
"if this html page is aboutus.html then go to the last frame and stop" and with the index page it would say "if this html page is index.html then keep playing"

In case there is less line breaks (<br />) the text in the last paragraph is shown truncated from the beginnng (so it's like "ny way to make the space..."). Is this a bug in Flash Player or is there any way to render text below embered swf better?

i have been reading all over looking how to get flash to resize and i have seen all about setting the height and width to 100% but these all seem to be when the swf IS the webpage.i'm looking to embed just a piece of flash into my html page, which i need to resize on browser resize.

View 2 RepliesI have embedded an automatic slideshow as a swf file into a website I'm designing for my parents. When I test the swf file, it performs exactly as expected but when I embed it into the html, it just sits there and doesn't run/animate/whatever.
The slideshow (should) automatically run through a group of 7 photos, with a fade transition and was all done with actionscript, loading the external jpeg files into alternate movieclip containers etc etc.
The web page where it doesn't work is here: [URL] - you can see that the swf just sits there, doing absolutely nothing.

I am using swfin to embed a swf object (video player) and it loads fine in all browsers, but in firefox it won't "start".I have to right click on the movie area and "start" is unchecked so I click on "start" and it will start just fine. Yet, in chrome and IE (haven't moved to a mac for testing yet) it fires up and starts just as I expected. I have tried swfobject instead of swfin and I have IE issues that I couldn't seem to correct. Hence moving to swfin.Here is the swfin code:

When I compile the swf there are no errors yet when I embed it into a web page i keep getting thrown either one of these two errors the first time the page loads in Safari and Chrome TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference at tracks/loadFlashvars()[code]In firefox I get thrown the same errors everytime the page loads. View 1 RepliesI am creating a Flash project for a fundraising event and tend to test it every now and again. It is an accordion menu. It is going on a html page. I want the height to be relative to the width and the width to equal 100% of the browser window. When I set the html publish settings, I set it to 100% width & height. Then I embedded a swf using the loadmovie() method. I published it again. Everything seemed to be working OK but when my menu loads with the embedded swf, it goes back to normal size (actual size of project - 450x230).

However, when I open the html file on Internet Explorer, the preloader has disappeared. (It works fine when I clicked simulate download when playing the website in flash)
