ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash 8 Template - External Link
Apr 20, 2009
I am currently working with a flash template, the links contained within originally linked to other scenes within the original movie, I have removed the nav and its elements and created a new flash file as I want to use the navigation on a static website, so I want to link the nav buttons to static pages instead of internal pages. See [URL] The code for the current buttons is below, does anyone know how I can doctor the on(release) part so that I can point to a url rather than an internal link?
I have one of these XML driven Flash templates and I have several links that open _blank pages, I would like to stop the background music when they are clicked. I know I need a root stop all function and I think I would then define that function in the <link></link> tag in the XML...
If you make multiple flash files from the same template and then edit that template, will all those files have those same changes? If not, is there a way to make the same change on multiple files at once? Basically the same idea as linking HTML files to a single CSS file...
Jesus Christ - I thought I was really good in flash.Got this template and I can't see S***. WTH - is it supposed to be this difficult to manipulate a template or am I stupid??? Go into project explorer and can't see much AS so how the hwll are they getting the images and text into the flash swf. By the html??? I don't think so.
I used the CS5 Flash templates>sample files>preloader for external file, to create my preloader.The problem is that when the preloader is done and my SWF is loaded, my SWF has already started playing.It is an animation that builds for 200 frames then buttons appear.By the time the SWF appears it has already gotten to the button frame.Depending on connection speed I have caught the animation building.
Here is the preloader action: var contentLoader:Loader; loadContent("stage002.swf"); function loadContent(url:String):void { contentLoader = new Loader();
have had some trouble coupla weeks finding answers on this - hope i manage to explain myself to get right answer :-)Have a swf file on a website with buttons which each need to link to lightboxes with same class.Now I have following in flash:
DocButt2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, DocClick2); function DocClick2(event:MouseEvent):void{ navigateToURL(new URLRequest ("signup.php?
I wanna link a movie clip which has instace name test1 to a external urlI am using a menu list which has main movieclip instance name as 'Primary_Menu'. And inside this main movie clip there are 7 menus (home, about us etc..) each menus are movie clip and has instance names.Below code is written for linking them to respective frames. but i need to give external url for last menu (test1)
Is there a cross-browser solution available to give a flash banner an html link, without putting it into the flash itself? (i.e. the Flash has no clickable button in it). I tried giving the surrounding anchor tag a high z-index, but that did not work. I'm using the standard google swfobject to include the flash banner, but am not stuck on using that.
I'm really new to using actionscript and am trying to figure out something that seems like it should be really simple. I have eight images on my screen and each one links to an external page.[code]...
Those eight images fade out one at a time while at the same time a new image is fading in with a different external link. This works great the first time through. But, when the first image fades back in, when you click on it, it links to the link of the second image. If you reset your cookies, it fixes itself for the first round again, but how can I make this work all the time?
I got my HTML embedded in my flash file, finally!But now I want some parts of the text that is in the HTML file to link to a specific label in flash itself.What variable can I use for this? or even a Href link?
I made a simple website with a flash menu, that opens internal links in an iframe. However, I have a few other (not included in the menu) external links, which open in the same iframe. And after I click on one of them and it loads in the iframe, the buttons on the menu stop working. I'm beginning to think it has something to do with the internet explorer, since it works on some computers. But I'm not sure... not very good at this.
This question stems from this question that I asked yesterday.I've followed Theo's advice and created a .swc with all the common classes and added the .swc as an external library to my module .swf. This all seems to have worked smoothly--I don't get TypeErrors and my classes are all present in the catalog.xml of the .swc file when I unzip it--but now I've encountered a new problem: when I try to link a symbol in the module .fla's library to a base class from my .swc rsl, it says the base class definition can't be found in the classpath. The whole reason I want to use rsls is so I can do this,If I now include the project's source path or the .swc in the normal (not external) library path, will that cancel the sharing benefits of the rsl, or will the compiler still know not to compile the shared classes into the module .swf?
I've re done a couple of pages on my website and as a result of the new design have had to change some of the coding from being on the timeline to being in an external as document linked to my fla. This is significant only because I can link to external pdf.zips no problem on the timeline but I can't seem to translate the code to the external file. Can anyone out there help me out with this (hopefully) simply problem?I'm playing with different variations of this below but I'm constantly getting the 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method navigateToURL.
function onEnglishClick(event:MouseEvent):void { var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.bigredcreativeconcepts.com/UB_Flyer_English.pdf.zip");
How to change a link inside the flash element? I have SWF file with set a link inside and I want to change to mine on the website. This thing I need to control the advertisment system.Trying this, but not working:
<style> #content { position: absolute; z-index:2;
[code]....
But you need everytime to put top, left, margin-bottom parameters. Can someone modify it to make working correct without pointing top, left, margin-bottom parameters?
I have this template that i am modifying [URL] Photo gallery i am trying to use[URL] when you click on any of the images the site reframes and then you see a xml text box i want to replace that xml text box with an xml photogallery but i am not really familiar with the language and its been a long time since i did any web work.
i have created a flash animation for my homepage, i want to make part of that flash animation a "enter" button so when clicked would go to my page 2 on my website.
i have never done any script before and only used dreamweaver on a mac. is there an easy way to create this button to link to my next page and to stop my file to stop looping?
I have created a small application which takes it's information from an xml file and displayes it in a news ticker which is a flash Flash AS2 application. tell me the correct way to format the link tag in the xml if there is a standard when wanting to state a target for the link? The xml file currently looks like:
So what I want to do is to be able to open the link in a taget=_blank window however adding that to the end of the url does not currently work.I have added a comma and also tried using a space, space and encompassing in quotes but none are working.
I have external JPEGs loading into a container. Can I do something to make those external JPEGs that load into the container have links so when they get clicked they go to a website? I'm using AS 2.
as we are using in html<a href="#one> abc </a>ref. to<a name=one></a>xyzso that when click on abc, goes to text - xyz.in flash (as2)if we have a button (linked with a html file)and on click - we want to open html and go to directly on text - xyzin which way we have to give link on that button.(whats the idea for this)
I have two questions (I'm a photographer and flash novice):
1) I just bought this flash template (URL...) and I need to edit it. Rewriting the text is easy, I just rewrite it in XML files, but I cant figure out how to change the font, font color and font size. Could somebody tell me how to do it?
2) I also bought this template (URL...) and I cant figure out how to edit name in the header and text in the top menu. I really cant find it anywhere (I dont see it in Adobe Flash and I dont see any jpeg or PSD file in the flash directory...)
I just purchased a flash template and can not seem to find where I place the logo. The template now has a logo in text, but I want to replace it with an image.
I am new to flash and i have .fla file of flash.i want to edit this file to use it.I want to change the buttons name and their hyperlinks in this fileI want to attach the .fla file with post but i don't know how to do this.
I am building an application template in FlashDevelop/Flash, to be used as the template for all our future projects. In a swc-free world, the template has a bunch of library symbols and a whole package of classes in the /lib/ folder that run the whole thing.
What I would like to do, is package all that up into a single swc, so the team can checkout the latest build of the swc from svn at the start of a project, put it in the /lib/ folder and forget about it.
However, all attempts to do this have failed so far. Is it even possible to put everything into one swc?
I am using a flash template with an xml file. I am trying to replace an image with a .swf file. Is this possible? And what tags do i use to replace the line below with a flash .swf in place of it? <image url="images/pic3.jpg"> I just want it to be a flash movie on top of a flash movie instead of a pic.
