I have a very general requirement that seemed very simple: Step 1: Load a new external JPEG image into a MC with a string var encoding a string caption in the URL link (VALUE="../fadeTest.swf?someTextVar=TestCaption") within the EMBED / OBJECT sections. I know how to do this and it semed to work fine. STEP2: When the JPEG is loaded I would like the substituted Text to Fade In over the JPEG. The JPEG should also fade in before the Text. The fade rate should be programmable.
I have a movie that calls other movie clips with a preload and fade for each external mc called. but after you call and load the swf in the container it disappears aftre about 30 seconds it disappears if you dont do anything and then it comes back after about 30 seconds. I am using this script for the preload object and fade.
Then this is on every frame to make it use the preload and fade in the new loaded swf after it shows it loading. clip.loadMovie("GuardHouse.swf"); clip._alpha = 0; now = 0; text.dummy = 1; //now load the external file into the myData object myData.load("GuardHouse.txt"); stop();
Also I dont know if this has anything to do with this problem but when I load an external swf it does not show any actions i have in there or any text but does show images and shapes but not dynamic text boxes or fades or anything like that. You can view it at the url below. I have listed the link to the main movie swf and the map1.swf that it calls when you click on floor plan so you can see when you view the map1.swf by itself there is more stuff that does not show up when loaded into the main swf. [URL]
main.swf load with a preload normaly and later that is loaded i load inner.swf in main.swf.main and inner have preloaders and movie, but when inner.swf is loaded the movie inner play and goto frame 1 and play and goto frame 1 and this hava a command stop(); in latest frame.if i load inner2.swf in main and inner2 no have a preload the movie no have problem! how insert preload when load a external movie?
Normally I do get by with a lot of R&D, but for some reason am stumped and really pressed for time!An interactive file (say main.swf) is already ready to go.I now need to make this play over a background (say bg.swf) which is a fairly heavy file.
What I'm trying to do it this:Open a new flash document (say "index.fla")- on the first frame, call "bg.swf" by using "loadMovie('bg.swf', 2)"[where 2 is the level number] and then calling "main.swf" by using "loadMovie('main.swf' 4)" [where 4 is the level number]
Now the problem I am facing is this:"bg.swf" is quite a heavy file so takes quite some time to load, whereas "main.swf" is much lighter and loads before "bg.swf" buffers fully.
What I want to achieve is this:Create a new swf file (say "index.swf"), making sure that "main.swf" does not load until "bg.swf" loads completely under it. Note: I cannot make any edits to "main.swf" (which is like a slideshow) file and it is rendered such that it starts the slideshow after 5 seconds.
Based on the Kirupa Flash XML Gallery, I tried to expand it as far as I could. Right now, it loads the images, generates buttons dynamically according to how many images are in the XML que, and each image is hyperlinked. I want to load in a swf file dynamically via XML into an another empty movieclip everytime I go to a new image. In another words if I have 9 images in my gallery, each image is assigned a swf file to load into another empty movieclip.
I'm trying to load external image into Flash like BitmapData. Problem is, whan I load image into movieClip and than I want to convert it by using draw(), in bitmapData variable is an old statement of mc (before loadClip instruction). But from the logic of source code is imposibe.
I am working on this one project that has a couple of movieclips (already placed on stage) which have a custom class set to export via the Library. Each of those custom classes loads an external SWF using URLRequest().
Is it possible (or, what is the best way) to preload the whole project first, including the external SWFs?
I am currently checking if something is true or false at an external link. What I want to do is, integrate a "failsafe" function, so if the external link should be down I'll display something special. I'm not sure how to do this, but what I had in mind was to define x amount of seconds and if nothing has been received by that time, terminate the call to the link and do something else.
What I currently have is: ActionScript Code: var loadContainer:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); loadContainer.onData = function(resp:String){ if(resp.indexOf("true")!=-1){ //true } else { //false }} loadContainer.load("[URL]")
I have a flash movie clip and need to load an external image inside the clip that reference to an external URL.. like URL i did something with XML but the image persist on every clip because it loads from actionscript using the x and y cords.
I have a SWF file used as a banner advertisement but there is a 35kb size limit. My file is just under 60kb, and I won't be able to optimize the images any further. (An early version can be found here:URL...)I was thinking perhaps I could load 2 of my images dynamically?I actually try to stay away from Flash and Actionscript, but had to use it for this advertisement. The animation is built with transitions and symbols in the timeline. That being said I know just enough actionscript to control the timeline / playback but not how to dynaimcally load images, then assign those images to the symbols I use in my animations.Could someone hold my hand for about 5 minutes and give me the dummy 101 on how to dynamically load an image that a symbol will reference?Not a permanent solution, but I discovered that I can make a simple pre-loader swf that has the background, and load the real swf using this simple actionscript code:[code]
I need to fill some movieclip with an external image in AS3. I know how to use an image contained in the FLA's library as background filling, but I don't know how to do this with an external loaded image.
I bought a third-party image gallery xml driven where images activate html links. I need the image, when pressed, to import an external swf in the same movieclip where the gallery is and not external html links.
here the xml code:

title

[Code]....
any image simple recall a html link, while I need to load in the same movieclip an external movieclip.
I have created buttons with this Actionscript. They load in the external swf's fine, but when I click on them again they load them in again, and again, and again... What do I need to write in the code so it loads in fresh everytime you click on the button? (or in other words, cleans up the load in page before it loads in new files).
I have file with attachMovieClip repeated via setInterval. Even after I do removeMovieClip, the interval becomes faster everytime I press load button. Already did a search on the forum and found something, but to no avail. Following is code, and i have attached files.
I am making a flash site where one of my pages loads an external swf. In this external swf I have sub pages with links. My problem is when I visit a page from this external swf, and then go to a page from my main website (clicking my main time line buttons) and then go back to the page with the external swf i was previously on, the page would go to the last page i was on, instead of refreshing it back to the main frame of the external swf.
I made a small, simple example of what I am experiencing on the site I'm working on.
This shouldn't be too difficult, but what I have is a button, which in the 'over' state I want to load an external image, and then have the image disappear when the users mouse hovers off the button
I'm making a flv movie with dynamically loaded cuepoints (from xml).On every cuepoint there should fade in an image (jpg) . The path to this image is sent with the cuepoints.To be sure an image is loaded before the cuepoint is passed, i've created a preloader that preloads 4 image from the xml before even starting the video.After the video is started the preloader preloads the remaining images in the background.All works well expect for 1 thing:Flash does not seem to cache my preloaded images. In the bandwidthprofiler i can see that when a cuepoint passes, flash loads the preloaded images again. why does flash reload the image while it is already preloaded?[code]
I am trying to preload images for an image gallery ina flash movie.
i have the images externally loaded so as not to bloat the swf but how do i start a preload for all the images when someone gets to the home/front page, so that by the time they get to the image gallery everything is loaded in memory so there's no delay?
I'm having a sound object being loaded. And I want that for as long as it is buffering to have it written in a textfield "loading..." and when it starts playing to write in that textfield the name of the song. And i want this to happen everytime the buffer needs to load and everytime the song resumes play state.
I have a blank container mc into which I am loading JPGs after you click on a button. There are 10 buttons in the movie, each associated with a different JPG.This container_mc is part of a function called on the main Timeline.The Flash movie is 1 frame on the main Timeline. This code works correctly on the first JPG when I click on a button for the first time), but then when you click on a different button I believe it just uses the dimensions and coordinates of the first JPG. How can I reset or refresh (unload, reload) this function so it works correctly every time I load a new JPG?
//after full size image loads into detailthumb_mc, //resize image so that neither width nor height is > 150, tben recenter onClipEvent(load) { var maxWidth = 150;
How do i modify this so that the proj_1_1_mc movieclip loads an external image instead of putting it in the flash file and thus bloating the .swf file?
When I use Loader to load the same external image twice (same URL), what happens the second time? Is it taken from cache or does it actually load again?
I only want to display a single image (no gallery)I would like to get the url for the image via an xml.Here is a copy of my current action script which has already pulled in the xml data which includes the node with the url for the photo.
I would like to load an external image to a flashwebsite.I do this using a Loader.[code]When I test the swf offline, it works. But when I put everything online and I browse to the HTML file, it doesn't load the images anymore.What do I have to do to load external images online?
