AS3 :: Give Link To A Movieclip To External Url In Flash?

I wanna link a movie clip which has instace name test1 to a external urlI am using a menu list which has main movieclip instance name as 'Primary_Menu'. And inside this main movie clip there are 7 menus (home, about us etc..) each menus are movie clip and has instance names.Below code is written for linking them to respective frames. but i need to give external url for last menu (test1)

Is there a cross-browser solution available to give a flash banner an html link, without putting it into the flash itself? (i.e. the Flash has no clickable button in it). I tried giving the surrounding anchor tag a high z-index, but that did not work. I'm using the standard google swfobject to include the flash banner, but am not stuck on using that.

I have a main fla, which has some buttons on the stage. When you click on a button an external swf loads(using loadMovie method) inside container_mc which is an empty movieclip.
On that specific external swf, I have created an empty movieclip called content_mc which also loads external swfs.
Is it possible to call the content_mc from the main fla? For example when clicking a button of the main fla, how can I point to content_mc which is part of the external swf?

Say User uploads a front facing photo. I give co-ordinates. I want to give user facility to move the points to match eyes and lips on their uploaded photo. So I want to get the editable shape. I bought a third-party image gallery xml driven where images activate html links. I need the image, when pressed, to import an external swf in the same movieclip where the gallery is and not external html links.

is it possible for me to give a movieclip the same position as another movieclip. meaning they will be on top of eachother and when one moves the other moves as well.i know you can do it with the mouse:[code]It would be a great way to cheat the program as im having some problems, but this would fix it. the 2 movieclips though is in a class and the other is on the stage.

When i put a movieclip on the stage, every time i do that, i have to click on it, press f9 (to show the movieclip actions pannel) and past a code on it... and i will use this movielcip a lot of times in my project, so, everytime i put it on the stage i have to put the code on it again... is there a way to attribute the same code to my movieclip (automatically) everytime i put my mc on the stage?

Is there any way to dynamically give a movieclip an instance name? This little process is gonna be spread out to a couple hundred dots, and while it's not really all that hard to type in the variable by hand (in fact it'd "only" take half an hour or so), but the more done dynamically the better, I think.
What I want to do is have a simple movie clip which checks it's own instance name as a variable, and then gotoAndPlay("thatvariable");. For example, say I have a movie clip with instance name "a1". On the clip I'd like to put
onClipEvent (load) {
this.gotoAndPlay(_root.a1); //but in place of "_root.a1",
I'd like to be able to call the instance name so that I can copy and paste the code to multiple movieclips without manually changing the name.
}
_root.a1 is a variable which contains the name of a frame inside of a1, so when you boil it down, it's just telling itself to gotoAndPlay("framename") in a roundabout way. Is this at all possible?

I'm working on building a 'cover flow' similar to the scroll through iTunes uses for it's album covers. The only difference is my 'cover' needs a background MovieClip that will sit behind it and animate when the images are scrolled to get it a 3D effect. So I have a MovieClip I'm exporting called coverflowItem. This is the movie clip that will sit behind each 'cover' image and have the timeline I want to control from a different .as file. That file is called coverflow.as where all of the elements are assembled and animated.
What I need to do now is find out how to control each instanced coverflowItem so when the arrow buttons are clicked, not only do the covers slide to the appropriate side which they are currently doing now, but also have the associated MovieClip play giving the 3D illusion. I can call the functions from the coverflowItem.as in the coverflow.as but have had no luck actually getting the movie clips to play properly.

This code lets me assess the functions but not actually manipulate the MovieClip. I'm sure my logic if flawed.

My problem was that the When I apply the zoomIn effect of image,It is not actually inside the MovieClip.Image is coming out from the MovieClip during the zoomIn effect.
I want to apply a zoomIn effect for the image in the MovieClip only.

I am currently working with a flash template, the links contained within originally linked to other scenes within the original movie, I have removed the nav and its elements and created a new flash file as I want to use the navigation on a static website, so I want to link the nav buttons to static pages instead of internal pages. I'm really new to using actionscript and am trying to figure out something that seems like it should be really simple. I have eight images on my screen and each one links to an external page.[code]...
Those eight images fade out one at a time while at the same time a new image is fading in with a different external link. This works great the first time through. But, when the first image fades back in, when you click on it, it links to the link of the second image. If you reset your cookies, it fixes itself for the first round again, but how can I make this work all the time?

I made a simple website with a flash menu, that opens internal links in an iframe. However, I have a few other (not included in the menu) external links, which open in the same iframe. And after I click on one of them and it loads in the iframe, the buttons on the menu stop working. I'm beginning to think it has something to do with the internet explorer, since it works on some computers. But I'm not sure... not very good at this.

This question stems from this question that I asked yesterday.I've followed Theo's advice and created a .swc with all the common classes and added the .swc as an external library to my module .swf. This all seems to have worked smoothly--I don't get TypeErrors and my classes are all present in the catalog.xml of the .swc file when I unzip it--but now I've encountered a new problem: when I try to link a symbol in the module .fla's library to a base class from my .swc rsl, it says the base class definition can't be found in the classpath. The whole reason I want to use rsls is so I can do this,If I now include the project's source path or the .swc in the normal (not external) library path, will that cancel the sharing benefits of the rsl, or will the compiler still know not to compile the shared classes into the module .swf?

I've re done a couple of pages on my website and as a result of the new design have had to change some of the coding from being on the timeline to being in an external as document linked to my fla. This is significant only because I can link to external pdf.zips no problem on the timeline but I can't seem to translate the code to the external file. How can I get a button inside a movieclip link to a frame in another movieclip on the scene? I tried this code:
