ActionScript 2.0 :: [Flash] Mc Color Change Through External File?
Oct 5, 2009
I want to change the color of a movie clip, and I've succeeded with the following code:
var my_color:Color = new Color(mc);
my_color.setRGB(0xFF0000); // mc turns red
Now, this is only the start. What I really want is that the color is changed via an external textfile (or similar).I've gathered that this is possible with the LoadVariables function, but I can't seem to get it right. Does anyone have a solution for this? I'd also like to know how I should format the textfile code (should it be something like this: "&mc=0xFF0000"?)...

I'm doing a project for work and need to change the color on this file I purchased from iStockPhoto. It is a world map flash file, which highlights the country you select in green. I simply want to change it so that all highlights are done in Red instead, but am not a flash developer so not sure how to do it.
What I am trying to do is to have the button color change to a different color when it is on the page. The color only changes when I roll over it or hit it. Once I am on the page it changes back to the color it is on the up state.
I have loaded text on flash from an external txt. file. But when it comes to adding html to the files such as "font face" or to simply bold the text it won't work, I have check to have the html clicked on Flash, but the text just wont change.
I have a few movie clips that change color when they are rolled over and rolled out of which is great and works correctly but now I have add glows to those buttons to serve as borders or a stroke and when you roll over the buttons the color and the filter color changes.
How is it done? All I've seen on the web is how to change the color. Well how about going back. I'm talking about a MC with many colors. I can't just change back to a single hexadecimal color.
I can accomplish the change as it passes over a frame, but I can't get it to change back.
In the frame is this:
Code: cHurtColor = new Color(_root.compMC); cHurtColor.setRGB(0x00FF33);

I am looking for a way to change stroke color via AS3. The objects I would like to change are created with flash professional. They do have a fill. I just want to change the stroke color and not the fill color... is this possible? ... or am I stuck removing all fills and using a filter?
I am building a line drawing movie where I would like the user to be able to change colors using the AdvColorPicker I downloaded from Sephiroth.it.I don't know how to write the code that will change the line color upon picking one from the AdvColorPickerHere is the actionsript for the line drawing:
ActionScript Code: colors.onMouseDown = function() { if (1) {
Id like to add something more but dont know how.I[d like to make the MC to load a random color, in a color range that I specify, like #000000, #FFFFFF and #111111.Also, I want somew buttons to change between this colors, but with an ease transition.
I saw the following AS3 code in a "Class" which is used for changing the font color. How to modify it to change another font color say, Red, Green or Yellow.

Happy New Year 2010 everyone :) Just getting back into the Flash groove, and having a simple question.I have a movie(video player) where the color of the buttons changes. I've already drawn out the buttons and created a 1 color box(movieClip) that will be the background of all the buttons.
I've used ColorTransform to change the color of a rectangle that I used code to create, but what is the simplest way to go about changing a color in a movieClip containing a graphic that you physically have drawn out. Path to movieClip that I need to change the HEX value of: controls.btn_Sound.colorChip
I have a content area with dynamic text (title and detail) that changes depending what button a user is rolling over, and i want this text to load from an external file. I have 26 buttons total, so i need 26 different titles and 26 different details to load.
I have looked around and the only solution with the loadvars technique involves creating 26 separate .txt files and loading them all in, then calling them as needed. This seems like a big waste of CPU cycles and time creating each file.
Is there an easier way to go about tackling this? Ideal would be having all the text in 1 file, and calling each identified title and detail as needed.
How can I change the select ("highlight") color of an TextField in actionscript 3? I've got an input textfield with white text on a black backdrop and as a result, selections are invisible, which is horrible for usability.
How can I change color of text on certain words?My animation plays the text animation of THIS SALE IS RED HOT!!! I want RED HOT it to be red. It seems the array can be indexed in such a way to switch the color from Blue to Red.MY BANNER ADD
var myArray:Array = ["THIS","SALE","IS","RED HOT!!!",]; var tm:Timer = new Timer(500); tm.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, countdown);[code]....
if this question is kind of newbie I'm really new with flash but I'm using this dice on my site [URL].. and I managed to chage the color but I was wondering if it was possible to change the dots color to white as well?
I have this code that should change the color of a dynamic textfield when I rollover the link movieclip, and then back when I rollout. I get no compiler error, it just doesn't work.
