ActionScript 2.0 :: Hiding Flash Movie With MovieClipLoader()

I'm experiencing problems when I try to load a movie that uses LoadVars() into another movie that uses MovieClipLoader method to load the first file. My goal is to secure the flash movie and the contents that are accessed from the database and display the contents with a non-editable form (this is a "backend movie"). The best way I found is to load this "backend" swf with MovieClipLoader from another movie that acts as "frontend".
The problem is, that every time I load the main movie I'm able to see the form of the loaded clip but the content is not fully loaded (maybe because the ASP page has not delivered all the content to LoadVars). For example I can see 3 of 6 text that are being loaded with LoadVars() in the backend movie. Individually, the backend movie is working fine and I always can see my form with dynamic text without any interrumption. how can I load the movie to another one or how can I secure the backend including the URL that access the database?

I have movie clips I'm attempting to hide/show on click of seperate links... with one of the movie clips loading on default.My problem is, when I click the button to show the "non-default" movie clip, the default movie clip is still visible! .fla attached below with images (was not sure if images are required for future uploading of .fla's??)

I have a button that when pressed moves out of view and moves a second button into view. Then I have two movieclips, they look the same only one is animated and the other isn't, both on different layers. That part is working just fine. What I also want the button to do when clicked is show the animated movieclip (and hide the other if possible, but not necessary since it'll be under the animated one). Now I haven't gotten that far because I can't even get the animated movieclip to be hidden! I've been using visible = false; command for everything and it's been working up to now. Is it possible to hide a tweened movieclip? (It's a classic tween)

I'd like to have one button to use for hiding and unhiding movie clips. I think I'm having an issue with my if statement. I can get the button to hide the movie clip, but can't get it to work on unhiding the movie clip. Here's the code:

I want to dynically open this movie clip and move it to a specific location (x,y) on the main timeline on top of everything else.Then I want to draw lines on that new movie clip that display on top of the image on that movie clip.I have an idea on how to draw the lines, (well at least I think I do)

I have a MC called "Holder_mc "
I'm trying to load a Movie inside it via the MovieCliploader way.
This work and if I trace my target_mc it gives me :
_level0.Holder_mc.imageHolder_mc but if I try to attach another movie clip to target_mc with target_mc.attachMovie (values) then it doenst work.
and trace (target_mc.new_exhibition_view) .
Give s me undefined

I'm building a portfolio site for an art director. He has access to final swfs but not fla files, and I'm calling these final swfs into a main movie, using MovieClipLoader. The external swfs live in subfolders, relative to the location of the main movie. The problem, of course, is that when the external swfs are loaded they look for any additional swfs relative to the movie they're loaded into, and not relative to the folder they're located in. I've tried _lockroot -- no dice.

I have a flv playback compotent and I created a control bar with play and pause button. I would like to hide the bar until the mouse rolls over it and then it would appear for a few seconds and then hide again. Much like the skin effect, but I'm not using the skins.

We have a little in-house LMS with courses built in Flash. Scores are updated and retrieved with POSTs to PHP scripts which query a MySQL database. All the course content and quiz questions are in xml files. Those XML files are easily accessible from a user's Temporary Internet Files (sort of SCORM style, for those familiar with it) and while you'd have to be pretty desperate to cheat at something like a Fire Safety test, it's still a vulnerability we'd like to solve.
I intend to move the quiz data (and eventually, the course content) into a MySQL database, then probably build the XML in PHP and echo that to the Flash course (as we've been doing to update and retrieve assessment scores). I think I could limit how and when the xml is displayed by passing hashes and shared secrets and whatnot between the PHP page and Flash, but this only limits outside access, and anyone viewing the course legitimately will still see the XML passed around (I think..).
Surely I'm not reinventing fire here. Is there a method or a technology in existence that allows the safe, discrete passage of xml into Flash?

I have a swf object that is to the left of a header div that is 1000px wide. the swf is 303px wide. How would I make the swf on the left hide behind the window when the windows is only, say, 1050px wide?

notice how the object get hidden, still plays, but doesn't lose it's aspect ratio?
How does someone do this?

I am toggling show/hide using jQuery on a div block via [code]and it's working perfectly except for one minor detail.When there is a flash video player in that content area, the flash player will not hide along with the rest of the block via the "toggle" function.The strange thing is that it will hide the video using the hide() function but I'd rather use toggle() to keep track of my state and switch accordingly.Is this a bug in the toggle() function or am I forgetting something here?By the way, it appears to do this only in Google Chrome. Safari, Firefox, Opera all work fine, so I'm thinking this is a Chrome bug.

I'm a newbie to Flash. I have created a basic screensaver which has 8 different layers. 7 are hidden and 1 plays through as it is now. I was wondering if there is any way that on completing the timeline, it starts the timeline again and then shows the second layer and masks the 1st one. It would then do the same, masking the 2nd layer and showing the 3rd and so on.

In Internet Explorer 7 and 8 (WinXP/Flash 10), if I play my videos using the JW Player in the slider they work. However if I move to the next slide and then return to the original slide the video is no longer displayed - the audio is still audible and the video can be played and paused, but there is no image.

I'm trying to load a local SWF then catch a few events that are fired but I can't see why this isn't working.

I have a problem with loading an image path reference into a movieClip.On my movie loading I attachMovie according to i (no. of instances)Then I generate a copy of the instances (these are prepared ready for print - I have this working)
However, the initial creation of these instances is handled when the Flash movie loads and uses part of the code below to generate thumbnails:
myScroll.content.attachMovie("fav_content", "Stadium"+i, i);

myScroll.content["Stadium" + i].imageLocation = imgPath;

The class is called multiple times once then when triggered in a duplicate movieclip but fails somehow - maybe the clue is duplicate tho tried that (duplicateMovieClip..)

I currently have a few movieclips that I load into another movieclip container. I use the MovieClipLoader class to load them and make use of the onLoadProgress, onLoadStart, onLoadInit, onLoadComplete and onLoadError listeners.In the onLoadProgess listener, I listen for the loaded bytes and total bytes and put the the percentage into another movieclip's (that I put on the stage temporarily to show the loading) textbox. Here is the problem, the loading movieclip begins playing on the 40% loaded mark and does not wait to load 100%. This is weird and I don't understand what I could be doing wrong. Here is my code:

I'm building an application that is going to use Flash Remoting very heavily. I'm wondering how I should structure my Service connections. Should I put them in each(several) loaded movies or in the root timeline where any loaded move can access them. The latter would cause issues when trying to test each movie individually. But by putting the Service connections in each movie would require imports needed for FR at the top affecting load time. Also, I'm new to using the moviecliploader. I have a few functioning properly, however, is it wise to try and create a "smart" loader? Meaning use one loader having code to zip when the zip.swf is loaded and zag with zag.swf. Or should I just accept, and get in the habit of using a zip loader and a zag loader separately, meaning each loader simply serve a specific function.

I am trying to create a basic flash script to load an external swf file using MovieClipLoader class. Here's my code:

I simply copied it from a tutorial. Unfortunately it throws an error message as follows:
1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: MovieClipLoader
1180: Call to a possibly undefined method.
PS: I have CS3 professional in my machine but I am following Flash 8 book. But my CS3 application supports AS1, 2 and 3.

whenever I publish a FLA file I have, and load it onto a website, I see elements which aren't suppose to be within the frame sitting outside the frame.These elements are outside the canvas in flash and come in for brieft flashy moments but then fly back out again.How do I hide all files outside the canvas? I tried masking the top layer and adding everything underneath it and locking it but that never worked.

I have a small microsite built using Flash 4. It contains 5 'pages' assigned to individual keyframes, each keyframe separated by 5 frames (F5s). Each Keyframe is labelled 'page1' through to 'page5'. I have a navigation bar for the entire site which includes NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons. When the user reaches the LAST PAGE/KEYFRAME I do not want the NEXT BUTTON to show. I suspect it is something simple like nextbutton.visible = true - but I've spent a day trying to work out how to do this but without success.I am using AS3 and the existing coding is shown below.[code]

I download a flash template to take apart and play around with to make sure i still know my way around the software. Everything was going great until I discovered there are part of it that I can not find. The animation are not in the timeline or anywhere else I've looked. When I scrub through it they aren't there, but when I preview the movie (F12) they are always there. I managed to delete the pictures in those particular animations, but can not edit or find anything else.

I have a flex app that I want to hide in a div until the user clicks a link or element of some type. I've noticed that embedding the swf in a div with style display:none does not actually hide the swf, so how would I go about accomplishing this? The goal is to have the flex app loading in the background while the user does other things.
