I'm using a MovieClipLoader in order to load in a couple of images into my flash during runtime. And it works perfectly when I play it locally, as well as from the FTP so to speak, but when I go "live" with it - that is with a URL... it just doesn't work! The XML file that goes with it works very well, and I've traced the paths and they're the same live and local.

I made a quick flash document for my friend who posted it his MySpace. The document has 3 buttons, each with a URL attached to them. When I play the SWF file locally, the links work fine, however once it's published to MySpace, the links refuse to work. The hand icon comes up so it understands them at least as buttons, but it seems to do nothing when clicked in the web-browser. Also, I can open the SWF in my browser and it also works fine.
I'm using Flash CS5 and working in ActionScript 3.0.The three buttons are on one layer called "Buttons". I right click the button and click "Actions". From there, I click the "Code Snippets" and under the folder "Actions" there is an item called "Click to Go To Webpage". Here is the code it gives you by default:

I heard there was a problem with MySpace not allowing action scripts, and after checking the source code, the value is set to not allow action scripts. I don't think it's a browser issue, since it's working fine when I execute the SWF by itself, and when I load it into Firefox. It's just seems MySpace is having a problem with it.

I'm trying to load a local SWF then catch a few events that are fired but I can't see why this isn't working.

Now I was hoping that this would work, and the Parent would have "childLoaded caught 2" in the trace, but it doesn't.

I have a problem with loading an image path reference into a movieClip.On my movie loading I attachMovie according to i (no. of instances)Then I generate a copy of the instances (these are prepared ready for print - I have this working)
However, the initial creation of these instances is handled when the Flash movie loads and uses part of the code below to generate thumbnails:

myScroll.content["Stadium" + i].imageLocation = imgPath;

The class is called multiple times once then when triggered in a duplicate movieclip but fails somehow - maybe the clue is duplicate tho tried that (duplicateMovieClip..)

I'm experiencing problems when I try to load a movie that uses LoadVars() into another movie that uses MovieClipLoader method to load the first file. My goal is to secure the flash movie and the contents that are accessed from the database and display the contents with a non-editable form (this is a "backend movie"). The best way I found is to load this "backend" swf with MovieClipLoader from another movie that acts as "frontend".
The problem is, that every time I load the main movie I'm able to see the form of the loaded clip but the content is not fully loaded (maybe because the ASP page has not delivered all the content to LoadVars). For example I can see 3 of 6 text that are being loaded with LoadVars() in the backend movie. Individually, the backend movie is working fine and I always can see my form with dynamic text without any interrumption. how can I load the movie to another one or how can I secure the backend including the URL that access the database?

I currently have a few movieclips that I load into another movieclip container. I use the MovieClipLoader class to load them and make use of the onLoadProgress, onLoadStart, onLoadInit, onLoadComplete and onLoadError listeners.In the onLoadProgess listener, I listen for the loaded bytes and total bytes and put the the percentage into another movieclip's (that I put on the stage temporarily to show the loading) textbox. Here is the problem, the loading movieclip begins playing on the 40% loaded mark and does not wait to load 100%. This is weird and I don't understand what I could be doing wrong. Here is my code:

I'm building an application that is going to use Flash Remoting very heavily. I'm wondering how I should structure my Service connections. Should I put them in each(several) loaded movies or in the root timeline where any loaded move can access them. The latter would cause issues when trying to test each movie individually. But by putting the Service connections in each movie would require imports needed for FR at the top affecting load time. Also, I'm new to using the moviecliploader. I have a few functioning properly, however, is it wise to try and create a "smart" loader? Meaning use one loader having code to zip when the zip.swf is loaded and zag with zag.swf. Or should I just accept, and get in the habit of using a zip loader and a zag loader separately, meaning each loader simply serve a specific function.

I have a movie clip (with instance name rectangle_mc) on the stage. Within this movie clip there are two separation animations on the timeline. The ROLL_OVER animation starts on frame "over" and the MOUSE_OUT animation starts on frame "off." If I roll over the movie clip, the initial animation plays, and when I mouse out the other animation plays to restore it to it's initial state. However, once the rollover animation has played once, it will not play again when I roll over it again, but for some reason the MOUSE_OUT plays every time.

I am trying to create a basic flash script to load an external swf file using MovieClipLoader class. Here's my code:

I simply copied it from a tutorial. Unfortunately it throws an error message as follows:
1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: MovieClipLoader
1180: Call to a possibly undefined method.
PS: I have CS3 professional in my machine but I am following Flash 8 book. But my CS3 application supports AS1, 2 and 3.

This should work! I cant figure out why it doesn't. Fortunatley I discovered that it worked perfectly in Flash Player 9. But I guess it must run on FP 10, snice I was thinking to implement this in an AIR for Android application. On the stage I got a button with the instance name of: submit. In the library I have a MovieClip with the linkage of: radioButton. This MovieClip is just to frames with different grafics. It is supposed to work like a checkbox or a radiobutton.

it goes to a certain point in the timeline, which then initiates some code to load a movie clip onto a certain part of the screen.I made a sample swf to be loaded(home.swf), but the thing is, I dont want the user to see the things that are off the page of home.swf, that the user couldn't normally see... i was wondering the best way to solve this.As you can see, i already tried sizing the clip, but that only made it extremely small and didn't solve the problem.he main timeline :

I'm trying to take full advantage of the movieClipLoader along with listeners. But my callbacks aren't getting triggered. Inside one function I loadClip, when onLoadComplete happens I set the onRelease function. Within that onRelease I call another function ("cdPress") that also loads bigger images inside a clip.None of the callbacks in the cdPress function are working. The function is being called successfully, but the "onWhatever" callbacks are not.

I'm trying something that should be fairly simple. I want to:- load a jpg into a container clip- when that image is loaded, then duplicate it and move it to a different position- then do a whole bunch of other stuffI'm doing all that using MovieClipLoader.onLoadInit(), and when tracing the duplicated movieClip, without fail, it returns undefined.

I'm having troubles with my preloader showing up when it's on the server. It seems to work fine when testing it locally, the preloader (a circle) spins until the clip is loaded, then it goes away. When it's on the server, nothing happens, and when the image is loaded it shows up as it's supposed to, the preloader never shows up.

In one situation we have one movie that chooses randomly to load one of two other movies. On one server it works fine. On another server, flash says there are no errors and that it loads correctly (i tested this using onLoadError and onLoadInit). There are no errors and the onLoadInit is called correctly, but what is in the movie wont display after being loaded.In another situation, the user can upload a photo to the server and then that photo is used in the game. The photo upload works properly, the photo gets put on the server and all that jazz. Now on the one server, the loading of the image works fine, it shows up and everything. But then on this other server, yet again the photo says it loads properly with no errors, but it doesnt dipslay it. But I can go on wiht the rest of the game working fine... just no photo... has anyone run into this before?
Oh yes, and it also works on my home server, so it works on two servers and not this other one. So that makes me think it's a server issue, but if that was the case wouldnt flash throw errors if it couldnt work? And like i said, flash at least says it's loading the photo correctly!

I recently began working on a large game. The main swf that all the levels load from also acts as a runtime library. When the MovieClipLoader loads the next level, if that level imports any mc's from the main swf then it won't load. It works fine straight from the HDD though.
I could really use a hand. I've used up most of my brain power figuring out the source of the problem (there's a lot of stuff to sift through).
I mis-spoke before. The MCL will load level.swf, I see the progress bar and OnLoadInit executes which should mean that the first frame of the level was initialized, but nothing appears.

when i was trying to build in the banner images i bumoped into weird problems. At first my cs4 for pc stoppped working everytime so backup to cs3 this also stopped working everytime so i went working through guest account which seems to work ok.ok back to the other problem. on this link you can see the website there is loading an image in the banner by an movieClipLoader this why i can adjust the image size when it's done loading. I want to make everything sizeable. when the site loads for the first time the image won't show, but when refreshing the site, suddenly the image does show.testing this all local works. But online not! so i tried testing local retrieving the images from the web. i got this sandbox error. oke added system.security.allowdomain("*") for the wildcard, really weird cause it's just an image (bitmap) which is called.[code]

Here's the site: [URL] From feedback I've gotten, it appears that under certain circumstances the first image in a set of images does not load properly, although I haven't seen it myself. I'm told this happens only in Firefox. And I believe only Flash player 8. Works fine with FF and Flash player 9, or IE with 8 or 9 I believe.
