ActionScript 3.0 :: Movie Clip ROLL_OVER Only Works Once But MOUSE_OUT Works Infinitely

I have a movie clip (with instance name rectangle_mc) on the stage. Within this movie clip there are two separation animations on the timeline. The ROLL_OVER animation starts on frame "over" and the MOUSE_OUT animation starts on frame "off." If I roll over the movie clip, the initial animation plays, and when I mouse out the other animation plays to restore it to it's initial state. However, once the rollover animation has played once, it will not play again when I roll over it again, but for some reason the MOUSE_OUT plays every time.

I've been creating this banner: [url removed] which accesses an xml document, replaces some texts etc, but as soon as you open it up in a browser (like with the dropbox link I pasted) the banner only loops on the first movie clip. Put in another way: The banner you see is looping through only the first movie clip. But the swf file (and the html file) work fine from the local path of my computer.

I have a button in a Flash project I've made. It's used to jump to another place on the root timeline, labelled "Why". It used to work perfectly.I have now placed the button inside a movie clip (it has to be in an animated sequence), but now it no longer works. It appears to work fine, the rollover state works and all. I have a blank movie clip on the stage with drag and drop capabilities and it works fine!!
That is, until i call the loadmovie() function and attach an image into the empty movie clip.
why the movie clip is no longer draggable when content is loaded into it?

I have a movie clip that is a navigation window and I am trying to have some tooltip hover over the buttons inside the navigation window.
If I create a button on the main stage it hovers and works fine but if I create the same clip inside the embedded navigation window the tooltip does not show up. I do not have any error messages but it is not there that I can see.

I have a collision going on between two clips, clip A and clip B. I tried to copy and paste clip A, but then clip B would only interact with one of them... not both.
Is there a way to get this to work with both? I tried adding clip A to an array, and checking for a collision with the array with

but it still only works with one of the clips.

I'm having a problem with pathways. I have a main sfw called "loadgallery.swf" and upon clicking buttons in that movie, it loads other swf galleries into a container called "movie." It is working when I test it in Flash, but not when I put it into an html page (two levels up from the swf files) and preview it in a browser.Here's the AS on a button (which works when tested in Flash):

I made this XML slideshow which I uploaded to my webserver. It works like a charm when I call the .swf file, but when I call the .html, it fails to load the photos and descriptions. It's almost as if it can't 'reach' the XML-file. Locally, both the .swf and the .html file work fine. I'm using a variable in the url (like [URL] to pass data to the XML, but I don't see why that wouldn't work on the html file...

I have created a pre-loader that creates a movie clip holder then loads an external swf into the created movie clip holder. The pre-loader downloads the external swf but then the downloaded swf re-loads on entry into it's first frame.

I am setting up a Flash based MP3 player control (The standalone version of WordPress Standalone Player). I have a situation of multiple windows with players open. One window opens the other, so I have the window.opener property available. When the child window is opened, I want to programmatically mute the audio player in the parent window.
This works in Firefox, but not in IE 7 and 8. I know little about Flash/Javascript interaction and I'm stuck. I am not getting any error messages. To do this, the player SWF object has a setVolume() and close() function. These functions are not defined anywhere in Javascript so I guess that those are provided by the Flash object. This is supported by the following lines I found in the Flash source code of the player:

So I continue to build my fractal animator, I'm already done with the spinning part, and it works well when I preview but when I publish, the images do not rotate at all. I am using an external class is that has anything to do with it.

I'm using a different domain to host the swf file. The different domain is a media server to take the load off our own server and ISP. Actually, we have 2 different media server URLs. One each for development and production. I'm pretty sure the problem is a security issue in the flash. When I take the media server URL out of the file paths everything works. Although I have a crossdomain.xml with the media server urls included, I don't think it's permitting the request.

If you have a flash movie, how do you put everything in loading techniques so people who open our website do not wait too long.
For example if you have portfolio section menu in you web. Do we have to call the portfolio.swf with the loading inside the portfolio.swf ? I just really dont understand how the loading works. Can anyone give some flow chart of the logic behind the loading technique.

Im using loadMovie within a .swf on level 1 to load an external movie into level 2. But when this happens the sound function doesnt work. The 2nd movie being loaded has the newsound defined and everything within itself. It plays if i run that swf seperately or using ctrl+enter. Yet when the 1st movie calls the 2nd movie onto level 1 at runtime.The sound in the 2nd movie doesnt play. But its button sounds all seem to be working.

I have a flash project that I have been working on for a while, today its stopped functioning properly. To be clear. It still runs JUST FINE when I preview it (CTRL+ENTER), but when I publish the file and run the SWF file, or the HTML file the movie no longer functions properly. Specifically any ActionScript from the main timeline seems to no longer be functioning. ActionScript contained within movie clips continues to function properly, but nothing else.There is about 400 lines of code right now (variables, functions etc.)

i used kirupa's [URL].. tutorial to create a movie with buttons that load external movies and works seamlessly.
my problem is that i want to do the same thing on the external movies that are loaded so to be able to load new external movies on top of them. it does not work and i know its because of the _root script that gets messed up when a new movie is loaded. it has to become _parent or smthing but i can't seem to be able to make it work..

I am trying to make an interactive flash application that works by detecting mouse overs and clicks on various buttons/movie clips and then moves to the appropriate part of the time line. But I am having an issue when I use more than one addEventListener in any one frame. I have attached the code for one such frame below. When I comment out the addEventListner and the other code relating to the followBall function this works fine and directs the user to frame Inlet_Valve_Open_Frame but now only the followBall function is working and when i try to click on the Inlet_Valve_Button movie clip nothing happens.
I have never read all the help files on the adobe flash CS3 as i don't have time and i have built this code up based on examples i have found online. I wanted to include my fla file but it's to big 6Mb. But i have attached the swf so you have an idea what i am doing.

I've got a movieclip acting as a button. Code on the button itself handles roll-over/-out states, and I define an onRelease function in the main timeline as follows:

This code takes the movie back to the first frame and works on the third frame. For some reason, though, the same code on the fifth frame has no effect. The button doesn't do anything. I have tried using the same button, I tried inserting a new keyframe with a new button, renaming the button, etc. and for some reason I just can't get it to work on the fifth frame. If it helps to visualize, I am essentially making a menu. The first frame contains buttons to take you to submenus, located on following slides. This button to go back to the original menu is on each frame with a submenu, but for some reason only works on one of them.

i have a movie that has worked fine in past during Html test but ive been doing some dubugging using the flash test latly and it runs fine here but when i go back and try to test in Html mode no errors come just the movie never fully starts (starts up about as much as if there was an error).

I have developed a rolling credits style movieclip in Flash using Actionscript 2. Text is loaded from an XML file and parsed into a dynamic textfield. This text includes hyperlinks to webpages defined by a url node in the xml so Flash can add the appropriate a href to the dynamic text field and make the link clickable.
In my first attempts to do this the textfield stayed still and all the links worked fine both testing locally and when I run it in a browser on my website.Then I wanted to make things move ... which I achieved easily enough and tested locally (from within Flash Professional) and the links remained clickable, a browser window opened and the webpage i was expecting to see opened... great
However, when I export the swf, upload it and run it from my website suddenly the links are not working. So I tried to test the movie in a browser from Flash Pro - same problem, it must be something to do with Flash Player and the moving dynamic textfield.
a couple of observations - the cursor will change to a hand icon when over the links as you would expect, and if I right click on the link and click open in a new window the link works ok, just not when I left click. If I stop the scrolling then the links become clickable again, it is only when the textfield is moving... actually its not technically scrolling, im moving the whole textfield.

I have two scenes in my flash file and in scene 1, first button takes you to frame 2 where movie clip is -works
on (release) {
gotoAndStop("scene1",2);
}
second button takes you to frame 3
but on scene 2 that performs same function as scene 1, the first button
on(press){
gotoAndStop("scene2",2);
}
instead of going to frame 2 goes to frame 3. and the second button goes correctly to frame 3.that happens when i test scene! when i test movie all buttons work properly.

I have some AS3 code that reads multiple xml files.On a Mac it runs fine.On a PC it runs in firefox and chrome, but not in IE9.It loads and hangs. The code is rather complex, so I'd rather avoid posting it.I'm just wondering if people have had this happen to them, and what the issue was so I can get some ideas of where to start looking?

The problem is that the buttons only work once, after that the event listener isn'ttriggered (I think) I have no removeEventListener in my code for those events so I'm totally lost as to why is this happening.

I've been working on a flash animation with some actionscript 3, which basically is the main.swf that calls upon 5 other swf and txt files that I am embedding into a web template. It all works fine on my mac but when I test on a pc I am able to call upon the other swfs and it pops up but the close button does not work. I assume that it has something to do with my actionscript with the children swf. But just in case I will show both.[code]

This should work! I cant figure out why it doesn't. Fortunatley I discovered that it worked perfectly in Flash Player 9. But I guess it must run on FP 10, snice I was thinking to implement this in an AIR for Android application. On the stage I got a button with the instance name of: submit. In the library I have a MovieClip with the linkage of: radioButton. This MovieClip is just to frames with different grafics. It is supposed to work like a checkbox or a radiobutton.
