ActionScript 3.0 :: Test Movie Works BUT When Published

I'm using a different domain to host the swf file. The different domain is a media server to take the load off our own server and ISP. Actually, we have 2 different media server URLs. One each for development and production. I'm pretty sure the problem is a security issue in the flash. When I take the media server URL out of the file paths everything works. Although I have a crossdomain.xml with the media server urls included, I don't think it's permitting the request.

i have a movie that has worked fine in past during Html test but ive been doing some dubugging using the flash test latly and it runs fine here but when i go back and try to test in Html mode no errors come just the movie never fully starts (starts up about as much as if there was an error).

I have two scenes in my flash file and in scene 1, first button takes you to frame 2 where movie clip is -works
on (release) {
gotoAndStop("scene1",2);
}
second button takes you to frame 3
but on scene 2 that performs same function as scene 1, the first button
on(press){
gotoAndStop("scene2",2);
}
instead of going to frame 2 goes to frame 3. and the second button goes correctly to frame 3.that happens when i test scene! when i test movie all buttons work properly.

I've been creating this banner: [url removed] which accesses an xml document, replaces some texts etc, but as soon as you open it up in a browser (like with the dropbox link I pasted) the banner only loops on the first movie clip. Put in another way: The banner you see is looping through only the first movie clip. But the swf file (and the html file) work fine from the local path of my computer.

I have a flash project that I have been working on for a while, today its stopped functioning properly. To be clear. It still runs JUST FINE when I preview it (CTRL+ENTER), but when I publish the file and run the SWF file, or the HTML file the movie no longer functions properly. Specifically any ActionScript from the main timeline seems to no longer be functioning. ActionScript contained within movie clips continues to function properly, but nothing else.There is about 400 lines of code right now (variables, functions etc.)

The movie works when I test it in the flash IDE, but when I try it from the server it just sits there doing nothing, all the neccessary files are uploaded but I get nothing when I view it.[url]...

I have just switched to CS4. When I updated some text in a movie on the site (originally built in an older version of Flash from back in the Macromedia days) things went fine until I published the document. The movie file looks fine but random characters have disappeared and some portions that were Italics have become regular. Everything stays good in the movie file, but the published one loses characters. I tried publishing for flash 5 but that made no difference. What should I be trying?

is there a simulator or a way for Adobe Device Central to read CS5 created iOS published SWF's or ipa's for testing purposes?At the moment, I make a change in Flash CS5, publish the SWF and IPA, delete the old version from my phone, drop the new IPA in, re sync and test. This is not good for the workflow. What are the options for testing and developing?
EDIT:I am on a Windows machine (Windows 7).

I have simple navigation code setup to step through frames (I'm using Flash instead PowerPoint--too many pictures that are PSDs and illustrations that are AIs to do the conversions over to something PowerPoint understands).[code]When I test it using the debug (Ctrl+Shift+Enter) it works fine.When I publish it, the up and down arrows work but the Home and End keys do not work.They do nothing, no error messages, nothing.Using Flash CS4 Pro 10.0.2 ActionScript 3. I have a TileList of image thumbnails that pulls its image location and caption info from a remote XML file. when you click on a thumb it displays a larger image and changes when you click another image. it works perfectly inside Flash, but when i publish the images, xml, and swf, everything works except the thumbs do not display, and clicking an empty cell doesn't bring up the larger image. i first thought that maybe my xml file was in the wrong place, but since i am still getting 12 empty cells (12 images listed in the xml), i'm questioning whether its my xml code or my as3 code. getting no errors from flash because the entire swf functions as intended locally.
my xml file and images folder reside in the same folder as the swf on my website.

Any thoughts as to why this works correctly in CS5 publish preview but when I publish it I either get no action or (XP comupter) or a blank page (vista) Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated. Also, I'm new to flash and here's the button action:

Sorry, I'm a newbie with what I'm sure is a deafeningly stupid problem. I'm self-taught, as well, so... there you go. I'm working with buttons that trigger images into a loader. When I test it on my computer it works fine. When I upload the SWF to my site with the code, the buttons appear but they don't load the images. I assumed this was because the images have to load from somewhere, so I uploaded the images to the same folder, but I it still won't work. My buttons only work when I click on them on the stage while having the "enable simple buttons" option on. They do not work if I try to "test movie," "test scene" and publish it to a SWF. Nothing responds whenever I am in these modes. I am using Adobe Flash Professional CS5 Actionscript 2.0.

I've made a file in photoshop with layer. I brought it into flash. I created the movie and it plays but when I want to use the "test movie" feat. it does nothing. The graphics come up but no movement. I exported it as an .swf file but still no luck.

I have a project where I have a main project which loads external .swfs, and those external .swfs in turn load more external .swfs. In my main project, everything works perfectly when I preview using simulate download, but once the .swf is published it doesn't work properly. I'm assuming is has something to do with my main site Preloader, that's why I posted here. I'm pasting the code here and attaching the latest size report.

Im using netConnection and netStream in flash 8 to play an external flv. this is my code:

The code, buttons and video object are all in the main timeline (scene 1) of a test fla and it works just fine. But, once I take this code and put it in my main fla which loads external audio, text, and supposedly this video, nothing happens. It doesnt play the flv at all.

I purchased an elastic menu flash component that uses AS3. Unfortunately, I've only just waded into AS2.I'm trying to replace the generic colored background with an image that is masked. Unfortunately, turning the layer into a mask breaks the functionality. The weird thing is that it works fine in Test Mode (Ctrl+Enter) and if published as an EXE. It just doesn't work as an swf.Has anyone run into this weird inconsistency before? Also, what is the best way to get into that component and possibly modify it?

I have a movie clip (with instance name rectangle_mc) on the stage. Within this movie clip there are two separation animations on the timeline. The ROLL_OVER animation starts on frame "over" and the MOUSE_OUT animation starts on frame "off." If I roll over the movie clip, the initial animation plays, and when I mouse out the other animation plays to restore it to it's initial state. However, once the rollover animation has played once, it will not play again when I roll over it again, but for some reason the MOUSE_OUT plays every time.

I just published a short movie from Flash CS4 and placed the entire set of files at this URL[URL] and when my web designer or me for that matter double clicks on the HTML file the movie doesn't play. We get a black screen and at the bottom of the frame in the progress bar there's a little green & white zebra like moving line. I'm pretty sure this is how I've delivered movies from CS3. I'm obviously missing something obvious here, but I haven't a clue. If I double click on the HTML file on my machine that has Flash installed it works great. The .FLV file plays correctly in media player also.

I am testing Flash CS4 at the moment, but something is wrong with it. What I did hundreds of times in CS3, here it just doesn't work.I used Adobe Media Encoder to make F4V from AVI. Then I imported that file to flash (load external video with playback component). Then I previewed it (ctrl+enter) and everything was fine, but once I saved (or published) it, the movie didn't play anymore. There was just background and no movie nor playback component.I tried encoding that file to FLV, even for older flash versions (I have the newest one installed), but that didn't help.

I have this flash file for a website that needs editing. However, I know next to nothing about Flash (I still have Flash 8, so that tells you alot). Anyway..I have made the edits, and as far as I can tell, the bits I have edited haven't changed where the problem occurs.
Basically, theres 2 'slides', you click 'next' and the 1 slide fades away, and the next fades in. However, if you drag the timeline thingy, this fade happens all ok, however, ctrl+enter to test the movie, or publish it and play it the swf player..one part of the first slide doesnt fade out, it stays there in the background. Its seperate from the rest of the slide in terms of not been all one image or whatever, its text, but i cant edit it (if that makes sense?).
I can delete it, by clicking and double clicking around randomly till its highlighted, but then it disappears completely from the movie.

I have not worked with Flash for quite awhile and just finished a personal project in Flash CS4, originally created in Flash MX, but when I uploaded the complete swf and html to the Web, the swf file is not visible at all I see a blank page. The previous version, saved in MX, works just fine online but I no longer have the MX version.
what ActionScript version should I output for the SC4 version, 1 or 2 (I tried version 3 and got an error message)?
