View 1 RepliesWhich is the best way to load many images with the movieClipLoader class?do I have to create one instance of moveClipLoader for each image or is it possible to use the same for all the images?
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to set up a website that uses the MovieClipLoader class to load external images & swfs. The loader is working but I can't seem to get the preloader text to work, ie the onLoadProgress. The Percent text just has jibberish when I test the movie. Could some tell me what I'm doing wrong. Attached is the test file that I'm working on

I'm making a XML photogallery. Im using a MovieClipLoader to load multiple images on the screen at the same time. I've assigned variable path to hold image

when i was trying to build in the banner images i bumoped into weird problems. At first my cs4 for pc stoppped working everytime so backup to cs3 this also stopped working everytime so i went working through guest account which seems to work ok.ok back to the other problem. on this link you can see the website there is loading an image in the banner by an movieClipLoader this why i can adjust the image size when it's done loading. I want to make everything sizeable. when the site loads for the first time the image won't show, but when refreshing the site, suddenly the image does show.testing this all local works. But online not! so i tried testing local retrieving the images from the web. i got this sandbox error. oke added system.security.allowdomain("*") for the wildcard, really weird cause it's just an image (bitmap) which is called.[code]

Code:
image.setMask(mask);
var mclListener:Object = new Object();
mclListener.onLoadInit = function(target_mc:MovieClip) {
[code]....
I have a small problem using MovieClipLoader to load multiple images at the same time. This is the function for loading:
ActionScript Code:
private function loadImage(image:String, container:MovieClip, w:Number, h:Number):Void{
var listener:Object = new Object();
_root.debug.text += "Loading: " + image +"
[code]....
This function is triggered in a for cycle for 4-9 images.The problem is - some of the images don't get fully loaded. It is usually 1 or 2 at most. Some of them don't show at all and some load partially (let's say I see 60% of the image and underneath a gray line). Is there some restriction for multiple connections in Flash? Are the requests made too fast?This problem does not occur in Flash environment, it occurs only online. The listeners execute alright even for the not loaded images. No load error at all.
I've got a gallery that loads images in using MovieClipLoader. Unfortunately once the images are loaded they don't seem to want to be resized.I've added an empty MC to the stage for each one and loaded the image in, then I try to resize it to fit the screen. Tracing the size after the onLoadComplete event returns 0 and changing the size makes the clips disappear from the screen.
View 1 RepliesI'm working on a Flash application that has thumbnails and fullsize versions of an image. The steps I'm taking:
- import the image at runtime, and attach to a movieclip (we'll call it polaroid, since that's what I'm calling it).
- resize polaroid via polaroid._width=3; polarois._height=3; to get my thumb
The image quality is OK for pictures, but it's also fairly important that text not look too pixelated. Is there anything relatively simple (i.e. not too taxing on RAM) I can do here? Even a blurring layer would do the job, if there is any such thing.
I have a swf that loads external images from an xml feed (using moviecliploader) and then rotates through these images every n seconds. This works fine in ie and it loads the images and scrolls through them. However in Firefox sometimes it loads the image and sometimes it doesn't! its like a lucky dip haha Is there any link that you know of to any information on this bug/issue with firefox that might help me resolve this? Found something that might be causing the problem, if Firefox cannot find the image within a certain time it just gives up... is this true?
View 1 RepliesI recently began working on a large game. The main swf that all the levels load from also acts as a runtime library. When the MovieClipLoader loads the next level, if that level imports any mc's from the main swf then it won't load. It works fine straight from the HDD though.
I could really use a hand. I've used up most of my brain power figuring out the source of the problem (there's a lot of stuff to sift through).
I mis-spoke before. The MCL will load level.swf, I see the progress bar and OnLoadInit executes which should mean that the first frame of the level was initialized, but nothing appears.
I'm trying use the MovieClipLoader class to load up a swf and have it start at a particular frame. Such as:
Code:
var myloader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
myloader.addListener(this);
myloader.onLoadComplete = function(target:MovieClip) {
[Code]....
The Bold underline text is where I would imagine most of the magic happens. How Would I place the MovieClipLoader into this and have that swf go play that particular frame label?
I have loaded an image using MovieClipLoader and am using the following code to scale it to fit a photo frame:
var mcLoader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
..
.. add listeners ...
mcLoader.loadClip(filePath, frame.imageHolder);[code]....
The code works for most of the images except images with resolution 2880 x 2880. It did not scale properly - part of the image on the right does not show. The lower image scaled properly, but the upper one did not.The math seems to be correct
When I load an external SWF into my UI SWF using MovieClipLoader.loadClip(), does the external SWF get cached?
Therefore, if the user tries to reload a SWF that had been previously loaded, the SWF will load from the local HDD instead of the website, right?
In my case, caching of content is important to reduce bandwidth usage.
I am using the MovieClipLoader object to load a swf into a master swf. I am the using a series of buttons to load various swfs into the master.swf - i.e.; navigation. Her is the code that I am using for the movie clip buttons go to frame 2 of the external swf MM_work is the movie clip that acts as a button. The first three lines of the function give the button its various states and interactivity the final line in the function is telling the movement.swf to load into the master.swf (or level 0) thus booting out the previous movie clip.What I want to be able to do is to fade out the current movie clip loaded into the master.swf (level 0) and once that has been completed to then load in movement.swf. Basically fading out the existing movie clip before loading the next one.
View 3 RepliesI want to load a variable from a txt file using the new MovieClipLoader() within MX2004PRO but i have a pb...

var my_newsloader = new MovieClipLoader();
var my_newslistener = new Object();

I want to load movieclips when my main moviecliploader are loading. So eg I have a loadbar and when its 50 % I want a movieclip to come up. And if the loader is at 70& another movieclip comes up.[code]
View 1 RepliesIs it posible to make a preloader of a SWF that loads an external JPG?
View 1 RepliesI cant seem to make my preloader disappear after the MovieClipLoader class has determined the load is complete. I have a movieclip I attach onto the stage called thumbnailModule_mc inside of it I have the preloader movieclip (a simple spinning circle) and the image holder movieclip that the MovieClipLoader is listening to see when the image load is complete. When the load completes I want to set the alpha to zero and fade in the image. But my code doesn't work! the preloader stays visible.
Here is my code:
Code:
function loadHomeBar(xmlFileName:String) {
var homeSideBar:XML = new XML();
homeSideBar.ignoreWhite = true;
[Code]....
I am trying to create a basic flash script to load an external swf file using MovieClipLoader class. Here's my code:
var myMCL:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
var myListener:Object = new Object();
myMCL.addListener(myListener);
myMCL.loadClip("splash.swf",5);
I simply copied it from a tutorial. Unfortunately it throws an error message as follows:
1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: MovieClipLoader
1180: Call to a possibly undefined method.
PS: I have CS3 professional in my machine but I am following Flash 8 book. But my CS3 application supports AS1, 2 and 3.
I am trying to load multiple images into a scene and then cycle through the images one at a time.So, here are the essentials what I've put together in AS3:First I set up a counter and a Loader
[code]....
Then, after loading a list of images from an XML file, I call a function that I called "createImages". This function then takes the list of images and creates a bunch of loaders:
[code]....
So far, so good! I now have a bunch of loaders each with a different name "img1","img2","img3" etc.
I have a photo gallery that loads many images using a for loop (image data is from XML file). Simplified code looks like this:
Code:
var photos_xml = new XML();
photos_xml.ignoreWhite = true;
[code].....
I am using actionscript 3. I can load an image in a class but how do Iload a number of images eg 4 images that animate.?These 4 images are a walking sequnce of a character. I am unclear after googling an loading multi images in as3( just love google).
Loading a single image I load this into a loader Once loaded I load the image into a bitmap and add to a sprite I then add the spite to the stage Q)Now for 4 related images I load 4 loader or 4 sprites or 4 bitmaps or do every thing 4 times?I want to do collisions eventually and I need bitmaps but bitmaps seem useless to use other than collisions.Googling for answers isnt helping me clarify this!

I have a rotaing menu that loads in images from an xml file, I would also like it to load in text info from the same xml file to the left side of the images that load in. In my main .fla have created a movieclip and called it 'textInfo' and inside that I have two dynamic text fields called 'headerText' and 'bodyText' where I want to load the text in. this is what I am using to loading in the text in my actionscript, is this correct?

I have successfully dynamically loaded Jpegs into my flash document(using PHP), but then I have another small problem.When I dynamically load the image (example: image_icon_bluesky.jpg) I then need to tell the MC that is holding the loaded image that it needs to do this...
on (release) {
_root.image_bluesky.alpha = 100;
}
SO basically every time a new image is loaded in my sort of "loop" script. I need to tell the image that it needs to put specific code onto the MC using specific "image" details for that specific image.
I hope this is clear. Basically what I'm trying to do.On my flash stage I already have MC's that have their alpha properties set to "0". Lets say there are 3 images. One MC is called Blue, other is called Red and the last one is called Yellow.Now using AS + PHP I have dynamically loaded 3 Jpeg's .
[Code]...
and so on for each image....I have tried to explain this as well as I possibly can. I just wanna know if this is possible or if there is a simple way of doing it
I've got a Flex/as3 application that is embedded into my webapp. Currently we're embedding images into the swf and loading them like:
Code:
[Embed(source="images/foo.png")]
[Bindable]
public var foo:Class;
There are two things I'm trying to accomplish. The first is the images in the swf are part of a pool of images that the whole web app uses. Currently i have 2 sets of images, one set are images that the rest of my app uses, and the other are duplicates that are used by the swf.
The reason for that is build related (ideally, we could fix this, but fixing the build process is something bigger than i want to tackle at this point in time) I have a ton of images to load up and instead of having a giant ugly if/else block, i was hoping to make a naming convention for the icons, so i could just build a string at runtime and use that to load an image. Is there a way to look up embedded images via a path, or image name? It seems that images/foo.png is floating somewhere around in the swf. Can i get to it without using foo?
Code:
myImage:Image = someMagicalFunction(foo.png);
Im currently making a flash website. and trying to make it as light as possible.so decided to load images dynamically.Im using UILoaders.I drag the UILoader from components into the main timeline and set the source as 1.jpg, because the image is in the same folder as the .fla file.and scale - false
Tested the movie but nothing shows up. i guess i need some coding? but i dont know where to add the codes. on the same frame? or in frame 1? i also need the image to fade-in.the end result im looking for is, as i click a button. 3 images show up at the same time, fading in.
I have about 20 images. And on click I need the images to load in to a MC. I've used this script to each frame. (shown are example scripts are placed in two frames.
1. The stop command dosen't seem to function. It keeps on restarting.
2. Getting an error "1061: Call to a possibly undefined method addChild through a reference with static type flash.display:Shape."
[Code]....
I have some AS2 code which loads up the images via an xml file. I have been asked to eliminate XML entirely and have images be loaded from with in the library. Aside from images, there are other xml nodes such as:image_name, image_description and such.What would be the best way going about eliminating the XML and getting the code to load images and other related info from the library.
