ActionScript 2.0 :: Input Text Error In LetterSpacing?

I am doing a mailing list sign up and my input text doesn't seem to have the letterSpacing settings working.
My input text's instance is set to Semail.
I don't have any var set to it. I am using loadVariables to interact with the PHP.
I am using the codes below to set its letterSpacing but it's not working.var email_fmt:TextFormat = new TextFormat(); email_fmt.letterSpacing = 1; Semail.setTextFormat(email_fmt); My other dynamic text are working fine for the letterSpacing part. I am using CS 3 and Flash Player 10.
What could be the reason? Is input text different from dynamic text?

When I put focus on input text, I get Error #1023.

I have text input boxes. There is validation for each of the boxes using numberValidator. Now, the thing is that am using alert box to show if any error occurs.
Flowchart ::
1> Insert value in textBox.
2> NumberValidator validates the input on "trigger=change".
3> If error, alert message is displayed. The user clicks OK to go back to form.
4> Focus set back to the TextBox.
5> But, alert box makes the text input value blank / null. i.e. Both the previous error value entered by user and the default correct value will not be displayed now.
Display the most recent correct value that was entered in the text box. Not the default of any other, but the most recent correct value entered by the user.

I have a form with a horizontal layout and with this TextInput:
<s:TextInput id="platformNameTI" showErrorSkin="true" showErrorTip="true"/>
I have a simple validator that just checks if there is something entered (required field). My problem is as the layout is horizontal, when an error occurred (required file missing), all form items are shifted because of the error icon. Is there a way to delete that annoying icon or force the component to not display it?

I have an issue with font scaling of a dynamic text box.
Currently i have one input box named input_1 with a variable attached to it named "choc_1".
Also, i have a dynamic text box named dynamic_1 with variable "choc_1".
When the user types something on the input box then the dynamic box changes instantly and displays what the user has written.
auto scale-size the fonts to a smaller size if the user types many letters.
The input_1 box has a 13 character limit. My initial font size is 200, i want to scale down so when the user types 10 letters they fit the box and they don't go out of screen. I want to use one line, so wrap or multiline is not possible.

Im trying to give an specific text format to my textFields. The problem here is that when I set the property letterSpacing with a decimal value I get a rounded space result... 1.4 becomes 1 and 1.5 returns a 2 px spacing. It is very fustrating.[code]...

the last of many problems, is that at the very end of the test, you're shown your score, and you have the option to type your name in a text box and click "save". Doing so will apply you score data (time elapsed, date, correct answers and percentage) along with the name you typed in, and output in a form, that you can save or print off, or whatever. The problem is, the input text box will not let you type in it. If you mouse over it, the mouse stays a pointer, you don't get the text tool. If you click on it, the cursor appears for a split second after you release the mouse button, but you cannot type anything in it.This is the actionscript for the output form:

Is it possible to add kerning (letterspacing) in-between the numbers in a date counter?
For example lets say I have a date counter that counts the dates of a month (1,2,3,etc...) and I have two circles sitting side by side not overlapping. How would i go about adding a space in-between the numbers to have the number on the left in the left circle and the number on the right in the right circle? I believe it requires strings but I don't know enough to be able to code something like this at the moment.[code]...

I have 2 keyframes on my timeline.The first keyframe has an input text field (instance name: inputTxt) and a button (instance name: btnTester).When the user clicks the button it takes them to the second keyframe where their text should be displayed in a dynamic text box (instance name: txtBox).I get a null value in keyframe 2.

i created an input text box that puts the users input into a global variable, but when i test it it gives me not only what i have typed in but all the html formatting for the font that my input text box has on it.I only want the text that i have typed in to go into the variable but the wackload of html is going in there too. ive tried a few different things, rewriting my code, recreating the text box, changing settings, dont know what im missing.

I'm trying to build a fahrenheit to celsius convertor in AS3. How can I test to see whether what is input into a text input box (flash component) is not a number? This isn't correct but you can get an idea of what i'm trying to do:

i have an one input text box, first i type text into it and press space bar at this it will become empty and ready to accept next input from starting position, i make the text box empty by

but the cursor not set to initial position in text box it consider "" as "space" and cursor will display after one space only, i need that cursor again move to starting position..

This code corresponds to a quiz question where the correct answer is either blue or green. I get the #1009 error if I input "blue". The answer "green" seems to work ok. What's wrong with my code? which everything seems fine, but when i implement a slider on a page inside a folder in the root (i.e. aboutus/index.aspx) i get that error when the slider is trying to call the images.I have similar slider animations in pages located in the root folder and in those i get no problem at all, seems it only happens when the page is located inside a folder.The website is done using main.master on asp, maybe the cache or rendering of the website is missing something, hope someone has had something similar or know how to get around this.

a. to pick up the mic activity level, read it, and based on the number put out a line
b. it to be kept to a minute, after the minute the screen is cleared and it plays back the lines and sounds that had been generated.
c. that nothing appears when the mic.activityLevel is 0
d.that when lines hit each other, a sound is made
I don't care if there is no playback, but right now I can't even get the lines to appear and I need the sounds to play when the lines hit each other.

I'm making a system to upload photos to a gallery. I'm using filereference, and it's working alright. I can upload like 20 files fine sometimes.. but when I do like 50, it starts giving me errors on over half the files.
The error is: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2038: File I/O Error.
This may be a php error, or server error, I'm not sure. Because the file isn't even uploading at all.

I have an swf that sends info to a PHP file which in turn gets a SWF to FLV converter running. If I try this with a small 1kb swf file it works great and returns the results with in 5 seconds.However now that I step it up to convert the files in which it was intended, files ranging around 2 mbs, I get this error..
