Aug 28, 2011When I create a TLF text area that is editable at runtime (which means that it can get a user input at runtime) I set the text direction to the 'right-to-left' definition in both the 'container and flow' and the 'paragraph' sections and set the language for Arabic or Hebrew at the 'locale' setting. I also set the text alignment to the 'align to start' mode. Now at runtime there's a stange thing. When I try to click with the mouse cursor on the editable TLF text-box, it's not displaying the text icon cursor and don't allow me to insert text inside.
But when I move my mouse cursor over the right side of the editable TLF text box, it change his appearance to the familiar text cursor which indicate that if you click here you will be able to insert text input inside. So my problem is how can I make it that only when I will hover over the TLF text box itself, the mouse cursor will be changed to text cursor icon and when I will hover beside its right side, it will remain at the normal cursor mode.

Mar 8, 2010I just learned how to make a basic slideshow of images where one image shows for 3 seconds and then fades out and then a new one fades in, on and on. I imported my images, converted each image to a movie clip symbol and now they're arranged in my timeline. I need to add a NEW image at the very beginning of the the timeframe. I keep trying to Insert --> Frame, etc., but I'm not seeing a new first position in the timeline where my image will go. I'm used to video editing timelines and Flash is a real challenge for me.

Apr 3, 2011I would think this would be pretty simple, but I don't really know anything about actionscript 3.0. Please put this into terms I can understand. Basically, I want to be able to input text in a text box and have the movie jump to another frame based on what is typed into the box after the "enter" key is pressed. For example, If you type "Frame 2" and press enter, It could go to frame 2 and stop.
Additionally, I want to beable to have it control movie clips within the frame. For example, if you type "MovieClip1 Frame 3" it could seemingly transform an individual element in the frame by making the movie clip go to and stop at it's third frame.Finally, in the case that something is typed that doesn't match up (that the movie "doesn't understand,") I would like a movie clip to switch from being invisible (frame 1 of the movie clip) to showing an error message (frame 2 of the movie clip).The idea is, I want to make a visual text-based adventure game. Like, you could type "go north" and it would go to frame 3 where there's the northern part of the village.

Apr 9, 2011I animate flourish using adobe flash then export it as swf to use it again in another flash movie when i import it i use these steps:
1- I make a symbol(movie clip)
2- I import the swf to the stage
3-then I back to Scene1 to control its size and position in my movie
BUT when I finish all these steps and play my movie the flurish too slow and not soft as original its cracks!!

Unable To Insert A Flash Movie?
Jul 23, 2009Yesterday I made a nice little flash movie (a picture slideshow) and today I've looked a a few tutorials explaining how to add my new flash image. To keep it easy I made a single page, using Dreamweaver, just to display this one movie. Everytime I ruin in in dreamweaver (F12) nothing appears. Similarly, anytime I look in the properties and press play my flash image disappears.

IDE :: Insert Flash Movie Into PowerPoint?
Mar 14, 2011Sometime you may need to insert an existing Flash movie to your PowerPoint presentation to enhance your slideshow. In general, there are 2 ways to do this.
1. Insert Flash movie into PowerPoint from PowerPoint control toolbox.
1) Copy your SWF file to the same folder where the blank or existing presentation was saved.
2) Open the existing PowerPoint presentation and go to the slide where you would like to insert a Flash.
3) Right click Tools from PowerPoint menu and enable Control Toolbox.
4) Click More Controls (bottom right icon) on Control Toolbox. Choose Shockwave Flash Object from the dropdown list.
5) Your cursor will change into a cross, hold mouse left button and drag to draw a rectangle. The rectangle is where the Flash will be located, you can adjust its size and location later.
6) Right-click the inserted Shockwave Flash control, and then click Properties from the pop-up menu.
7) Within the movie option, type the name of the movie without any path (since it is saved within the same folder as the presentation). Make sure that the Playing property is set to True.
2. Insert Flash movie into PowerPoint from FlashPoint.
1) Download and install FlashPoint,[URL]
2) Open an existing PowerPoint presentation, you will find FlashPoint button on PowerPoint menu (usually next to the Help option on PowerPoint menu)
3) Click FlashPoint button and select Insert Flash movie from the flyout menu.
4) Browse and specify where the target flash movie was located. Click Open to import it to the slide.
3. Can the inserted Flash movie also be captured when turn the whole PowerPoint to a single Flash movie for web distribution?
Yes, FlashPoint is a powerful PowerPoint to Flash converter, the flash inserted in original PowerPoint will be extracted and re-created into the final Flash movie accordingly.
Can't Successfully Publish Movie?
Nov 28, 2009I'm not getting an error message when I publish my movie (CS4). I'm able to navigate to the end of the movie, so the nav bar and background image are there, but after a number of images and sound bites, other images don't appear nor do the associated sound bites play.I've removed lots of tween, which has helped some, but not enough. Jul 2, 2011I have had to go back and update my first ever Flash/ActionScript project. I was just learning so there are 1000's of lines of code all in frame. However, it worked and at least I understand what everything means. he problem:I made a bunch of changes, always doing several tests (test movie). I then made a backup of the file (luckily). I then noticed a number of more things to change, and after changing them and fixing some typos caught by the compiler, I test again. The progress bar slides across, disappears, and my movie never comes up. I checked the folder, and no .swf is there. When I publish, the same thing happens, progress bar completes, but no file was created.
Here are some findings from my own troubleshooting:-While compiling I open the folder and see the .swf is created then deleted- Backed up version still works (as well as other files) -- suggests I changed something causing the malfunction- No compiler errors (if I purposely create errant code, it will throw compiler errors though) -- contradicts conclusion of above- Copied all code (I think, didn't document which code changed too well) that was changed between backup copy and full-up-to-date copy to new blank file and compiled fine- Re-Save As-ed the full-up-to-date copy under new name and folder -- did not fix problem -- interestingly this new file is substantially smaller than original (og. 4.5 mb new 1.8 mb) -- also while trouble shooting the original file went from 4.5 mb to 3.8 mb
- Restarted flash and then computer - did not fix- Tried testing on different computer - Errant video loaded with a runtime error #2004 unhandled IOError Error #2036: Load Never Completed -- interestingly enough I don't recall there being any loader or loading going on in the whole programI did a search, and found some recommendations for a similar problem, but for them test movie would work once and then the person would have to restart flash to test again. This is not whats happening (and I did the recommendation anyway and none worked). Each post I see the same problem as here, there are never any responses (lets hope I break this trend).

Jan 29, 2007I have a flash mp3 player that I want to embed in a page and I need to insert the data of two external .xml files in an action inside the first frame (there are some server limitations that don't allow reading of external xml, txt and js files). The action I have now is:

so, what I want to do is paste the contents of those two .xml files inside my Flash movie somewhere so the above script accesses them directly and does not have to call outside files.
