I'm using Adobe flash to create a movie and I cannot publish it, and the annoying part is that it wont give me any error messages it just crashes half way through loading. Please help! its really important as my project is due next week.

View 2 RepliesI have been trying to get sIFR 3 rev.436 working on my site but I stuck at publishing the movie. I did everything the instruction had told me to but when I published the movie and double clicked it to test, it failed, the movie was blank with the following error. Someone said the Action Scripts should be in the same folder as the sifr.fla, it was but it didn't help at all.

The class or interface 'sIFR' could not be loaded.I was puzzled and after hours of looping in the situation I downloaded rev.432 and tested it out. To my delight, everything turned out right and I published the movie successfully!
Simply put, I am making a flash midi player. I am using ENTER_FRAME for my timings. I set the framerate to 100 to ensure that the timing of each note in milliseconds is accurate. When I test the movie with CTRL + ENTER it works fine. When I publish it and open it in a browser (tested both IE and Chrome), it suddenly plays back a lot slower. I don't think it's a performance issue, since the code is very simple. If this slowdown is consistent then I can perhaps work with it so that the playback speed will be correct. Do browsers make the framerate slower or do they implement a framerate cap of some sort? What is going on?

But when I preview it as html the arrays are all empty...

I'm not getting an error message when I publish my movie (CS4). I'm able to navigate to the end of the movie, so the nav bar and background image are there, but after a number of images and sound bites, other images don't appear nor do the associated sound bites play.I've removed lots of tween, which has helped some, but not enough. View 2 RepliesI have had to go back and update my first ever Flash/ActionScript project. I was just learning so there are 1000's of lines of code all in frame. However, it worked and at least I understand what everything means. he problem:I made a bunch of changes, always doing several tests (test movie). I then made a backup of the file (luckily). I then noticed a number of more things to change, and after changing them and fixing some typos caught by the compiler, I test again. The progress bar slides across, disappears, and my movie never comes up. I checked the folder, and no .swf is there. When I publish, the same thing happens, progress bar completes, but no file was created.
Here are some findings from my own troubleshooting:-While compiling I open the folder and see the .swf is created then deleted- Backed up version still works (as well as other files) -- suggests I changed something causing the malfunction- No compiler errors (if I purposely create errant code, it will throw compiler errors though) -- contradicts conclusion of above- Copied all code (I think, didn't document which code changed too well) that was changed between backup copy and full-up-to-date copy to new blank file and compiled fine- Re-Save As-ed the full-up-to-date copy under new name and folder -- did not fix problem -- interestingly this new file is substantially smaller than original (og. 4.5 mb new 1.8 mb) -- also while trouble shooting the original file went from 4.5 mb to 3.8 mb
- Restarted flash and then computer - did not fix- Tried testing on different computer - Errant video loaded with a runtime error #2004 unhandled IOError Error #2036: Load Never Completed -- interestingly enough I don't recall there being any loader or loading going on in the whole programI did a search, and found some recommendations for a similar problem, but for them test movie would work once and then the person would have to restart flash to test again. This is not whats happening (and I did the recommendation anyway and none worked). Each post I see the same problem as here, there are never any responses (lets hope I break this trend).
In frame one of "Scene 1" i have a movie clip that acts as a scrolling image banner, scene 1 is only 1 frame long and there is no scene 2 yet, or any other frames, But, when i preview, or publish, the scrolling image movie clip disappears, for like, no reason. theres no actionscript in any of the frames at all so that wouldnt be causing it somehow.

This means that code would be downloaded for each page my movie is on. Is it possible to configure Flash CS4 to publish that javascript to a separate .js file, instead of having to manually copy-paste that each time??
If no, I believe that js is independent of the Flash movie (please correct me, if I am wrong). So, can I copy-paste that javascript to an external file just once, and use the js file for all my movies being published??

Unfortunately, my receiving end only supports AAC audio. Is there a way to publish AAC audio with Flash?
Note : I tried the mp4:mic_user1, but it does not work. The stream negociation seems ok, but the received audio is garbage
im using key.addlisteners to check for key presses. but if a person presses all 3 keys at once (RIGHT, LEFT, UP) then releases one at a time, only the first release is noted by flash. see a demo at:

i want to publish my movie with WMODE set to transparent windowless. there is a glitch in flash that makes it so if(key.isDown(key.right)) sort of codes dont work in anything but IE when WMODE is set this way.
I've made a presentation in the form of a swf movie using macromedia flash 8. I want to upload this to a website where when the website is loaded the movie would play automatically at a half screen size... Any host server that I could subscribe to? How to upload the file? View 1 RepliesI'm new to flash mx 2004 and I'm having a problem publishing and playing my finished project. Every time I try to play or publish the project I get a 'The Flash program is out of memory. Please increase virtual memory on your PC' message. I was originally working on a 1 gig RAM PC and thought this was the problem. I've since borrowed a 2 GIG RAM PC which allowed me to do a little bit more work before I got the same problem. I then got a 4 GIG PC and was able to finish the project but if I try to play it or publish it the program crashes. Any Ideas. This is a college project which I need to publish as a windows exe file and I can't do it. I don't know what's wrong. The project is about 280 meg in size. I tried to 'save and compact' but it still crashes. I also tried to debug the flash project and it crashed again. I'm baffled as I think a 4 GIG PC should be ample and I no longer think that this is entirely a RAM problem anyway.

Flash CS5 doesn't offer me to target flash player 4 in the publish settings
i found a way to publish swf as flash player 10 and that supports 3d features in the script like rotationX, rotationY and rotationZ. no need to hack or use hex editors. Simple steps you have to follow.
I have included the files + a sample 3d fla i have don in that tutorial. Only the problem is Test Movie won't show 3d features. You will have to use publish preview to get results of flash player 10 features/scripts.
I am having a problem with Flash at work. Any time I try and publish a file, whether its a .swf, .exe, or whatever, Flash crashes and closes. I am running Windows Vista x32, and Flash CS3. Any file, as long as it is saved and publishing a copy of the file with the same name, does this. The only way I can get around it is publishing from an Untitled document that hasn't been saved yet....even then all I get is a preview, not an actual published file.
The files I am working with publish fine on other machines. I have contacted Adobe and all I got was "reinstall," and "run a clean install." I reinstalled 3 times, and have run CS3clean twice along with more reinstalls (once each using each separate level of cleaning.) None of it worked; I still get the same issue. Also, I cannot open the ActionScript tab without flash crashing; the only workaround is to open an untitled document, open the AS tab THERE, and THEN open an already existing document. From there though I can't check my syntax or auto-format.
