Code:

ActionScript 3.0 :: Load Data From CSV; Remove White Space From Split

Mar 12, 2012

I'm attempting to load into an array data from an external .csv file. No problem here.

I load into a first array all of the data and split the data at the end of each line ("
").

Then, I place into a new array each line that was split.

The problem is that the last element in this new line comes with an invisible space such that when I do a trace they come out as follows:

AAAA

BBBB

CCCC

instead of

AAAA
BBBB
CCCC

This is a problem because I later on do a switch check for 'AAAA', 'BBBB' or 'CCCC' and I think it doesn't recognize any because of the space.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Publish Preview The Play Button With Load For A Split Second And Then Disappear?

Aug 21, 2010

I've been working on a AS3 script to control my FLVplayback component.  I'm very close to making this work.  Let me describe what I want to happen.On my homepage I have a DIV container where my video will be located. I want a still image of the video to load with a play button over it.Upon mouse over I want the button to change colors, upon mouse click I want the video to play.I have a .FLA project I'm working.  I've got a FLVplayback component, sourced to my .flv.  I've created a button and it works.  When you click it the video plays.I have 3 layers.

actions (this is the top layer)

buttons (has a button and progress bar)

assets (only the FLVplayer)

The following AS3 is set to frame1 in the actions layer.

I'm using FlashCS4, AS3 and DreamweaverCS4

Here is the weird issue.

#1.  While working in Flash.If I do a publish preview the play button with load for a split second and then disappear to be replaced by the still image.If you click on the center of the still image where the play button SHOULD be, the video will play.

#2.If I view this online.The play buttons NEVER disappear, however the still image NEVER loads.

import flash.display.*;
import flash.events.Event;[code]............

I have two text fields, textL and textR, that read like a book with a specific height and width. Currently I have the external .txt/.php set up variables for each page. Example of book.txt :Code:&page1=Hi this is page one.&page2=And this is page two.I am looking for ideas on how to approach using just one variable which is split at the absolute end of textL with the rest of the variable or string loading into textR. Basically, automating the split of the text when it runs out of space in each field.

ActionScript 2.0 :: [Flash8] Load Text Into A Dynamic Text Field And Load A Corresponding Picture Or Movieclip?

May 1, 2009

The desired affect is simple: I have a single button... with each click I want it to load text into a dynamic text field and load a corresponding picture or movieclip.There are only three unique text/image combinations- after its displayed the third, with the next click I want it to just start over. All the text functions perfectly with each click.

The problem is:I use "createEmptyMovieClip" then use the resulting clip as a loader clip.. With the first click I want a movieclip from the library to load, so I use the "attachMovie" method- it displays the first library fine.With the next click I want to load an external swf- so I call the "loadMovie" method of the loaderclip... The external swf loads just fine replacing the first library clip.The third clip is where I have problems... now I want to load another library item into the loaderclip... so I tried using the attachMovie method again but the external swf remains static... then with the next click, I discover the first library item no longer loads and the external swf remains still playing- it's like once it's been loaded into the loaderclip it cant be moved...

So I tried adding the "unloadMovie" method in the code for the third click.. it successfully removed the swf... but the next line of code immediately after the unload statement, doesn't work. The line calls the attachMovie method for the loaderclip... but the library item doesnt load... Oddly enough, with the next click, the first library item now does load as if everything's fine... It seems like you cant use the unloadMovie and attachMovie on the same executing code? if that makes any sense... the basic idea was that if I couldnt get the attachmovie method to replace the loaded external swf, then I would use the unload method to remove it, then have code immediately after, to then execute the attachMovie method... but it still doesnt load the library clip. and I know it's not a type-o, because when I comment out the loadMovie and unloadMovie statements, it loads both the library items perfectly ? The code is below

var increment:Number = 1;
var verbiage1:String = "Hello World1";
var verbiage2:String = "Hello World2";[code].............

Flex :: 4.5 - Split Time Between Day?

Feb 23, 2012

I would like to calculate the duration of time that span between 2 days. Example: Date: 1/1, Start at 11pm and the duration end for 3 hours. I would like to break the 3 hour apart for both days like the following: Date --- Duration Jan 1st ----- 1 hour Jan 2nd ----- 2 hours How to split the 3 hours time frame from Jan 1st (1hr) and the next day Jan 2nd (2hrs)?

further explanation: Basically, On day Jan 1st at 11pm run for 3 hrs, so the 3 hrs will span from Jan 1st to Jan 2nd. Giving Jan 1st 1hr (as Jan 1st start at 11pm [at night]) and to Jan 2nd 2hrs [in the morning]. So how to split the hours between the 2 days in code?

Split Large SWF File?

Nov 20, 2010

Hey flash gurus. I did a search and while I feel certain this has been covered (and am content to be flamed) I couldn't find the answer here on the boards so here goes...

I fumble/stumbled my way through making a web site for myself and I'm pretty happy with the results. I am sure I did some obscenely newbish things but it works and it looks good enough so I'm fine with it for now except...

It takes a good long time to load the web site which I believe is due to the fact that ALL the pages of the web site are mashed into a single SWF file. I would like - for a number of reasons - to break this into several different pages (not just for size but to make updates less painful).
