ActionScript 2.0 :: (MX 2004) - Selections To Be Made Into Variables That Can Be Concatinated When The "Go" Button Is Pressed

I have created a tool where the user makes two selections (from 2 seperate comboboxes). I want the selections to be made into variables that can be concatinated when the "Go!" button is pressed, thus taking the user to the required frame. In other words: If the user selects "3-7" years in the first combobox, and "low-medium" in the second, when they click the "Go!" button, I would like them to be taken to a frame called something like "3-7low-medium" I'm sure this is possible, but so far I've drawn a blank!
I am having some problems with a small survey swf i am making in actionscript 3. I have multiple choice questions on different frames using radio buttons and i need the users selections shown in a dynamic text button along each frame and also on the last frame of the survey.
Another problem i am getting is i need the last radio button clicked to be stored, so if the user clicks lets say 'rb_2' on frame 1, clicks next to go to frame 2, then if they were to go back to frame 1 again 'rb_2' is still selected.
Thought it would be easy using the 'Shared Object Class' but from reading tutorials i cannot get it working.

This causes a mc to fade in and out on rollover/rollout. But what I wanna make is a box that fades in when pressed on the button and fade out when pressed for the second time. But if I say
on (press){ _root.fade = true; }
the mc fades in, but I cant do another on (press) to fade out. Is this too confusing?
how a can i declare global variables in mx 2004? i want 2 declare a variable that can be accessed by all buttons & movie clips. i tried to put it in the main thingie (the one u find in the actions panel when you're not selecting anything)
Is there or is there not possible to access _global variables between domains? on [URL] i have index.html and index.swf. Index.swf then loads main.swf from [URL].In index.swf i have a _global variable that i want main to use. When calling for it all i get is undefined. The only way to access it is if i call for it using _parent or _root.
I have also put a crossdomain policy file on both servers..cross domain policys since i CAN access the variables and functions using _parent and _root...or is it?
Can you please tell me why this isn't working? It takes me 10 minutes to test the movie every time and it's taking me forever to fix things. Do I have to do something else with the variable names I'm using or something?
Anyone let me know wether if pixel calculations are made swf files and when they r made to fullscreen wether they will remain the same in any monitor size?
I am working on a project that involves basic buttons in flash. They have 2 functions. One is to go to a url and the other is to execute a movie clip within the flash movie.
I dont want my developers to open flash to code the page links (i.e. contact.html). Is there a way to just add a variable of some kind in the GetURL() and have it pull from an .xml file? It can be very basic. There will be no need to dynamically add more buttons, just simply change link names on the fly.
I'm trying to create a set of 4 vertically arranged buttons that 'split' apart when those buttons are pressed. For example, if you click the topmost (1st) button, the bottom three buttons will drop down so submenus (for the 1st button) can now be revealed beneath. Again, when you click the 2nd button from the top, the bottom two buttons drop down, revealing submenus, and so on.
Now, is there a way that I can use actionscripting to tween the buttons to not only motion tween a drop down when a button is first pressed, but also to motion tween the button to return up to its original spot when another button is then pressed? Right now, I have two keyframes, side-by-side which each containing a different y-scale value for an object. Can I do some actionscripting to get the object to motion tween upward to its original spot instead of "clicking," or snapping back to is original spot when another button is pressed?
I want the press button to detect the last button pressed and if the shapes match, make them do something...obviously. I think I'm going at it the wrong way. I need to stick a "triange" id into the button/mc then if compares that and then if there is a match works then... right?
What button event should I use to make the program understands to DO SOMETHING only when the button is pressed/dragged. In my sample code below, I want something to happens only if the button is dragged beyond 200 in y axis. I tried onRelease, onRollOver and onDragOver but still not working
I have a series of buttons inside an array. I am trying to get the buttons so that once they are pressed, they remain in the over state. Which is a darker color than the up state. So that people know which button they have pressed. Is there an easy way to do this for buttons?

I have got a small question. I have made a button with a link to a website lets say [URL].. but when you press a button i get an notification from adobe player security manager that tells me this site is trying to connect to a different site and you have to configure manually. Only after doing that button works fine. Is this going to happen to everyone when they try to use my website and is there any way i could fix that?

PROBLEM: I am attempting to load in an external SWF file and once it is loaded, I wish to directly make the new Sprite/MovieClip into a button. However, the newly loaded Sprite/MovieClip seems to be resistant to be made into a button DIRECTLY. I would like to know why this is.

I made a button that navigates to a URL with a _self target. Well, in the script, i have it like this:

the "_self" isn't working on the page, but when i take out the target, it works just find, it opens in a new page which i don't want.You can check it out here

and watch that flash header for about 30 seconds, theres a button at the end that reads "Click Here" try clicking on that and it wont take you to the URL.

I have made an input text field which has in front of it a minus button. In another place I have a plus button. When I fill the text field my plus button becomes able and I can press it for another text field, an so on. My problem is when I press the minus button, because the fields have to rearrange and I don't know how to do that.

Each have 3stages: up, over, down.I want to have 1st button to stay on its 'down state' when pressed and then you should see 2nd button 'up' stage(down stage of 1st button is the same as up stage in 2nd button).If someone hovered again you see 'over' stage of 2nd button,when will click, button move to 'up' stage of 1st button.
I have done an animation which includes a button that I want to use to start it. I've added action script to stop the animation on the last frame, I just have no idea what action script to put in to start it when the button is pressed. I have 14 layers + an action script layer. 7 of the layers are animated.
