I'm making a gallery using XML data and loading the information into a mc instance that are in turn being attached to the stage via linkage id. My question is this: I need to make all of those instances fade out with a function, and I have created a for loop to do this, however it is not working.. Any suggestions on how to make it work?
I am still new to swish and flash and the script confuses me at times. I am doing it more for a hobby and to create interactive programs for my daughter to help her learn. I have made a parking ticket machine to help her tell the time and to count money. The problem I am having at the moment is that I am trying to make one button add 30seconds to a text box total every time it is clicked (for example click1 = 00:30, then click2 = 01:00, then click3 = 01:30 and so on). The problem I am having is that I have made an else/if statement to do just this but every time I click the button it just jumps to the last else/if and shows that total. I am trying to think logically but I may be making things more complicated or maybe the scripting is wrong and I need to try something else. Here is the script I have made for you to see and hopefully someone can tell me what I have done wrong.
I have a button to increase the scale of few items. It's suppose to increase the size with every single click. When I click the button continuously having the mouse unmoved and over, it wont increase the size. But if I rool out of the button between every click, then I works. I need to make button function with every click.

I'm trying to make a button that has an animation as well as a function. Currently i have an MC with an animation in it and on roll over/out it plays forward or in reverse. Now I've tried adding a function that when clicked, the animation goes straight to the end of the animation until clicked again.

Tried with variables, setting whether or not it was clicked, yes or no. But the enterFrame kept resetting it.
I have got a small question. I have made a button with a link to a website lets say [URL].. but when you press a button i get an notification from adobe player security manager that tells me this site is trying to connect to a different site and you have to configure manually. Only after doing that button works fine. Is this going to happen to everyone when they try to use my website and is there any way i could fix that?
I have a very basic question. I have a custom class called caurina. I've imported the class and it works great. What i did is use that as a function called slide().
What I would like to do is make that function play when a button is pressed. I can't seem to find out how to do this anywhere. I am using as3.
Summary: When btn is pressed go play function slide()
When button1 is clicked, the cursor changes into a 'movieclip' I want this movieclip cursor to switch back into a regular cursor when button1 is clicked again, so toggle the function on and off. My question to you is, is it likely to use some kind of boolean here to toggle the function on and off?

PROBLEM: I am attempting to load in an external SWF file and once it is loaded, I wish to directly make the new Sprite/MovieClip into a button. However, the newly loaded Sprite/MovieClip seems to be resistant to be made into a button DIRECTLY. I would like to know why this is.

and watch that flash header for about 30 seconds, theres a button at the end that reads "Click Here" try clicking on that and it wont take you to the URL.
I was asked to put all my actionscript in only at the main timeline, while I have lots of movie clips that acts as each page in my website. Each of them has buttons that I need to make them work without put the actionscript inside the movie clip but the main timeline.
I tried to use movieclip(parent).menu_btn.function(); which is not working
and now I'm trying to use array as a friend suggested me.

the problem is when i clicked play button and it links to the play page,but it has an intro animation for 2-3 seconds before they reach the menu_btn that's why the error come out is that I have a null object since they execute the code b4 it comes to the menu_btn keyframe.
i want to link a flash button to page made in dreamweaver. so i am going from a flash slpash page to html..(if i am correct<--noob) its all on my ftp server so how do i write the actionscript to find the page i want it to? i am sure that i worded this whole thing wrong so bear with me.
I'm working with some XML-supplied data, with a variable number of elements. I'm using a loop to add instances of a symbol for each element via attachMovie. But something is preventing my URL action from getting properly assigned.
When i load both using the attachMovie. The content is loaded over the button but, you can still click on the button even thought there is something over it.
The same problem happens when using the loadMovie. Even thought the content is overlapping the button its still possbile to click on it.I also notice that you can also select dynamic text. I know you can use the disable button function but using this i will need to disable every button on stage. Or without the need of unloading the movieclip too
I have made an input text field which has in front of it a minus button. In another place I have a plus button. When I fill the text field my plus button becomes able and I can press it for another text field, an so on. My problem is when I press the minus button, because the fields have to rearrange and I don't know how to do that.
i am not an action script developer nor flash designer, i just want to have a small action script sample that i will edit a little to make it interact with my javascript code. I'm having some issues with my attach movie. I've made a button that attaches a movie when pressed.[code]My main loads this movie into an empty movie clip called "emptyMC". When I go to test the above code does not work when the button is clicked to attachMovie.I've tried switching _root to this and that didn't work, and I tried switching _root to _parent and that didn't work.What is the code for attaching a movie that is nested in an empty MC in my main movie.
how to use attachMovie to load a movieclip in to my main stage, drag it around and include a close button. I then added a variable (x) that would control which clip would on top depending on which was clicked last.
The question bit... I've managed to do this (...sort of), but was wondering if anyone could hint me with the code to disable the button if the clip is loaded, and enable it as soon as the clip has been closed so that it may be opened once again?
