I'm having some issues with my attach movie. I've made a button that attaches a movie when pressed.[code]My main loads this movie into an empty movie clip called "emptyMC". When I go to test the above code does not work when the button is clicked to attachMovie.I've tried switching _root to this and that didn't work, and I tried switching _root to _parent and that didn't work.What is the code for attaching a movie that is nested in an empty MC in my main movie.

i have an issue with a button that, when clicked should make a loader component with a flashpaper object unload its movie and then set that loader's visibility to false.the button works fine if clicked once, however if you click it again it doesn't seem to be doing anything.. i have a feeling it has something to do with the flashpaper object (which is still buggy as hell... try editing _xscale on one of those things in a function call and watch it dance) cannot figure out why the on (release) event can't be called twice.. do i need to do something like reset the button state or something?

I have a Rectangle Box called (Panel1_mc).And inside it there is a button called (BoardMessage1_btn). When I click on this button, the Rectange Panel should move upwards. Right now it is on the bottom of the page. The following code throws an 1010 error:

i have a movie called with:

and within each i have a close button with:

but now i have a problem, im trying to use:

to call the move again if there isnt already an instance of it but it only works the first time the movie was called, it wont work after i use the close button to unload the movie..

what happened in my flash document was, I created a button, "next_btn" with the following commands:

At this point, almost everything worked perfectly. Everything, but one thing. Apparently, the swapDepths command wasn't working. It was then that I thought maybe swapDepths only works on movie clips.And so I converted the button into a movie clip. I modified the instance names, etc, and almost everything worked. Everything, including swapDepths, but one thing: the gotoAndStop command.For some reason, when I tested the movie clip (containing a button) out, it removed the splat+score and finger_mc movie clips, as well as stoped the background music from playing. However, it did not go to the next scene and frame as specified by the gotoAndStop command. "s1a2" is the next scene, and "gameplays1a2" is its frame.

I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?

I am trying to attach the scrollBar component that ships with F7/+. I can use this

and that works fine. However, if I do the below script it doesn't work. Why?

why a ComboBox component wouldn't work if it's in a movieclip brought in with attachMovie? When I click on the combo box, the menu drops down like normal, but no matter what I click on, it goes blank. Just spent a lot of time searching the net for an answer, found a few suggestions but nothing has worked.The combo box works fine if it's placed on any timeline in my main movie, but when it's in a movieclip that is attached with attachMovie, it stops working.

I'm making a simple game to accompany my murder mystery interactive website and I'm having some actionscript issues. The idea is that the user will be able to click on objects around the room, and recieive clue, find keys etc. One of the problems im having is when the user clicks the lamp, it brings up a box over the screen to resemble nighttime, however, when the screen reverts to normal, none of the other elements, i.e the book, are clickable - again, im sure this is a simple solution that I am just overlooking, here is the full code;

I have two movieclips. 1.a button, 2.the content.

When i load both using the attachMovie. The content is loaded over the button but, you can still click on the button even thought there is something over it.

The same problem happens when using the loadMovie. Even thought the content is overlapping the button its still possbile to click on it.I also notice that you can also select dynamic text. I know you can use the disable button function but using this i will need to disable every button on stage. Or without the need of unloading the movieclip too

Anyway what I need to do is have a movie clip finish playing when a button is clicked and then go to the frame label associated with the button. I hope I'm explaining myself ok. So if I had say 4 buttons Home Gallery About Contact If Contact is clicked then I want the Home page to play (Which is a fade out) and then go to Contact Page (which will fade in). Then If Gallery is clicked then I want Contact to fade out and then go to Gallery page and fade in.

how to use attachMovie to load a movieclip in to my main stage, drag it around and include a close button. I then added a variable (x) that would control which clip would on top depending on which was clicked last.

The question bit... I've managed to do this (...sort of), but was wondering if anyone could hint me with the code to disable the button if the clip is loaded, and enable it as soon as the clip has been closed so that it may be opened once again?

I have a movieclip named menu (instance name = mainmenu). Inside of that there is a button named btn_about (instance name = about). On the main stage there is an empty movieclip named empty_mc (instance name = mcholder, linkage id = empty). I want a user to press the button which causes a movieclip in the library named tesst (Linkage name = testid) to load into the empty movieclip (mc_holder).

Here is the code on the button:

this._parent.mcholder.attachMovie("testid", "tesst1", this.getNextHighestDepth());
}
It does not work.

I want to make a button (or graphic) active and visible if another button is clicked. But it must be invisible and unclickable before the other button is clicked. (this is a "find the differences between the 2 pictures game" and I want circles to appear over the differences that the user finds but only after he clicks it)

The button (or graphic) I want to become active has instance name of "sockcircle_btn" The button you click to make it appear is called "sock_btn"

In the first frame of the sockcircle_btn layer, this is my code

The file is setup to loop between frames 2-3. But the sockcircle_btn never enables even when sock_btn is clicked.
