what i need to do is create an instance of an input text box when a button or key is pressed. However as of yet i've been unable to no matter what i try, for some reasons i guess it's properties don't carry over the same way a static object does.

View 21 RepliesI made a contact form in my flash website, but for some reason, you can't type in the input text boxes I made. I already have embedded the text, so that isn't the problem. I think maybe it's related to the code I have, or maybe I need a code to target the text box. One more key detail: The text box is within a movieclip. If I don't put it in the movieclip, it works fine, but I need it inside of the movieclip.

This is a situation: i have a index.swf in which i have holder movieclip in which i load gallery.swf (where i load pictures in it's holder mc). The thing is i used _root in gallery.swf so when i publish it separately it works, but it doesn't work within index.swf. I suppose there is a scope problem where _root adresses _root timeline of index.swf instead of gallery.swf when index.swf is published and gallery.swf loaded inside. I tried to solve this by putting: Code: this._lockroot=true; inside of gallery.swf but now my Flash 8 player just freezes when index.swf is published and gallery.swf loaded into it but i have no idea why? What would be other solution for this problem?

I am trying to attach the scrollBar component that ships with F7/+. I can use this

and that works fine. However, if I do the below script it doesn't work. Why?

Everything works fine, except the attaching of the scrollBar.Like I said, it works if i just do the this but when i use target_mc it doesn't work.
I have a problem with an input text created dynamicly into a MC that is into a MC that is into a MC (...) So it's, let's say:_root.myclipA.myclipB.myclipC.myinputtext now as my input text isn't on _root, i can't get focus on it (i can never add any text). How can i do to be able to input some text in that textfield? It cannot be moved elsewhere because i drag myclipC when i press myclipB...

I've seen similar threads but couldn't find one with the exact same issue. I've a PDF / Word document with arabic copy when I try pasting that text in flash all the joined letters start appearing as individual letters.I've tried the dynamic text box solution in which you create a dynamic text box and assign the text to its variable that doesn't work. But strangely when you write arabic in dynamic text box (with out assigning the text to the variable) and double click to select the text box and its content the text starts appearing fine .. but when published its again all individual letter.

how to make input text work when within a movie clip? I have a scroll with text and on the bottom i have my input fields, but when i view it it appears that you can type in it but nothing happens... the field from comes through fine though.

The first project i checked out, a bug jumps up.when you create a texfield on stage, make it html text. set it to verdana or arial regular, emded the basic symbols.give the textfield a name and try to make some bold text using actionscript.

preview it and every thing stays regular.the only way to get right is to embed the font styles in your library. but for some of the more special symbols, that's not good enough.that's the only reason i re-installed flash cs3, after thinking maybe that was the problem.

View 5 Replies- I put 3 dynamic text field to stage. I selected Verdana both of them and select bold and italic for other 2 field. after that I created a textfield.

assigned "Verdana" font as TextFormat.
and when I assigned a htmlText to my field like that :"<b>this is bold</b> this is normal". I use Flash CS4, AS3

View 3 Repliesso i updated a site and now the input text part on my form does not input numbers or signs which i need the @ to work for the form to work and i tried to fix it on cs4 and it will not work because its not the same format since i updated it from cs4 to cs5 and now i cant go back. View 3 Repliesi've a problem with a 3D animation of a dynamic textF (a textfiled nested in a MC). Everything goes fine, but the quality of the text, at the end of the animation, slow really down. It's like the AAliasing doesn't work fine (it's setted on "Antialising for animation", but if i use anyone else, the result doesn't change).
