So it's, let's say:_root.myclipA.myclipB.myclipC.myinputtext now as my input text isn't on _root, i can't get focus on it (i can never add any text). How can i do to be able to input some text in that textfield? It cannot be moved elsewhere because i drag myclipC when i press myclipB...

In the code below i want to change the _root.broj and _root.logo variables inside the function which returns values from .php file. Inside the function everything works fine and all values are correct but when i trace var broj outside the function it's still 0.

View 2 Repliesthe last of many problems, is that at the very end of the test, you're shown your score, and you have the option to type your name in a text box and click "save". Doing so will apply you score data (time elapsed, date, correct answers and percentage) along with the name you typed in, and output in a form, that you can save or print off, or whatever. The problem is, the input text box will not let you type in it. If you mouse over it, the mouse stays a pointer, you don't get the text tool. If you click on it, the cursor appears for a split second after you release the mouse button, but you cannot type anything in it.This is the actionscript for the output form:

i have an one input text box, first i type text into it and press space bar at this it will become empty and ready to accept next input from starting position, i make the text box empty by
textbox.text = "";
but the cursor not set to initial position in text box it consider "" as "space" and cursor will display after one space only, i need that cursor again move to starting position..

Is there a better way to make is so more than one answer works? Something like "blue" or "green" or "otheranswer", etc..?

I need the ability to click the Bold button and it bolds or unbolds at the cursor so if I hit the bold button what I type from that point on will be bold until I hit the button again and then it goes back to regular. I am able to change it to bold or unbold by selecting the text and clicking the button but I also need to do it without selecting.

View 6 RepliesI admit I'm fairly new to flash, but I've almost finished an entire RPG battle system complete with music [etc. etc.] - but my problem is trying to add a preloader.. I have a basic page which says "Loading" and has a Dynamic text box below which should read the Variable "_root.loadText". In the first frame I have this code:

and in the second just "_root.gotoAndPlay(1);" for the updating process. I'm sure that's all okay. But when I export it, then upload the swf file to somewhere like SwfCabin to show people for testing purposes, they have to wait on just a blank white screen for 1~3 minutes.. -note: I use both Adobe flash CS3 [at home] and Macromedia Flash 8 [at school] - I can stick to just CS3 if needed.

All was going well... but then I changed my code from value1 = "password" to value1 = password.text; and the php instead of coming back with the user's password, comes back undefined. WHY WHY WHy, does it except it when I say value1 = "password" and not with the value1 = password.text; (and 'password' is the instance name of the input text... (not using flash vars)

In Flex Mobile Project, Text Input shows blocks instead of showing arabic text. Labels are working fine with Arabic.

Since, it is for flex mobile project, when I input any text in arabic, it shows separate characters. Arabic is a language that doesn't have separate characters. It should combine letters to form specific word.
