Nov 23, 2011I've seen similar threads but couldn't find one with the exact same issue. I've a PDF / Word document with arabic copy when I try pasting that text in flash all the joined letters start appearing as individual letters.I've tried the dynamic text box solution in which you create a dynamic text box and assign the text to its variable that doesn't work. But strangely when you write arabic in dynamic text box (with out assigning the text to the variable) and double click to select the text box and its content the text starts appearing fine .. but when published its again all individual letter.

and this SoundON from where i get it, i try to add linkage to the sound file but in CS4 i cant find the option;. I do it from the library, adding text into the linkage field but still my sound doesn't want to play?
Changing The Static Field Doesn't Work?
Oct 18, 2010Here's a simple test:
1) create a new AS3 project.
2) add a dynamic text field to the stage, give it an instance of "txt" or something and make it render html text
3) on frame 1 add this code:

txt.htmlText="<b>bold</b> <i>ital</i> <u>underline</u>";
if you test the movie, it looks fine.
4) add another text field to the stage, this one should be a static text field; put some text in it and test the movie again.
5) if you delete the static field and add another dynamic field, all is well again. Simply changing the static field doesn't work. It needs to be deleted and re-added.
ActionScript 2.0 :: Grassy Field Tut - Masking The Layer Doesn't Work
Dec 23, 2003I took Kirupa's tutorial on how to make a grassy field (which can be found HERE and it worked out. But now I have a different problem: I need to get all those grassy blades out of my movie at a sudden point. They just need to go, but I can't figure out how to. I tried multiple things:
- Masking the layer doesn't work
- Creating a new layer on top of them all, and putting a black square on that one, which covers everything, doesn't work either
- Changing the alpha of the first blade...nope.

I have three text fields sitting right next to each other, to create a row. Some times the text is longer than the width of the text field, I don't want to widen the the text field to make it fit, I just want to fade the last 20 - 50 pixels of the text out.
Is this possible to do without using an object above it, such as a gradient?

Html :: Flex Textfield Doesn't Gain Focus When Cursor Is In Text Field Of Iframe
Sep 10, 2010I have a web page which has a SWF file embeded. I have an issue with the focus.
Steps to reproduce:
1)Click on a HTML Text Field which is inside a Iframe
2)Click on a Flex Field.
3)Begin to type some text.
Expected Result is the entered text should go in the Flex TextInput field but the actual Result is it goes into HTML text field.
This is the bug which was filed but closed without any resolution. The workaround suggested there doesnt work. ( bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-12377 )
This is happening only in IE 6.0 and IE 7.0. Below is the live example. [URL]

Jun 25, 2011I made a contact form in my flash website, but for some reason, you can't type in the input text boxes I made. I already have embedded the text, so that isn't the problem. I think maybe it's related to the code I have, or maybe I need a code to target the text box. One more key detail: The text box is within a movieclip. If I don't put it in the movieclip, it works fine, but I need it inside of the movieclip.

Nov 12, 2008just downloaded the flash cs4 trail, very nice some of the irritating IDE bugs are gone that i had on my mac, and didn't had on windows. but enough of that
The first project i checked out, a bug jumps up.when you create a texfield on stage, make it html text. set it to verdana or arial regular, emded the basic symbols.give the textfield a name and try to make some bold text using actionscript.

preview it and every thing stays regular.the only way to get right is to embed the font styles in your library. but for some of the more special symbols, that's not good enough.that's the only reason i re-installed flash cs3, after thinking maybe that was the problem.

Jul 14, 2010I am trying to create a hyperlink in my text field that when clicked will take you a website target a _blank page.I have created a text field and input the website through xml - src, I put the text field inside a movieclip - link, i created a sprite and put that in the movieclip. However anytime that I try to click it, no matter the configuration I get one of two errors: Error #1069: Property loader not found on flash.text.TextField and there is no default value.^^Is the most common The other one is I believe Error #1010 Can not target and object of null reference?? Something along those lines.

Sep 29, 2009i've a problem with a 3D animation of a dynamic textF (a textfiled nested in a MC). Everything goes fine, but the quality of the text, at the end of the animation, slow really down. It's like the AAliasing doesn't work fine (it's setted on "Antialising for animation", but if i use anyone else, the result doesn't change).
