ActionScript 2.0 :: Create Dynamic Text Box And Assign Text To Its Variable That Doesn't Work

I've seen similar threads but couldn't find one with the exact same issue. I've a PDF / Word document with arabic copy when I try pasting that text in flash all the joined letters start appearing as individual letters.I've tried the dynamic text box solution in which you create a dynamic text box and assign the text to its variable that doesn't work. But strangely when you write arabic in dynamic text box (with out assigning the text to the variable) and double click to select the text box and its content the text starts appearing fine .. but when published its again all individual letter.

- I put 3 dynamic text field to stage. I selected Verdana both of them and select bold and italic for other 2 field. after that I created a textfield.
.embedFonts = true;
assigned "Verdana" font as TextFormat.
and when I assigned a htmlText to my field like that :"<b>this is bold</b> this is normal". I use Flash CS4, AS3

What I have got is a stats bar called scores inside it. I have three dynamic text boxes I want to display the variables
_global.killed_global.money_global.toKill
So I assumed that i could just assign the variable to the box via the properties bar. No luck I then tried to have the mc called scores saying
this.moneyDisplay.text (name of dynamic box) = _global.money
Still no luck not sure what else to try. Most successful was assigning the variable but that only got me a 0 which was the starting variable what should I do?

I have a test field that I've created dynamically. If I add text to it by writing: myField.text = "some text" the text appears, but if I add text using a variable I don't see anything. If I trace the text field's text trace("text = " myField.text) I get the right value.

I created an input text box. But when i try to go and click on the "variable" option to assign a variable i get this error: "This feature is not supported by ActionScript 3.0. To use this feature, you must target ActionScript 1.0-2.0." How can i do that? By the way, the variable textbox where you need to enter the variable name is gray. I can't write in it. I'm using flash CS4.

I wanted to make a little quiz kind of game, 4 choices and a sum randomly displayed.And i wanted to assign each time a random choice (to contain the answer) and i've done that, and can trace that 'rightChoiceBox' = _choice(random num)and i can trace the answer itself but what i've commented at the end won't work I get the error

I'm tryin to build my first button in flash and flex, so I have build my movieclip in flash with a simple animation and a TFL text with instance name 'caption'
I have assigned a class to the symbol and, in flex i wrote this:

I start the movie and I see 'HELLO' on my button, WOW! but If I go over the symbol and then out the text change again to 'TEXT' (the default i wrote in flash)

I am using Flash5 to build a site. I have a main page with navigation bar to get around. The word "menu" is sitting on the right of the stage which contains the actions:
on(press) {
gotoandplay("expand")
}
which opens the nav bar on the bottom of screen. This works fine. However, the text was blurry on my site, so I switched the text from static to dynamic text, which solved the blurriness problem.
BUT, after switching the text, I discovered my "menu' button is not behaving as before.
Can one assign actions to dynamic text? If not, what do I do to still have legible text? Again, the menu bar and other links were working fine, but when switched to dynamic text, none of the navigation works.

There's a movieclip, lets call it myMovieClip. Inside this movieclip there is a dynamic text box, lets call this one myText. Now to change the text within this text box that is embedded in a movieclip, it's simply:

However, what if there is a variable, called myVariable that stores the instance name of the text box. With only one text box I know it's pointless, but for the sake of example, lets leave it simple. So, suddenly the code looks like:

A scene with many dynamic text and several graphic. Example :

Go into the 3D Studio Max link and in there you'll see my problem.....How can I get the text to format to the width of the dynamic text field? What I have are variables set up to load text from an uploaded .txt file, into the dynamic text field... it seems to run each line way over to the right...

This should be basic enough but I'm having trouble troubleshooting it
var instrument:MovieClip=banjo;
instrument_txt.text="The " + String(instrument)+ " has been selected!";
I wanted this to result in dynamic text field displaying
"The banjo has been selected!" but it results in "The [Object MovieClip] has been selected!".
Is String(var) wrong command to use? The only reason I could think why it's not working is, that the variable has been stated as 'MovieClip' instead of Number or Text. What can be done in the case of MovieClip if this is correct?
P.S I'm wondering if there're rules on asking questions on this board... I've asked two for today already and they would be considered pretty 'basic' ones to professionals / experienced users on this board >_<

In a nutshell, I'm trying to create a dynamic text box in which text show up for one XML node but not for another, so I have some XML nodes that have info in them and others that don't. This seems like it would be a realatively easy thing to do, but I've been working on figuring out how to do so for days with no avail. I have been making a memory game, where words are shown to the user. Once they have memorised the words they go to the next screen where the words that they have memorised are shown. They then have to drag each word into a "correct" place and a "wrong" place. I now want to edit it so that I can use two arrays one for correct words and one for wrong words. I want to generate random words from each of these arrays. I have sort of worked out how this is possible to do but using dynamic text, but am I correct in thinking that the whole dragging the words thing is not possible with dynamic text. (I may be wrong though, I am quite new to flash).

I made a basic text editor that lets users insert predefined strings into the document with button clicks. What I need to do now is let the user define their own buttons and string values. For example I have a button that inserts "Hello" into the text. The user may want to create a button that adds "Goodbye".To accomplish this I figured I would create a .txt file called buttons.txt or something. i would readutfbytee, loop through it to create the buttons. problem is I know what I want to do but not sure where to start

When i try to make like a shop game, i create a dynamic text and set it's variable to "money". When i test it, everything works fine. But when i try to add a static/dynamic text close to it, the text won't be visible.It's kinda hard to explain, so here's a preview:

I made a contact form in my flash website, but for some reason, you can't type in the input text boxes I made. I already have embedded the text, so that isn't the problem. I think maybe it's related to the code I have, or maybe I need a code to target the text box. One more key detail: The text box is within a movieclip. If I don't put it in the movieclip, it works fine, but I need it inside of the movieclip.
