Flash Sliders To Effect Numerical Values?
Feb 11, 2011I used to use flash years ago, and have only recently come back to it in my course in university so im very rusty.
What i am looking to do is in flash create two sliders where the user can slide along to their shoe size, and their weight, so that as they do that, the numbers in two other boxes will periodically change to help indicate what size snowboard they need to get.
eg. as user makes shoe size slider go along to larger sizes, at certain points the number in a box labelled board width will increase.
also as an added touch I would like a character to actually increase in size as the slider is used, I'd imagine for this I would need to have a movieclip of the character getting bigger and allow the slider to progress through the frames of this movieclip.

Apr 25, 2011I'm currently underway in designing the UI for my game's level editor, I'm not using Flash's build in UI components instead I'm doing it from scratch using OOP.I want to have buttons, drop down menus, panels/windows that contain text fields and buttons.
At the moment I have the buttons down whenever one is created it is added to a static class's static array, and given a unique id number dependent on how many buttons have been created and added to the array so far.I figured this would be good as whenever a button is created I could apply an Event Listener looking for a MouseEvent.CLICK. Then just using the event.currentTarget.getID(), to find out what button has been pressed.
I'm about to start making panels/windows so the user can enter numerical values then submit them via a button, which will also close the window. I was thinking about doing more of the same and having static classes for each input type which lists all instances of that type of object.

Feb 6, 2010I have an app (historical timeline) in which I am using one object (driver) to scroll another (driven) - like a scrollbox.There are limits on the movement of the driver, so I am using the % of the driver's movement to drive the % of the driven object's movement. It works fine on the ends of the driven, but I need to distribute the movement so that the driven object moves more at the end than at the beginning.Basically I need to multiply the % so that it moves from 0 - 1 non linearly.

n = 32.999999999999999;
p = Math.floor(n);
trace(p); // returns 33
n = 32.11111111111111;
p = Math.floor(n);
trace(p); // returns 32
I would expect both of these to return 32. I have searched, and it seems this is an unreported bug in AS3. Or ... am I doing something wrong?

The key goal I'm looking for is ease to write the XML by hand (both the base and the "extended").

I need the animation and it can't be done with just taking the BitmapData of the swf. I try with some searches but no result for now.
